So I’ve watched all four Lethal Weapons over the last few days that were running back to back to back to back on STARZ Encore. No - I didn’t watch all four in a row as they ran yesterday during the Super Bowl.
The first one is still my favourite, but II is a close second with the very tasty Patsy Kensit and Leo with the line of the century that still rings true and that I continue to use to this day - “They FUCK YOU at the drive-thru!”
III and IV were watchable, but they could have stopped after the second one and I’d have been okay with it.
This should probably go in the TV thread, but I actually liked the series that ran a couple of years on Fox with Damon Wayons. They even killed off the Riggs character and replaced him with Stiffler from the American Pie series and it was still entertaining.

I remember really liking the first one. I couldn't wait for the sequel. I did see promos about the TV show but never checked it out.

I did see promos about the TV show but never checked it out. The TV show leaned more on the comedic element & Wayans was really good as Murtaugh. The guy that played Riggs was also VERY good, but evidently he & Wayans had issues and because he was the bigger star, they made the dude playing Riggs seem like a douche / diva and expendable. Then the following year with Stiffler as his new partner, Wayans turned out to be the REAL diva, making demands that he would only work certain minimal hours on certain days, etc. Pretty much killed the show after only two seasons. GO DODGERS!!!

I guess they figured they had already replaced Riggs after one season and replacing Wayans after only the second season might have been too much for the audience to accept. It did pretty good in the ratings that first year but dropped off a bit in the second. Still was around the middle of the pack but without Wayans probably wouldn’t have lasted more than a few weeks of Season 3. Plus I believe I read it was one of the most expensive shows on TV because they were heavy on stunts, car chases, blowing things up, etc., much like the movies. GO DODGERS!!!

Lay The Favorite was on HBO tonight. This must’ve been one of Bruce Willis’ latest straight to video films as I truly never remember ever seeing it or ads for it at any local cineplexes.
It’s based on a true story of a Las Vegas bookmaker (Willis as Dink) who takes in a new, young Florida transplant and shows her how a good deal of betting takes place, how odds are changed as well as the highs and lows of gambling as a profession.
Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Dink’s trophy and typical money hungry wife and there are a few other name actors (Joshua Jackson, Vince Vaughn and Laura Prepon - Donna from That 70’s Show - who is topless within the first 15 or so minutes and has a pretty nice rack!).
Not bad, but nothing to write home about and fairly obvious why it was not released in theaters. Two baseballs.
GO DODGERS!!!

Be Cool was on last night. That's the second installment of Get Shorty. John Travolta plays an ultra-cool loan shark who gets the better of his nemesis in both movies. Dennis Farina in the first one. Harvey Keitel in the second. Vince Vaughn is in this movie too. Like in Jr's movie review. He plays an annoying wannabe hip-hop agent without enough melanin to pull it off. Dwayne Johnson is his HUGE but effeminate bodyguard. A twist on James Gandolfini's role in Get Shorty. Cedric the Entertainer plays the real hip-hop artist remixer, who has a classic confrontation with a Russian mobster who takes the racial thing a step too far. Who wouldn't have wanted to do Christina Milian? Uma Thurman looks pretty tasty too.

Halle Berry Describes First Time Making Out With Another Woman
Daisy Maldonado 14 hrs ago
While we all have very different first kiss experiences, there are a few things we have in common when it comes to that initial smooch: it’s exciting, awkward, and, well, totally nerve-wracking. When we reflect on our thoughts just before that memorable first kiss, a few lingering questions came to mind, namely, what are we supposed to do with our lips?! And French kissing? Well, that’s a completely different beast. Actress Halle Berry recently recounted her first kiss experience, and she made sure she was prepared when she decided she wanted to plant one on her boyfriend. In fact, she revealed that she had a little help from her best girlfriend at the time to practice her kissing moves.
As usual, Berry spilled it all on an episode of her Instagram Live show “Bad & Booshy.” She began the story of her first kiss by simply saying, “My first kiss…was a girl.” She added, “cause I had this boyfriend named LaShawn Boyd and I wanted to French kiss him. But I didn’t know how to French kiss, so I got my best girlfriend at the time to show me how to French kiss so I could French kiss him.”
She continued, “So she came over to my house and kissed me for like 30 minutes. Literally showed me how to French kiss a boy. And then the next night, I went and French kissed LaShawn Boyd.” Honestly, we give serious props to Berry’s friend for being willing to help a friend in need one time around, never mind for 30 minutes.
Hey, who needs to practice with cherry stems when you have a friend like Berry’s?!

The Call of the Wild with Harrison Ford was on tonight based on the book by Jack London. I believe this was the third time around for this story.
It starts with a HUGE unruly dog that lives with the mayor and his family of a small Yukon town during the gold rush. Buck pretty much has his run of the town until he is stolen and sold to run on a sled dog team.
Buck briefly runs into Ford by returning a harmonica he found that Ford had dropped. He is eventually sold to a Post Office delivery team that runs between the two major towns and becomes the Alpha of the team.
The delivery service is terminated and the team is put back up for sale to prospectors looking for gold. They are then sold and teamed with an obnoxious man and his wife who have the dogs hauling them and every possession they own.
Ford is eventually reunited with Buck and they go on an adventure to an “off the map” area where gold is EVERYWHERE. In the meantime, Buck begins to venture further and further into his heritage with a pack of wolves.
I really liked the movie and it was pretty amazing how REAL they made all of the animated animals look, Buck included. There are other subplots that I will leave to the viewer, but I give it a solid four baseballs.
GO DODGERS!!!

Watching the remake of True Grit. Did people every actually talk like that? I wondered in the original.
