I was a little confused at the signing because he won't be pitching. Also, we want Smith's bat in the lineup. Ohtani would DH 150 games a year. Maybe there would be times when you put in a better fielder than Muncy, but keep his fan in the lineup. But here we are. Hoping this doesn't escalate. MLB & other sports created this culture. They got in bed with dogs. They got covered with fleas. It was inevitable. Ohtani would have been one of the last I'd suspect. So how much of this is going on? |

And I'd still suspect Moreno is behind both this & the bit about Ohtani's contract being illegal. This dude is seriously disturbed. He fucked Torii Hunter over. He gave $125,000,000 to a crack addict. What could possibly go wrong? He gave Pujols a steroid era contract. I think Albert stopped juicing the moment he got that contract. Why risk the money?
Ohtani takes the Dodgers' offer back to Moreno. Give him a chance to match it. Arte declines. The Dodgers sign Shohei & Moreno takes down his mural in a couple of hours. The contract Moreno read gets investigated. Now Shohei is getting investigated.
Moreno looked good compared to McCourt. He looks like shit on his own.

Hey everyone, check out the new threat, 2024 Dodgers! Does anyone REALLY think MLB is going to go after Oh like Giamatti did Rose? Not bloody likely. I doubt he get anything more than a “good talkin’ to” about associating with criminals and this will all disappear, much like Obama’s chef and Clinton “associates”. What a COMPLETE disaster it would be if Oh WAS found to be betting on baseball. Ignorance could not be his defense after this many years in the league. And what if Yamaha turns out to be a bust? That’s nearly a BILLION, yes billion with a “B” on a dude that may never throw another pitch in a MLB park and a significantly over valued and over rated hack. I hear Trevor Bauer is still available . . . GO DODGERS!!! |

Living in Rose’s hometown and a huge part of his fan base, you can bet your sweet bippy there will be cries of reinstatement and INSTANT HOF election. Even my own mom who doesn’t like him as a person STILL to this day defends the slug and feels he shouldn’t continue to be punished. The biggest issue with Pete was / is his CONTINUED DENIAL that he ever bet for or against the teams he played on or managed (he DID!). Pete lied for decades about never betting on baseball; then he finally admitted to doing so when he needed to sell a few books, but to this day refuses to admit his biggest sin. And as someone who could and did control the outcome of games, that can NEVER be forgiven and the lifetime ban that HE signed and AGREED TO should never be rescinded. I saw the story about Oh & the Porsche awhile back on Twitter. I’d have held out for a Ferrari. GO DODGERS!!! |

He needs to pay the fine and get this mess behind him. We don't need to be burned twice in as many days: Yamaha got pounded yesterday and now this, over a billion big ones down the drain? |

Option decision: Exercised $22.5 million player option (per MLB.com)
D-backs owner Ken Kendrick >>>took the blame<<< for what he called the >>>"horrible decision" and "biggest mistake"<<< to sign Montgomery last spring, which was perhaps not the best start to the offseason. Regardless, it was always likely Montgomery would pick up his player option after pitching to a 6.23 ERA and being demoted to the bullpen late in the season. It seems likely the D-backs will trade him this offseason. They may have to eat money and/or take a bad contract back to make it work, though it's hard to believe he'll be with Arizona to begin 2025 after Kendrick's comments.
