Went by the local vet's office yesterday. Surreal experience. The door was unlocked. I walked in & not a sign of life. I wandered around looking for someone. Anyone. No one was home. Figuring I've been recorded, I picked up the phone & called them to tell them you left your front door unlocked. Facing the boulevard like it does, I'm surprised the place hasn't been ransacked. You better get down here right away & lock the joint up. I identified myself in case of maybe getting a future favor from this skinflint. Never heard a word back. Okay. I covered my ass. Soot is in here right now. Sleet is thinking she wants to go out again. She's been mostly inside for over a year. I had to go off & leave her outside while I got them food. I hate the idea of her going back out because of that terrible ass kicking she took. Then Snowball will want to go outside too. There are just too many cats out there since Sly passed away. Soot came in here in a mood. He hissed at Sleet. Snowball. Me. "Oh shut up!" Then he ate & started clawing a rug. That's universal among cats. They know it annoys people. He wanted to go back out. I told Sleet if you can't handle this guy inside, what happens when you're both outside? Kiss his ass. You need friends. Don’t see a lot of strays around here. Every now and then, but I think most of the cat owners in our subdivision keep them inside. We’ve got a bit of a coyote problem in the area, so any outside animals pretty much have to watch their six. Actually saw one walking down the middle of our street a few weeks ago. I initially thought it was a stray dog until it got a bit closer. My wife said there’s an entire pack of them living fairly close to where she works, which is only a few miles away. GO DODGERS!!!

Some alarmist from the SPCA told me about coyotes or wolves. I haven't ever seen any. There are a legion of cats around here since Sly passed away. Stopped by the vet's office on some rounds this morning. It's been over a year. The doctor will have to see your pet again. You're welcome. I knew it. This guy is SUCH a black hearted mercenary.

Soot has been in a while today. He even followed me outside & then back in. Snowball & he were touching noses. He might be starting to think of this as home. He's still pretty dang skinny. For as much as he eats, his owner must not be feeding him enough.

Soot is in here. The right side of his face is swollen. I'm beginning to think this cat has allergies. First a paw. Now his face. His paw returned to normal within days.
At least he got some chicken & milk over here.

At least he got some chicken & milk over here. That’s certainly a possibility. Our youngest was pretty sickly when she was born, almost to the point that we almost backed out of buying her. To this day, every now and then she’ll get into these sneezing fits where she rapid fires a half dozen or more sneezes within a couple of seconds. Our vet said it was just dust and allergies and she’s never been on any type of medication for it. It looks like it REALLY hurts her, but she always seems fine after she gets them all out. Funny little creatures, our kitties! GO DODGERS!!!

Soot ate some tuna & is laying on the couch. I got a good look at his face. It's not as swollen as before. There's a big fucking gash in his face. Must have been a cat fight.
I'm glad he was waiting for me.

He's still in here. I think he's afraid to go out. He stood in front of the door last night, so I opened it. He looked outside but wouldn't GO outside. He ate a good breakfast of canned cat food & milk this morning.
I can't afford to take this cat to the vet. But he chose me over his owner. If he has a chip, I could find out who the owner is by taking him to a vet. Then burn the motherfucker's house down.
Sly was HUGE. No one ever screwed with him. Soot is maybe half that size. There are so many cats out there since Sly passed away.

It's official. I'm the crazy cat lady from The Simpson's.
It was obvious Soot could never be mine. I haven't seen him in a while. Hopefully he's okay. But he's an outside cat. An alley cat. I can't afford to take him to the vet every time he gets in a fight.
I just got a new cat. Black. Shadow. He's about 8 months old. Friendly little guy. Sleet & Snowball are confused. Shadow is hissing & growling. He's been fixed & chipped though. He'll adjust. They'll adjust. Snowball will have someone to play with. Sleet is just too old to rough house with Snowball.

This cat is very friendly. He comes to me for attention. Snowball spent the first two weeks here hiding in a kitchen cabinet. Not that she isn't friendly. She is. But she was very shy & scared. Shadow walks right up to me & loves being pet.
Sleet is going to be the prima donna again. That much is obvious.

Classic. Snowball is curious about her new roomie. Shadow is laying on the bed beside me. Snowball comes in from time to time. Sleet jumped on the bed & came nose to nose with Shadow. She hissed & jumped back down. Shadow had a look like - 'What the hell just happened?' Pobre Sleet. She's funny. The angry curmudgeon of the family. I pointed to the scar tissue on her ass yesterday & said this is what that attitude has gotten you.

Shadow is on my lap right now.
'MY human!'
Snowball & Sleet brought this on.

Heard Snowball & Shadow chasing each other during the night. We're all in the bedroom right now. Snowball on one side. Shadow on the other. Sleet on the couch. I was petting her this morning.
"We're just the seniors here right now. Gotta make room for the newer generation."
I didn't want Snowball aging prematurely to fit in with Sleet.

Just watched Snowball chase Shadow in here & take a swipe at him. Too funny. She finally has a playmate.

This little dude is a vacuum cleaner. I've yet to see him throw up anything. It's hard to feed the other cats because he finishes his own food & comes over. Just now he was hiding under a chair because I shooed him away from something for Snowball & Sleet.
"I'm not mad at you. Gonna have to figure something out though."
The plate was clean.
