Yeah, it has to be English lots of Brit actors in it. I know which one you are talking about with Willis and Gere. I thought it was so- so. Willis came across as a gay Jackal for some reason lol. But you're totally right the remake was overkill. Willis is one of those actors that if you give him a good role he can kill it. Unfortunately he's been typecast as the cool guy & gets shallow roles. He, Arnold and Mel Gibson were three of the top dogs in Hollywood for quite awhile there. When was the last time any of them had a “blockbuster”? I’ve seen quite a few of their recent movies on our multiple channels that I don’t think were ever even released in theaters, even before the Covid. And they were not good. One with Willis was filmed here in Cincinnati that I didn’t even know about and probably with good reason because it was just awful. Mel pretty much sabotaged his career with his domestic and anti semantic rants and issues, but he will still be remembered and revered for Braveheart and the Lethal Weapon series. Bruce will always have Die Hard and Arnold the Terminator series. But like everything and everyone, time and Hollywood have moved on from them and onto the next new generation of actors. GO DODGERS!!!

As usual, the original is better than the remake. It's British though, right? Like most British productions, it drags at times. But the remake overkilled. That Gatling Gun, or whatever Bruce Willis used, was over the top. Richard Gere's Irish brogue was unconvincing. Yeah, it has to be English lots of Brit actors in it. I know which one you are talking about with Willis and Gere. I thought it was so- so. Willis came across as a gay Jackal for some reason lol. But you're totally right the remake was overkill. Damn it! I should have recorded it before falling asleep. I searched it to try to finish it and it was no longer available. I have Spectrum. I'll try on Netflix or Hulu.

Battleship is on right now. Not particularly deep. Entertaining though.

Brooklyn's Finest was on at the same time as...I forget. Damn. I was really drunk. It was a good night for TV though.

Training Day & The Godfather Part II are both on right now. Damn! Tough choice there! Remember Picture in Picture? Think that was one of Lee’s proudest acquisitions. GO DODGERS!!! Such a classic scene when Denzel gets riddled with bullets. You know those Russians were going to kill him anyway. They were just making him sweat, & who knows? He might have come up with the money too. Of all the gangsters Mario Puzo drew from to create Don Corleone, it had to be Frank Costello he was thinking of the most. The transfer of power from father to son was the Bonanno family. The attempt on Don Corleone's life was Vincent Gigante shooting Costello. Bill Bonanno married Rosalie Profaci. Joe Profaci's niece. That had to be the famous wedding scene. The older mobster who was drunk & complaining about a couple of brothers who were interfering in his operations had to be Joe Profaci, who was battling a rebellion by the Gallo brothers. Moe Green was a cross between Bugsy Siegel (who got shot in the eye, like in the movie) & Gus Greenbaum. Of course Hyman Roth was Meyer Lansky. Michael himself was Carlo Gambino. A masterpiece.

You certainly know your gangsters! I saw Bugsy with Warren Beatty not too long ago. Didn’t think I was going to like it but ended up thinking it was pretty good. Siegel himself was a genius to build the Flamingo where he did. We actually have stayed there a couple of times while in Sin City. First time our room was looking straight down on the strip and the fountains at Bellagio. Sweet view, but no matter how high we turned the AC, it never cooled down. That blistering sun all day into that glass front didn’t even get cool at night. Next time we stayed in the back overlooking the pool - much better. They have a pretty cool walk around featuring all types of birds and of course, pink flamingos. Won some decent jackpots there as well! GO DODGERS!!!

Even though Mickey Cohen is never actually portrayed, this is the best Mickey Cohen movie ever.
Bugsy was good. But it was about Siegel.

Watching LA Confidential. LOVE that movie. And even though he might be a perv, I’ve been a HUGE Kevin Spacey fan since he first showed up as Mel Profitt on the old Wiseguy series. “Only the toes knows”. Dude is just a GREAT actor. I can’t think of one thing I’ve seen him in I didn’t enjoy. His last series House of Cards was brilliant. He was every lying, sleazy, ruthless politician we’ve seen over the last few decades all rollled up in one. GO DODGERS!!!

Fair to middling in The Usual Suspects too.
