I'm watching The Green Knight & so far all I can say is - what the fuck? Who invested in this trash? Glad I skipped that one. Watched two of the three newer / latest Planet of the Apes films & have the third cued up for later tonight. Really enjoyed the first two and looking forward to the final installment with Woody Harrelson tonight. GO DODGERS!!!

42 just went off. I especially like the part when Eddie Stanky asked Ben Chapman what it feels like to be a cracker son of a bitch.

I watched Battle For the Planet of the Apes again & it made a lot more sense. Woody Harrelson was looking at the extinction of the human race. Or at the very least our mastery of the planet. Caesar seemed to understand. At the same time, he had to look out for his own species. The end was a combination of Jesus & Moses. Caesar was stabbed in the side by an arrow. He managed to get his people to their promised land & then died. Woody Harrelson killed himself once he had been infected. Better dead than a dumb animal.

Black KkKlansman is on with John David Washington. I've never watched this much of it. It's pretty good.

Black KkKlansman is on with John David Washington. I've never watched this much of it. It's pretty good. I tried watching it one night / early morning after a few too many cold ones and kept nodding off. What I remember was pretty good and I kept meaning to check it out again when I wasn’t so “tired”, but never did. Good reminder! GO DODGERS!!!

At the end when Washington was reading off the names used by bigots for black people. "Mississippi windchime." I had to think on that for a second. Oh! I get it.

I watched The Seventh Seal with Demi Moore the other day. Strong anti-abortion movie. She was forced to choose her life or her baby's. Deep. I highly recommend it.

Patton is on. The one thing about these old masterpieces is there's not enough extras for the battle scenes. Did Troy use computer animation to create the storming of the beach scene? Unfortunately, the creators of this film weren't able to do the battles justice.
Great performance by George C. Scott.
I once thought about writing a screenplay for Hannibal. Why has no one ever done a great movie on one of the greatest general of all time? I have books on Hannibal, Scipio, Rome & Carthage. The way Scipio turned the old lion into a student at Zama.

Top Gun - Maverick on tap tonight via big screen and D-Box seating.
Thirty five years in the making. Was it worth the wait? A big and definite YES from this movie goer.
Multiple excellent flying sequences, a good story with several backstories and subplots.
An old flame (played by the hotter with age Jennifer Connolly) was never quite explained, but that was probably the only minor flaw in the entire two and a half hours.
Even a few homages and references to the original, including a couple of the exact same lines.
“Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins kicked the movie off with multiple F-18 launches from an aircraft carrier that were felt every time in the special vibrating and moving D-Box seats.
As the movie closed with the credits rolling and Lady Gaga’s latest “Hold My Hand” (which I also am a huge fan of), I couldn’t help but to think back to when I took a first date to see the original film back in ‘86.
It was the very first movie I purchased on Beta. And I STILL have that original copy as well as a working Sony Super Betamax player.
I’ll throw it in every year or so and it still plays well on my 70” and 12 speaker surround system. Obviously not as good as the theater, but pretty damn close.
I give Maverick a full ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️.
Already have tix next week in the same theater and D-Box seats to see the final Jurassic Park. Looking forward to it and its forthcoming review.
GO DODGERS!!!

Real Genius is on. I always liked the smart aleck role Val Kilmer played. Didn’t realize he was fighting the big C (throat) at the time they were filming this sequel. Guess he’s doing better and in full recovery now with a voice box aid that allows him to speak in his own, rather than robotic voice. Electronics are amazing! GO DODGERS!!!
