If we sign Suzuki, it's paramount to lock up Taylor as insurance too. We've all seen more than our share of Japanese League position players bomb at the MLB level. Taylor can play the corner outfield positions, & center for when Bellinger goes on the DL again. IL. Whatever the fuck they want to call it. Figure four years & $80,000,000 plus an option for Chris. We have Muncy for one more year. Let's try to enjoy that. He provides very good offense at an affordable price. Friedman likes these guys. Finding a Muncy seems easy until you see how rare it really is. We compare him to Turner. When did we get Justin? Then there's Taylor. Our scouting is outstanding. But the player has to be available to pick off a scrap heap. If we get Suzuki, & he isn't just Japanese League hype, you let Muncy walk & move Cody back to first in 2023. There would be no problem moving Pollock this winter after the season he had. We should even get someone good in return. Send him to the Angels for Ohtani. You may not be very high on Trea Turner, but he's an elite player. Seager gots to go under this scenario. If Betts hurts his hip I'm gonna lose it.

Wow! $20 million a year for Chrissypooh is quite a haul. I like the guy and what he does and if Seager, Scherzer and Muncy go I imagine guys like him can be kept. Trea is a skillful player without question but the only thing for me is that if he's going to get one of these albatross contracts from us he needs to start showing up in post- season at the plate. True about Muncy but money needs to be freed up and if it's between him and Bellinger at 1st, Bellinger wins it going away. Totally need Mookie healthy. I'm hearing that Suzuki is a good player. Good arm in the field with power at the plate. We'll see. Tigers are believed to be in talks with Baez. Well if so, then Kris Bryant at 3B Mr. Friedman : )

Dodgers should pursue Japanese star after rumored contract details emerge
by Thomas Carannante
The Los Angeles Dodgers are no strangers to the international market and have imported plenty of talent over the years, especially from South Korea and Japan.
Some of those names include Hyun-Jin Ryu, Chan Ho Park, Hiroki Kuroda and Hideo Nomo â all of whom were pitchers. How about a slugger this time around?
Itâs unclear how interested (if, at all) the Dodgers are in Japanese outfielder Seiya Suzuki, but at the rumored price, perhaps Andrew Friedman and Co. are considering a bit of an offseason pivot. Yes, the outfield is âsetâ with Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger and AJ Pollock, but what about beyond 2022? Will Bellinger get a long-term deal? Will Pollock be here? Wait, who even is this teamâs fourth outfielder?
Thatâs why Suzuki should be given a look. According to reports, the 27-year-old was posted by his Japanese club on Monday morning, which now gives MLB teams a chance to bring him aboard. Itâll cost a posting fee (the cost of that is unclear) and a three- to five-year deal in the $7-$10 million per season range.
Dodgers Rumors: Is Seiya Suzuki a realistic target for LA?
Yes, the Dodgersâ 40-man roster is full at the moment, but that wonât deter them from making additional impact moves. And Suzuki, at this current price, with LA closest to his native Japan, could be a worthwhile match for the Dodgers.
Will his skills fully translate to MLB? Thatâs always the paramount question. However, his production in Nippon Professional Baseball cannot be discounted. He turned pro in 2013 as an 18-year-old and has since hit .315 with a .985 OPS in 901 games. That includes 182 home runs, 562 RBI and 82 stolen bases with the Hiroshima Carp.
The Dodgers always find reps for productive fourth outfielders. We saw it as recently as Joc Pederson and KikĂ© Hernandez, and that was with a surplus of talented players. Now, with the Dodgersâ depth lacking, why wouldnât they make room for a player of Suzukiâs caliber and price, especially since the CBA talks could bring the DH to the NL?
Additionally, a deal in the three- to five-year range would effectively lock up Suzuki for the remainder of his prime and very much keep the righty slugger in line with the Dodgersâ window of contention.
With so many holes to fill and a lot of money to spend in order to keep in-house free agents or bring in others, Suzukiâs addition could be an underrated cost-effective move thatâs seemingly right up Friedmanâs alley.
