It's just Sandy & the two gray kittens. That figures. The black ones were cuter. The gray ones look like alley cats. I can't be the only one feeding them though. They don't go through that much of my food. I came within a few feet of one of the kittens today. It was sitting on the wall as I was putting out a dish of food. It looked scared. These cats are growing up in the wild, for all intents & purposes. I'm glad they have each other. For the longest time I always “heard” and thought of that as “for all intensive purposes”. It wasn’t until recently that I learned differently - DOH!!! GO DODGERS!!! We all have adages we flub.

"I could care less." That's sort of a pet peeve. Very petty pet peeve. Taken literally, that would mean you COULD care less. It's - "I couldn't care less."

The cats outside are crying in the rain. Reminds me of Sly. That was so sad. I put him outside when he started to shit on the rug. Then the rains came. He couldn't hear me calling to him. But there's nothing I can do for these cats. They have the crawl space under the house. Can you imagine the fleas? That's IF I could get them in here.

Sleet has been chewing up her ass again lately. I saw a couple lesions.
"Snowball - have you been picking on Sleet?" But her claws are still too short to do that.
It's Soot. He camps out on the porch. I've gotten fleas. I haven't seen any on Snowball yet. They would be easy to spot on her. So I put some Advantage on Sleet at lunch. I have one dose left. Soot gets that tomorrow. His owners be damned. There is no way they let that cat inside with all those fleas.

Fed Soot this morning. I didn't see any sign of the Advantage I put on him the other day. I can't believe his owners brushed it off. But I pet him & there are no flea bites. It must have worked.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Soot is in here. It felt safe to let him back in again.
Of course, Snowball drags my black work shirt on the floor & lays on it. Why couldn't you let Soot do that?

Soot jumped up on the bed. Snowball was showing off. Rolling around. Then she rolled right over a dish that I had eaten the last of some chorizo off of.
"Snowball! Come here!"
She ran away & I had to chase her down under the kitchen table. She wrestled while I gave her a sponge bath. Soot was like - hell with this & asked to go back out.
No. It's not always like that around here, little guy.

Soot laid on the bed for a while today. Watched Snowball rolling around & squealing when I would tickle her. I believe he thinks she's insane. Not sure he isn't right.

Ours are driving the wife mental this year. They’re normally fairly apathetic about our live Christmas tree, but this year they both seem more than fascinated with it and its ornaments. They also seem to enjoy running at it and then sliding on the tree skirt which is like a skating rink on our hardwood floor. Of course, I don’t help matters by laughing at and not scolding them. Kitties gonna kitty. GO DODGERS!!!

Guess he bumped into something. So much for Santa Claus. But that's what we love about pets. They're children forever. Kids grow up & leave. Pets are forever your children.

I hope I did the right thing.
Soot showed up badly wounded. I'm not sure what it is. An abscess? Just a big white lump on his right front leg. He's limping badly. I called animal control. Shit. If I have to, I'll have them do the work & then adopt him. He would be right across the street to whatever it is that's supposed to be home to him anyway.
I'd like to burn those people with cigarettes for the way they treat him. Why is he always so hungry? Why did I have to get flea repellant?

That bitch left yesterday without taking Soot. He was in here. I didn't put him in a cage. Took the cunt like an hour & 40 minutes to show up. So she shows up with a cage. Soot sees her & limps behind the couch. She says she can come back tomorrow, or even the next day. The only thing I can imagine is she wanted the cat already caged. Then why did you bring your own cage? Were you planning on beaming him in?
More & more I think he has a broken ankle. Displaced fracture. I haven't seen him today. I just looked outside for roadkill. I think he lives across the street. He could easily get run over right now. He can't get out of the way.
I should have FORCED that bitch to stay. Then she might have offed him on the trip back to the pound. Anyone that callous, it's possible.

SOMETHING ate Soot's food during the night. I haven't seen him.
Anyone with any ideas on what to do if he limps by? If he's still limping like that, then nothing has been done. He could get an infection & die. The people I spoke to the other day made it sound like they have vets they work with. But if the animal has to be put down, then he's put down. I would have to cage him & take him somewhere.
Fuck. I don't know. He's such a nice little guy. Beautiful cat too. He deserves better than this.

Not a day goes by on Twitter where somebody doesn’t post something about finding an abandoned pup or kitty on the side of the road and then taking them and adopting them. I can’t imagine how twisted one has to be to do that to a poor innocent animal that only wants to love and be loved. Simply breaks my heart being an animal lover that some people think of them as new toys that they can throw away when they’re tired or bored with them. Good luck with Soot - I hope maybe you’ll be able to catch and get him to a vet so he can get that leg fixed up. GO DODGERS!!!
