Well I'll get it going though I was thinking that this should have gone up in Jan' 22 but whatever here we go...

Now, it looks like Scherzer will be a Met next year, and we'll see about Corey and Taylor probably before this day ends and the lockout starts.

Sounds like Scherzer to the Mets if they add a 4th year.
Which I'm fine. I've been plastering all over that I don't think highly of someone that has "body fatigue" in what was the most crucial game of the season. We've seen it over and over, overpaid, older and often injured.

I wrote about Scherzer too.

43 million a year for a 37 year old pitcher is ludicrous. We need pitching but not that damn bad. I can't see Seager coming back either. Looks like the Rangers are going hard for him, and Kershaw too. My guess is we keep Kershaw and that's it for us other than more project signings or trades.

If the Rangers are making hard plays for Seager and Kershaw then so be it and I'd welcome back the Vulture now that he's found a curveball to go along with the cutter.

BREAKING: Star shortstop Corey Seager and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a 10-year, $325 million deal, sources familiar with the situation tell ESPN.

Well there it is!
Scherzer's and Seager's money to spend. Hoping to get Bauer's too.

I like Kershaw but if the Rangers want to spend, and clearly they do, let him walk too. Really hope the Dodgers don't break the bank trying to keep him. Who else is even left after today's flurry of signings?

And, I agree that Freeman stays in ATL but how about Kris Bryant at 3B with JT as the DH? Club is still pretty good.

Let's not overlook that the team didn't have Scherzer almost all year and Seager for some of the year and did well. Stuff like that plays in these situations, you have to believe.

Bryant would great at third, but the way this off-season is going somebody is gonna way overpay for him too and it won't be LA. We can survive with our current position players, assuming Muncy and Betts are able to play a full season without surgery, but we need pitching. Buehler and Urias is it right now. Gonsolin, Price and this joker they signed Heaney isn't what I call a feared rotation after our big 2.

I’m not bitter and I don’t wish injury on anyone. But Seager has had more than a few stints on the IL in his young and limited career.
Going to a perennial loser like the Rangers for the lottery payoff is a choice he’ll probably regret and I see him much in the same light a Pollock with annual IL visits for most, if not all of this albatross contract.
As far as Scherzer goes, MASSIVE overpay by the Mutts for a 37 year old that had a dead arm at the end of the season and one has to wonder if there’s something more to that.
Looks like I might get my wish with Bells moving back to first; it doesn’t look like Muncy will be playing there this year, especially if he requires elbow surgery.
Our rotation has gone from an excess of starters in 2021 to just two young guns at this point. Can LA talk Kersh into another year or two and then can they depend on him to stay in the rotation an entire season?
Heaney and Hudson certainly don’t scream excitement based on their histories.
Taylor is a must. I can’t see a bench who’s “star” players consist of Beaty, Barnes, Neuse, Souza and McKinstry. I’m sure they don’t strike much fear into opposing pitchers.
Still some work to be done by Friedman and company, but it doesn’t look like much more, if anything will go down before the upcoming lockout. Stay tuned . . .
GO DODGERS!!!

Now our hand is being forced to import a few players, like Kris Bryant for starters, and maybe Trevor Story. We must import a good SP or two as we have to wait till after the ASB to get May back. And maybe now we have to sign Kersh for a year while Ryan Pepiot and Bobby Miller get their final year of seasoning before joining the varsity. Sad to lose Seagar, but that's the business of the sport. I'm not worried about the bullpen, though I've heard very little about Jansen's future, but if not him, why not Knebel/Treinin? AS it stands now, the '22 Dodgers won't win close to 107 games unless we rush to fill the voids and the time to do that is NOW

Gonsolin, Price and this joker they signed Heaney isn't what I call a feared rotation after our big 2. I'm thinking that Bryant is a second tier guy so the money shouldn't be an obstacle for the club. However, I think Boras is his client so we know how that goes. Javy Baez got 6 years $140 million and they're saying the Rockies are interested in Bryant so what better place than LA you make some dough and win. Yeah, the rotation seems thin and I think it gets us half a season. However, I think Friedman goes out and gets someone like a Sonny Gray to fill out the 3 top spots the 4th and 5th spots aren't nothing but aren't must fill either. To me those two spots are interchangable and Heaney and some other guys can fill them. We're hearing Matt Olson from the A's as well. I wouldn't do it. He's pretty much Bellinger with the same amount of years left of control. 3rd base is important right now because we have to assume Trea at SS, Lux at 2B and either Bellinger or Muncy at 1st.
