Watching the remake of True Grit. Did people every actually talk like that? I wondered in the original. It has been awhile since I saw the original with The Duke, but I didn’t remember his or any of the dialogue being as “broken” as the remake, which I liked a lot. I think I remember reading or hearing that it was the first film with multiple Oscar nominations that failed to take one home for any of the categories. The little girl in the film was the debut of Hailee Steinfeld and she has gone on to writing, performing and producing her own music as well as breaking into the fashion industry with a line of eyeglass frames and other wares. GO DODGERS!!! |

GO DODGERS!!! They were both stiff like that. It was a good story sort of loused up by the fact I just KNOW people couldn't have talked like that. |

At my 25 year class reunion, I was invited by everyone's fantasy. "You wanna come with?" Before, her husband had expressed zero interest in attending. Suddenly he shows up. Everyone hated that guy.

The original Rocky just went off. Watched a bit of III (how can you resist Mr T and his superb acting skills? Prediction? PAIN!) and IV (another Oscar worthy performance by Dolph (If he dies, he dies. / I must break you!). Another franchise that probably should have stopped after the second flick. Still gotta admire a lug like Stallone writing and starring in what ended up winning the Best Picture Academy Award that year. GO DODGERS!!! |

A friend of mine worked in a bank across the street from their studio. Man, the way he would talk about Mr. T.
