Roughly the equivalent of a full season. 610 / 538 / 99 / 28 / 4 / 41 / 101 / 10 / .271 / .352 / .567 / .919 / 140 / 305
Still just 22 years old.

And I'm also impressed that he's K'd only 12 times in 68 PAs! What a switch from last year, huh? Though he's only got 4 RBIs, and his OPS is only .481 w/RISP, I'm not put off by that cos he's already come a long way and that stat will soon turn around. He's learned so much this past off-season.

I've been very impressed with Cody's ability make adjustments. He went into a couple terrible tailspins last year only to bounce back. A classic example of a young player who couldn't do that & got his confidence shattered shares the same clubhouse. Joc Pederson might need a change of scenery to resurrect whatever career he might have had.

Yep, and Bellie does not need to hit (try to hit) a Nike Zeus missile every time up, just grease one down past the third base line/bag can do absolute wonders for your stats and the team, especially with runners on!

Let's not forget that Bellinger was a high average, contact oriented hitter (.328 in his first pro season) with low strikeout rates and questions about whether he would have enough power to be an effective big league first baseman when he was drafted. Bellinger himself made the adjustment to tap his power in the lower minors in 2015. This is a player very capable of making proper adjustments when the need arises. The start to this season further proves that. He's cut down his K-rate considerably, which many I've heard were saying would be his demise this season. Supposedly the Astros had shown baseball how to pitch Bellinger to get him to get himself out. The walk rate is lower so far and the power is down from last season, but I would expect both of those to rise as we get into the season.

Butwheat would love to be in this conversation. I’ll bet his response would be something similar to: “This is what I’d like to see.” GO DODGERS!!!

Pretty sure BW would say we'll win the World Series if Cody stops swinging at the bad pitches. I miss him.

I just looked up newspapers in Dunmore, PA. I'm going to find him, BW, and that's that. :)

BW shared some details of himself as I recall. His name was Jim, had been in the navy, had a large family, was a Catholic, believe he was born in '46, and in my mind was the biggest Dodger fan on this site, and that's saying something. His health wasn't great. I intend to contact local newspapers, even saw a local UPS store, let people know the mission, , flyers and perhaps an ad or two. A little time, a few phone calls, no real cost, big payoff. I bet it works.
edit - lookie here - BW went to Sunday PM Mass every week/Sunday, missing part of the game but always catching the end.
