Joc has NO business playing first base and if their plan is to showcase him there for a possible trade, it’s going to be a huge failure, as we just saw on that throw home. I don’t blame Joc, though. I put this solely on the shoulders of management who have shown time and again that they refuse to learn that you can’t put a square peg in a round hole. There are some guys that can play just about anywhere on the field, if asked - utility guys like Taylor, Kiké, etc. Joc has clearly shown he’s not one of those. He may not have cost them any games so far, but he certainly isn’t going to draw much interest if LA continues to play him at a position he clearly is uncomfortable and overmatched at. GO DODGERS!!! Worse still it may start to affect his hitting.

Before today Joc had a .391 SLG% playing first base. It's .573 in the outfield.

He's playing like he really doesn't want it while lowering his trade value.

A .314 OB% at first. .350 in the outfield. It's messing with his mind.

And that doesn’t include how many short hop throws he hasn’t been able to catch and those E’s being charged to the infielders throwing them. I think it’s a pretty much forgone conclusion that the Joc @ 1B experiment has been a HUGE failure. But I’m willing to bet they’ll continue to play him there. Unlike the T1000, these guys cannot seem to learn from the data (or stats) they are being provided. GO DODGERS!!!

So Dave starting Jacques at first, & having him lead off to boot, is sort of brain dead.
I sincerely hope that old voodoo strikes & Pederson hits a homerun just to make me look stupid.

I just don’t get why you put a LIFETIME outfielder at first base who has clearly shown he cannot or will not adapt to the position, while at the same time playing a gold glove and LIFETIME first baseman in the OF. GO DODGERS!!!

GO DODGERS!!! Yeah. Whatever we gain in rightfield is more than lost at first base. It’s the same thing I see every time they go with those all righty / all lefty lineups. RARELY do they work to our advantage and result in W’s. Yet the AB continues to feed them to Doc and I guarantee we will continue to see them implemented. SMFH!!! GO DODGERS!!!

C- Smith / Martin 1B - Bellinger / White / Freese 2B - Lux / Muncy 3B - Turner / Muncy SS - Seager / Lux LF - Verdugo / Pederson / Beaty CF - Pollock / Verdugo RF - Verdugo / Pederson / Bellinger Adding Lux would increase the versatility of the team greatly, without hurting the defense like Jacques is. If he would bring anything, I'd include Hernandez in a trade. Freese & Taylor come back before the end of the year. Taylor = Hernandez, plus some. The Dodgers' official depth chart doesn't even list Joc in the outfield anymore. losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/team/depth_chart/index.jsp?c_id=la
