Well as for the free agent market, do we need to sign any big names like Trevor Bauer? I say our rotation is strong enough without him, but, annually, we all think of the Yanks stacking their team with imported superstars, Though it's gotten better since Hal Steinbrenner took over, it's still going on. If the Yanks don't sign Bauer, who will? And though it's a flimsy excuse, if we sign Bauer to deny the Yanks, our rotation will undeniably be stronger, but again, we don't need a huge name starter. I hope he resigns with the Reds and they get to be a power house like the Big Red Machine in the 70s. That was a fun rivalry.
I don't see any other pressing needs for us to sign a big name FA, but maybe a lesser name.

Yeah, good one, but the Angels will need a lot more than Bauer if they want to get back in the playoffs. The Angels' pitching ranked 25th in the bigs. The Angels have a major overhaul ahead of them, but they just can't part with the best player in the bigs.

San Diego is another speculated upon landing spot for Bauer. I just don't want him on the Dodgers.

And I didn't mean to co-opt a thread. I started the other one & fell asleep. Let's combine them.

Bauer was tweeting during the Padre playoff series that SD would benefit by having him pitch for them in the West against the Dodgers. Who knows if they'll work something out but he was totally asking for an interview by them.

Maybe we could package all three to Arte. A little cash to go along with it. Take whoever he offers in return other than Pujols, although that contract has to be close to done, right? GO DODGERS!!!

Liam Hendricks would be a great addition to our pen and our first Aussie since Luke Prokopec!

Liam Hendricks would be a great addition to our pen and our first Aussie since Luke Prokopec! That's what I mean. Someone like Hendricks isn't available every winter. The Dodgers are paying half Price's salary. They're on the hook for 16 million dollars in both 2021-22. They owe 8.5 million to Yasiel Sierra in 2021. Then he falls off the books. Kershaw's contract expires after 2021. Jansen is gone after 2021. Joe Kelly WILL be gone after 2022. Have we already seen the last of Jacques? Kiké? If we got a stud like Hendricks, Treinen is history. Get a reasonable replacement for Baez (a pitching machine?) from within or without, & how can the Dodgers NOT pursue a Liam Hendricks?
