This little dude is a vacuum cleaner. I've yet to see him throw up anything. It's hard to feed the other cats because he finishes his own food & comes over. Just now he was hiding under a chair because I shooed him away from something for Snowball & Sleet. "I'm not mad at you. Gonna have to figure something out though." The plate was clean. Harper does that to Izzie ALL the time, especially when it comes to treats. We basically have to put our foot or leg in between the two of them so Izzie can get hers because Harper gobbles hers down so fast. And they both have the brain pan and memory of a chickpea. They get treats once a day, usually in the morning when my wife gets up and works from home. When she goes into the office (alternating two or three days every week), they get them when she gets home. But every single time she goes anywhere near the door to the steps down to our basement, they’re there immediately meowing like “IT’S TREAT TIME”!!! Wife thinks they both have Alzheimer’s. GO DODGERS!!!

Soot showed up just in time for lunch. Amazing coincidence. He seemed okay. I couldn't SEE any slash on his face.
Sleet is molting again. This has been on & off ever since that butt kicking she took, two years ago.

Soot showed up & Shadow just got a stern lecture from the ladies.
I went to feed Soot. On the porch. As soon as Shadow hears a can open, he's all over me. Knock it off! I've had dogs that eat less than you. I have no idea what he did to piss off the girls. Sleet hissed at him. That's normal. So he walks into the kitchen. Snowball hisses & takes a swipe at him. That's not normal. He walks back into the living room. Sleet takes a swipe at him. He stands in front of the door. Soot growls at him. By now he's thoroughly flummoxed & retreats. I open the door & feed Soot. Soot must have been mad I wasn't letting him in. He jumped up & sort of slapped my leg. What the fuck? I stomped my feet & Soot goes flying. Hehe.
The upshot is Shadow backed away when I opened the door again. The men took a beating. The women must be laughing at the stupid guys in their lives.

Yesterday I yelled at Shadow again because of his greediness. He was chasing me around, trying to get ALL the food before it was even put out. "STOP! STOP IT!!" I was right in his face. He was obviously frightened. I felt like such a heel. This morning he waited to be fed. That was a first. He shared with Snowball. Shocking. Sleet was eating off a separate plate. He didn't hound her. He ate what was left of her food after she walked away. He got it. He's a good little guy. What were they feeding him in that shelter?

I kicked Axl once back when he was a young and feisty brat. I had just purchased a new Harley Davidson wallet for @ $100 bucks and had left it on the table where I always did. Well - it was brand new leather, something he couldn’t resist and decided it was going to be his new chew toy. He left teeth marks ALL over it and I was ROYALLY pissed because I rarely replace my wallets because it takes me SO long to find one with the right number of slots for credit cards, etc. He ran upstairs but before he could get away I gave him the boot and he bounced off the hallway wall. I NEVER felt worse as a person than I did the second I saw him run away. Of course, he eventually forgave me and actually became MY cat after my Murphy died as the new kitten (Izzie) took to my wife right away and Axl was now second fiddle to her. He was my best buddy for the last five or six years he lived. My wife had to put him down the day after I left for my monthly work trip up to Toledo. I cried like a baby that night at the Red Roof. He was almost 20. GO DODGERS!!!

He had been growling at Snowball & Sleet too. To get all the food. They would hiss in return. I was shocked that he ate right alongside Snowball. No growling. No hissing.
He's certainly not dumb.

Shadow is so afraid of Sleet. We were all on the bed this morning. Shadow moves around & Sleet hisses & takes a swipe. Shadow comes to me for protection. During the night, Sleet reclaimed her spot on my lap.
The thing is Sly NEVER would have taken this shit from Sleet. Sleet is still much bigger than Shadow. He's a gentle little guy. Just a bottomless pit when it comes to eating. Which means he's going to get much bigger.
You never know what kind of life these cats have had when you get them from the pound or SPCA. Shadow might have had to fight for his food. Armando has never liked Sleet. Made fun of her girth. On the two I got (Tessa got the other two for me), Armando was like - "You really scored with these two." Sleet might hide when he comes around. These two want to be petted.

Shadow was just eating a napkin. This is a goat. Axl used to LOVE napkins. We couldn’t even leave them out anywhere. And both he and Murphy loved toilet paper. We always (and to this day) had to keep the doors shut to all three of our bathrooms. Otherwise, we’d come home to either a roll with a big chunk missing from its side or an unrolled pile on the bathroom floor. On occasion, they’d drag it out of the bathrooms and the inside of our house would look like our neighborhood trees around Halloween each year. Not that I EVER took place in any TPing back then. But I heard stories . . . GO DODGERS!!!

I had to swat Shadow this morning. He just won't let me get their food ready, or the girls to eat. He jumped up on the stove & flipped his plate over, spilled some milk, & went after the girls' plate. I swatted him & he ran & hid. He's laying on my lap right now. Hopefully, he gets it now. He watched Snowball eat. THEN he ate what was left.

This little guy is stuck to me. He just won't let go.
I've taken to giving them all smorgasbords. A little of this. A little of that. So far there's been no puking. I guess each cat eats what they want. And they want a lot.
Best fed cats on the block.

I guess each cat eats what they want. And they want a lot. Best fed cats on the block. Harper just came in to see me in my office. She’s not very social, doesn’t like to be picked up or held and only gets in lap time when she’s cold. She went into one of her rapid fire sneeze fits, something she has done since we first got her as a kitten. She’ll rattle off 10 - 15 in a row, sometimes so violent she actually leaves the ground. I feel so bad for her when it happens and can’t imagine just how painful it is for her. But our vet has told us she just has allergies just like us and there’s not a whole lot that we can do for her other than let her “sneeze it out”. I used to have REALLY bad allergies and hayfever as a kid. Had to get a shot and take pills daily. But I pretty much outgrew them and now only get the sneezies when the pollen count is high, like this past weekend. GO DODGERS!!!
