I did this with Puig last year and gave up after like his 12th lol. I wanted to see how many of those homeruns actually helped the team win a close game and were not just hit in garbage time. So of the 12 first hit 8 were in what I consider garbage time which to me is not tying the score or putting the team up by 1- 2 runs or putting the team within 1- 2 runs of tying the score.
Joc has 18 homeruns.
Homerun #1, the team is ahead 1- 0 he puts it up 3- 0
#2, the is ahead 7- 1 ups the score 9- 1
#3, the team is behind 0- 1 he ties it at 1-1
#4, the team is behind 0- 2 he puts us within a run at 1- 2
#5, the team is behind 3- 4 he puts us up 4- 3
#6, the team is ahead 2- 0 he puts us up 3- 0
#7, the team is behind 2- 3 he wins the game 4- 3
#8, the team is ahead 1- 0 he puts us up 3- 0
#9, the team is tied 0- 0 he puts us up 1- 0
#10, the team is ahead 4- 0 he puts us up 5- 0
#11, the team is tied 0- 0 he puts us up 1- 0
#12, the team is ahead 2- 0 he puts us up 3- 0
#13, the team is behind 0- 1 he puts us ahead 2- 1
#14, the team is ahead 2- 0 he puts us up 3- 0
#15, the team is ahead 4- 3 he puts us up 5- 3
#16, the team is behind 5- 8 he puts us within 6- 8
#17, the team is tied 2- 2 he puts us ahead 3- 2
#18, the team is ahead 6- 0 he puts us up 8- 0
Well well, in looking at his homeruns I would say that 12 of the 18 have helped this team out in one way or another. That's good in comparison to Puig last year. Joc is probably the weakest outfielder in terms of speed and arm but at this rate he should get this team something very valuable in a trade or if he can help this team out if he keeps it going and stays.

It's probably too late to turn him into a 1st baseman.

At the very most I see 2 that were possibly not "meaningful".
Up 4-0 in the top of the 4th is still "meaningful". Down 8-5 in the 9th is absolutely "meaningful". Extending 1 and 2 run leads also 100% "meaningful".

Not really room for any debate. I've seen early 4-0 leads disappear almost every day.
4-0 after 3 innings is not in any way an insurmountable lead. A run there is 100% meaningful without question.
I have also seen a team hit 4 HRs in a row down 4 runs in the 9th. Remember? Were those all meaningless at the time? I saw the Red Sox blow a 3 run lead in the 9th just a few days ago.
You can't wait until after a game is over to categorize the HR. Not trying to be argumentative but that's ridiculous.

He could still eat himself into it. Is it too late to try him at 2nd If Juan Pierre could do it. Who was it that suggested Pierre be tried at second base? That was so long ago I forgot.

I've seen the 4 homeruns and it's probably easier to run into one up 4 or down 4 then it is down 1 or up 1. I haven't seen 4- 0 leads disappear almost everyday that is a dramatic exaggeration.

It happens quite often. Twins almost blew a 7-0 lead yesterday. Braves blew a 3-0 lead. Saturday: Brewers blew a 5-0 lead. Mets blew a 4-0 lead. Friday: Giants blew a 5-0 lead.
Thursday: Snakes blew a 3-0 lead. Rockies blew a 8-5 lead.
Wednesday: Rangers blew a 3-0 lead. White Sox blew a 7-1 lead. Mets blew a 3-0 lead. Mets blew a 8-3 lead. Tuesday: Cards blew a 3-0 lead. Red Soc blew a 3-0 lead. Royals blew a 3-0 lead. Astros blew a 6-3 lead. Angels blew a 4-1 lead. Monday: Indians blew a 3-0 lead. Twins blew a 4-0 lead.
Like I said, it happens almost every day.

Other teams don't concern at all. This is about Joc Pederson who plays for the Dodgers. So it doesn't happen almost everyday on the 41- 19 NL West Division leading team.
