Yank fans will start booing the Judge tomorrow if he keeps looking like Cody at bat. Now that George Stienbrenner is gone, that's my excuse for not rooting for the Yanks: heartless fans who'll boo their own players if they don't come thru in the clutch. I don't want the Trashtros to win either so I guess I'm torn. I watched most of that game and the Yanks are about to get swept. But the Yanks were also about to sweep the Red Sox way back in '04 when Roberts was on the team. They led 3 games to 0 but then the Sox humiliated the Yanks with four straight wins with their backs against the wall and won that deciding game at Yankee Stadium! Yogi Berra was right on: it's never over till it's over I have that episode recorded on ESPN: 30 for 30, FOUR DAYS IN OCTOBER. I’d love to see Rusty make it to another World Series, only to once again show his weakness in never being able to close the deal on a title. And yes - I’m STILL bitter about him giving up that 2 - 0 lead against the Gnats, coming back to Cincy and only needing to win ONE game out of three, only to perform the ULTIMATE choke and lose three in a row at home. He’s a perennial participant in the postseason, but despite having some of the best assembled teams in the league, including those Redlegs, simply cannot put a team over the top for a championship ring. GO DODGERS!!!

Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Solo shot in Game 4 Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Realmuto went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and two walks during Saturday's 10-6 win over the Padres in Game 4 of the NLCS.
Realmuto put the finishing touches on the Phillies' comeback in Game 4 with a solo homer off Steven Wilson in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old entered the game struggling in his first career postseason, hitting .200 across 35 at bats, but he was able to reach base three times to help the Phillies win a crucial Game 4. Although his offensive numbers in the postseason do not jump off the page, Realmuto has now scored nine times, and his team is one win away from reaching the World Series.
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Smacks another homer in NLCS Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and a walk during Saturday's 10-6 win over the Padres in Game 4 of the NLCS.
Schwarber continued to be an OBP machine during the NLCS, reaching base three more times, including a 429-foot blast off Luis Garcia in the sixth inning. The 29-year-old has an astonishing .529 OBP in the NLCS with one RBI in all four games. After entering the NLCS just 1-for-20 in the postseason, Schwarber has completely turned it around, and he is making an impact nightly for the Phillies, who are one win away from reaching the World Series. Schwarber is 4-for-11 with two homers in his career against projected Game 5 starter Yu Darvish.
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Two doubles in Game 4 Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Harper went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI during Saturday's 10-6 win over the Padres in Game 4 of the NLCS.
Harper continued his incredible postseason at the plate Saturday, slamming his ninth and tenth extra-base hits of the playoffs and reaching nine RBI. The 30-year-old knocked Phillies starter Bailey Falter from the game with an RBI double in the first, and knocked reliever Sean Manaea from the game with an RBI double in the fifth that gave the Phillies a 7-6 lead. Harper had never batted over .294 in the postseason, but he is now hitting .410 over 39 plate appearances with a career high 10 extra-base hits. Harper is slated to face Yu Darvish in Game 5, who he has tagged for two homers in nine at bats for his career.
Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Monster performance in Game 4 Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Hoskins went 2-for-4 with two two-run home runs during Saturday's 10-6 win over the Padres in Game 4 of the NLCS.
With the Phillies trailing 4-0 in the first inning, Hoskins started a comeback with a two-run homer off Mike Clevinger, and he completed the comeback by tying the game with a two-run homer in the fifth off Sean Manaea. Hoskins is only 7-for-31 in the 2022 postseason, but four of his seven hits are homers, and he has amassed nine RBI. The 29-year-old is slated to face Yu Darvish in Game 5 with a chance to reach the World Series. Hoskins is 6-for-19 in his career against Darvish with a home run and two doubles.

Padres' Juan Soto: Smacks two-run homer Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Soto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Saturday's 10-6 loss to the Phillies in Game 4 of the NLCS.
Soto launched a hanging slider from Brad Hand 383 feet into the right field bleachers in the fifth inning, breaking the 4-4 tie and giving the Padres a 6-4 lead in Game 3, but they were unable to hold on for the win. Soto's six career postseason homers brings him into a tie with Evan Longoria for the second-most in MLB history before turning 24, trailing Carlos Correa by just one. The 23-year-old is now 10-for-43 in the postseason with six RBI, and he is slated to face Zack Wheeler in a must-win Game 5 -- Soto has two homers off Wheeler in 40 at bats for his career.
Padres' Manny Machado: Solo shot in loss Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Saturday's 10-6 loss to the Phillies in Game 4 of the NLCS.
Machado hit a 100-mph line drive off Phillies starter Bailey Falter that reached the left field bleachers to give the Padres a 1-0 lead in the first inning of Game 4. Machado has now homered in two of the past three games, and he has reached four postseason homers for the first time in his career. The 30-year-old righty also continued his streak of multi-hit performances following hitless games, which he has now accomplished in seven straight instances. Machado is slated to face starter Zack Wheeler in a must-win Game 5 -- he is 2-for-11 with two singles against Wheeler in his career.
Padres' Mike Clevinger: Struggles in Game 4 Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Clevinger was unable to record an out during Saturday's 10-6 loss to the Phillies in Game 4 of the NLCS, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out zero.
Clevinger's rough postseason continued Saturday night as he was relieved by Nick Martinez without recording an out in the first inning. The 31-year-old Clevinger was given four runs by his offense in the top of the first, but a leadoff single followed by a Rhys Hoskins homer, a walk and a Bryce Harper RBI double was enough to knock him from the game. Clevinger has now surrendered seven runs across two postseason starts while recording only eight outs in total.

GO DODGERS!!! I"m lost, when was that and what team blew that game against the Gnats? It was 2012. The Reds (much like this years Dodgers) had the best record in the league and were pretty much pulverizing everyone. They were CLEAR favourites to win it all (sound familiar?). Due to some odd scheduling, they had to go to San Francisco for the first two games, which they won and then come back to Cin City for the final three. I believe Rusty pitched Homer Bailey on short rest in the finale and he got destroyed. Cost me close to two large as we had purchased a new sectional for our great room & the furniture dealer has a program that would have paid for all purchases during a certain couple of weeks if the Reds has won the World Series. Of course, they would have still had to win the NLDS & WS, but getting knocked out in that first round was one of Rusty’s finest blunders. GO DODGERS!!!

The Phillies closed out the Padres today. They must have been Friedman's hottest team.

Just read an article about the Dodgers not yet offering contracts to Justin Turner & Bellinger. They might be ready to move on.
Then, I think, the author got carried away. He mentioned using that money to go after Aaron Judge. They might save approximately 34 million dollars. Judge would cost more than that, is pushing 30, just hit .139 in the playoffs, & the Dodgers had a HUGE payroll this year. They very well might keep that money. Go with Vargas or Rios at third. Thompson in center. Could Thompson be any worse than Bellinger has been for the last three years? I think not.

Fudge!
And, that's why I pretty much tuned out. I knew/know that as long as that dummy is in the dugout this team no matter how talented will choke. In 162 games talent will win out. You can be patient through slumps, injuries and whatnot because your team is the most talented team 1- 40 in the majors. However, in post- season there has to be urgency. Fabricate runs, pull the plug on a guy that might be going south quick and go with your best in crunch time moments. I've seen it time and time again and chose not to see it this season though the team was stacked. Davy Dumb Fuck sticks his thumb up his ass, gives us a baffled look and loses series. Somehow it doesn't compute in his mind that in post- season it's 3 to 4 loses and your out. Dude fabricate, steal, move guys, shorten up swings etc. Don't let stubborn idiots like Muncy and crew try to go over the fence every single at bat. It's just dumb! I'm thinking that the dummy would have been fired if it weren't for his skin color and shape of his eyes.
Anyway, looking forward to the off- season and probably another year of agony in the 2023 post- season.
Go Dodgers and hope everyone is good by the way.

Rios might get some DH time. Trayce should get an outfield spot, along with giving a shot to Outman. Bye Belli! Turn Kershaw into the closer! Go get someone like JD Martinez for the DH. Villains win so Carlos Correa at SS. And, a top starter because who knows about Bauer again. Bring back Heaney. And, to me Anderson peaked and had a career year, so no.

Judge should be a Yankee lifer. Hard to see him leaving there for any other team. There are many parellels between the Judge and the Babe. Both have great power, obviously. Both walk a lot. Both are pretty good in the OF, though there's no footage of the Babe in RF. I read one source years ago that he could make circus catches and had a cannon for an arm, and gunned down many runners at 2B. And both can run fast. When the Babe came along, other hitters swung for the fences and steals were pretty much shelved. In recent years, it's happened again, hence not many steals leading the leagues, but both the Babe and the Judge can steal. And the Babe hit 136 triples. HItters don't get triples unless they run fast and hit the ball in just the right spot. The Judge does seem just right for a Yankee lifer, but he did turn down an enormous contract offer earlier this season. and there's a lot of speculation that he'll be wearing the blue the next several seasons, but we'll see.

This thing to me has a certain pattern. The market came back down Friedman's way for Mookie, Bauer and Freeman. Agents aren't dumb so I would bet that they noticed the pattern and they get each team's highest offer for Judge double check that that's the best offer and don't wait and take it. I just hope it's not the VaGiants that get him! And, the Ohtani rumors are really wild. That ain't happening.

Moreno would do everything in his power to avoid seeing Ohtani in a Dodger uniform. I've seen packages including ALL our major prospects. Moreno wouldn't even consider them.
