I'll open with offering Martinez a one year contract for $15,000,000, plus a one year team option at $10,000,000 with clauses for plate appearances. Maybe a $3,000,000 buyout.

Dump Muncy, Taylor, Kiké, Rojas, Peralta, Heyward and Barnes. Get an ace starter or two who can give us seven innings per start. Get a SS & 3B that can field their positions and hit .300. Get a decent backup for Smith behind the plate. And dump the analytical puppets. It’s a HUGE slate to fill, but if we’re ever going to keep playing into LATE October, ownership is going to have to address most, if not ALL of the above. GO DODGERS!!!

Taylor is making 20 million dollars a year. I'd bring Rojas back. Heyward too. That's if he'll accept the role. Field AND hit .300? There aren't many of those. What pitchers are hitting free agency this winter?

What pitchers are hitting free agency this winter? Yes - my shopping list is long and a long shot at best. But short of blowing up the whole team, these are areas all in need of being addressed. Lux should be back to add some pop to the lineup. But another year of Muncy at third is going to continue to cost us games, not only for his poor D & arm, but also that .200 albatross in the daily lineup. I have no idea about availability of free agent pitchers; still have to wonder what impact Bauer could have made this year, but I don’t see him coming back to LA other than as a plaintiff against the team and MLB. But we have to add to a now VERY weak rotation of Buehler, Miller and possibly Kershaw. Lynn pretty much signed his own release after tonight. Who knows if Goose will return to his 2022 form. Lots of question marks at this point for our starting five. Despite their early struggles, the pen looks good and hopefully they can retain most of that core. Losing or replacing Scooter & Speedy won’t break my heart. Someone in CA hit the Powerball. We won $7 - woo hoo! GO DODGERS!!!

WHat dump Mad Max and those 104 RBIs? So he's no 3Bman, but he can spot start there and play 2nd, his natural position, and 1st when needed, or be the DH when needed. Taylor I'm with you on. He Ks WAY too much. His swing is like he's on he golf course and his bat just isn't reliable. And Kike is just too reliable and clutch at any position he plays, we must lock him up. Rojas as acquired cos Nono's son went down, but he's probably healed up enough that he could play right now. Peralta, Heyward and Barnes, I agree.

Muncy's 'physique' has grown to the point the second base option has sailed. First base is manned by Freeman. Which means Max would be insurance there. Martinez is a much better hitter, which makes Muncy insurance at DH too. This leaves third base. There must be someone out there better. A .300 hitter with good defense? Probably not. But SOMEONE better. Maybe Vargas even gets another shot. He started hitting again in the minors.

Agree Muncy needs to go, Kike, Barnes, one of Rojas or Taylor- same guy that plays multiple spots and doesn't hit enough, Heyward you chalk it up as a W this season and move on he is a guy that has never hit and will never hit enough. I'd rather Peralta but if you want to appease the fan base you can bring him back but it's either, or. Is bringing back Cody Bellinger back crazy. You know he'll opt- out after last year, it's a mutual option. Less than Ohtani and better than both Heyward and Peralta. I'd also say Joc but he's another of those .230s hitter and the Homers have died down. Definitely bring back J.D. and yes for two years but at his numbers he's going to want at least Taylor type money which is at least $15 mil. But nothing will change unless there is accountability at the top for the constant playoff failure. Friedman ain't going anywhere so the balless dimwit in the dugout needs to go!

The Padres have Seth Lugo about to hit free agency. He went 8-7 / 3.57 ERA & 1.20 WHIP. 140 K's in 146.1 innings. Starting on August 18th, he went 6.0 innings, 6.0, 6.0, 6.0. 4.1, 6.0, 6.0 & 8.2. A highly serviceable starter who has come out of the pen before. He made 7.5 million last year. He has a 7.5 million dollar PLAYER OPTION for 2024.
It's not a big move. But it would add depth, while taking it away from the Padres.

If Fraudy stays, chances are so does Daisy. What’s a puppet master without his lead marionette? And what other manager would be willing to come here as basically a “bench coach” while Fraudy and his analytical minions continue to call the shots from up above? I’d love to see them get a fire & brimstone kind of manager. One that would kick them in their collective asses when they needed it. But no manager like that is ever going to come to LA if he has to make and clear every decision via the Geek Squad. GO DODGERS!!!

Yeah maybe not a fiery dude which this soft generation can't deal with but one that actively manages and doesn't sit with his thumb up his ass every postseason and deviates from the geeks and moves runners over, not just playing the waiting game.

He's still just 30 years old. Drive up the price, at the very least. Make Preller overpay again. If he can be had on terms we can live with - great. If not, lock up more of the Padres' payroll.

But it would add depth, while taking it away from the Padres. Lugo is a crybaby. When Mookie hit that grand slam off him I think in July, he said we were stealing signs. If he's a Dodger, some fans won't let him forget that. He just couldn't admit that he lost it by I think the 4th inning. Anyway, we need a lefty starter, which I've said repeatedly. Blake Snell would be perfect. He too is an innings eater and would give the pen a break. With Walkman back next spring, the rotation would be filled out with Snell, Bobby, Pepperman and maybe Emmet, we'll have to wait and see, but going with the odds that the rotation won't be ravaged by injuries and none of them get arrested, that could make for a great quintet. It would be great to promote a lefty starter from within but Ronan Kopp, our #16, is 2 years away yet.
