So Andrew gets paid? I wonder how that money is used. For his care & maybe something for later?
My brother Dave never lost track of where he was. But the hallucinations were deeply disturbing. I think I mentioned before of going to visit him & him tucking towels under the door.
"What's that for?"
"People. That's how they get in."
(Pause...).
"Good idea then."
I HOPE he was out of his mind when he died. No one deserved what happened to Dave.

I imagine that came from his upbringing and the environment he grew up in. He went to Western Hills High School (West-Hi) in the 50’s and at that time, it was one of the most integrated in the city. Now, it’s around 95% black and Latino. He was / is a very flawed individual and continues to deny he ever bet for or against the Reds when he managed. I know for a fact he did. GO DODGERS!!! sports.yahoo.com/pete-rose-sexual-relationship-underage-girl-1970s-court-doc-says-172143720.htmlRose just gets worse and worse! However, the 70s was a vastly different time. I recall an old Dodger program magazine I got at a game, showing Steve Garvey kissing a girl who looked to be about 12 on the lips, and nobody said a word. Nowadays he'd be called a predator, a perv, a dirty old man and many other names. Rose's sex appetite is probably about what Garvey's was, or maybe still is, but Garvey wasn't so boistrous like Rose, or Muhammed Ali were. Between Rose and Milton Bradley, who was the bigger all around jerk?

The fact that he denied (lied) about betting on baseball, did time for tax evasion, screwed anything with a heartbeat and continues to this day to throw away hundreds of thousands betting every year only proves he has and will never learn from his mistakes. Last I saw of him, he was on wife # who knows and at 80 years old, I guarantee she isn’t with him for love. She looked to be about a quarter his age with a rack I’m sure he paid for bigger than Pam Andersons. I guess as long as people are still willing to dish out $25 + for his signature and network TV keeps giving him air time in the post season (which he is HORRIBLE at, IMHO), he’ll remain relevant until he makes that wrong bet he can’t cover with the wrong guido. It’s almost an inevitable conclusion to a very flawed individual who can’t keep his wallet or johnson in his pants. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Likely to work in bullpen Rotowire 5 HRS AGO Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Hurt has a "very good possibility" of being a relief option for the Dodgers during the season-opening series against the Padres in South Korea, which begins Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The 25-year-old has prepped as a starter during spring training and is still viewed as a one long term, but he could help Los Angeles in relief to begin the season. Hurt's inclusion on the roster for South Korea doesn't necessarily mean he'll retain that spot once the Dodgers return stateside, but it could give him a chance to show why he should stick in the majors.
Dodgers' Michael Grove: Pegged for multi-inning relief role Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Grove is expected to open the season in a multi-inning relief role for the Dodgers, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Gavin Stone beat out Grove for the fifth spot in the Dodgers' rotation. The team is expected to use a six-man rotation, or at least a variation of one, and Grove figures to be in the mix there, perhaps in a bulk relief role. The Dodgers could just mix-and-match in the sixth spot until Walker Buehler (elbow) and/or Emmet Sheehan (shoulder) are ready.
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Expected to be fifth starter Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Stone is likely to open the season as the Dodgers' No. 5 starter, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Stone earned the rotation spot with an impressive Cactus League performance which saw him yield just one run with a 9:1 K:BB over 9.2 innings of work. The 25-year-old was knocked around last season with the Dodgers, posting a 9.00 ERA and 22:13 K:BB across 31 frames. However, Stone is a former top prospect who collected a 32.6 percent strikeout rate in the minors. He should be better equipped for success in the big leagues in 2024 and makes for a fine late-round fantasy option.
Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Optioned to Triple-A Rotowire 18 HRS AGO Vargas was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Dodgers on Saturday, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports.
Vargas traveled with the Dodgers to South Korea for their upcoming series versus the Padres, but he will not be on the active roster. The 24-year-old has been working out in left field this spring and figures to continue playing the outfield while at OKC.
Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Designated for assignment Rotowire 18 HRS AGO The Dodgers designated Lipcius for assignment Saturday, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports.
He's the 40-man roster casualty as the Dodgers freed up a spot for Daniel Hudson. It's the second time in a little over two weeks that Lipcius has been designated for assignment, as the Tigers flipped him to the Dodgers in a trade shortly after removing him from their 40-man roster.
Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Officially added to roster Rotowire 18 HRS AGO The Dodgers selected Hudson's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports.
Hudson had already been told he would be part of the Opening Day bullpen, so his addition was merely a formality. The 37-year-old has missed most of the last two seasons with knee issues but has been superb when on the mound, holding a 1.98 ERA and 35:8 K:BB over 27.1 innings during that span. He figures to be used in a setup role.
Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Dominates in final spring start Rotowire MAR 16, 2024 Glasnow tossed 5.1 scoreless and hitless innings in a Cactus League contest against San Francisco on Tuesday. He struck out eight batters and allowed one walk.
A day after being named the Dodgers' Opening Day starter for their March 20 matchup with the Padres in South Korea, Glasnow finished his spring slate in dominant fashion, retiring 16 of the 17 batters he faced and tossing 70 pitches while holding the Giants without a hit. The right-hander looked every bit like an ace this spring, allowing just one run on four hits while posting a 14:3 K:BB over 10 frames. Glasnow may not be quite ready for a full workload in the regular-season opener given that the Seoul Series is taking place over a week earlier than Opening Day for teams besides the Dodgers and Padres, but he otherwise appears to be in fine form as he embarks upon his first campaign with Los Angeles.

I dragged myself out of bed at 3:32 this morning to see the game vs Korea. I already missed the 1st inning and saw Bobby give up 2 runs in the 3rd and our guys take a 4-2 lead in the bottom half. Then I was just too tired so I turned off the game to catch up on my sleep in my Lazy Boy for about half an hour, then turned the game back on. Bobby was dominant in his 5 innings, with 6 Ks and 76 pitches. Then in came Gavin, and those Koreans couldn't touch him! 3.1 innings, 8 Ks and 1 BB, 0 hits on 49 pitches! Is he only the 5th starter? I realize that once the bell rings to start the regular season, things could do a 180 in a heartbeat, but now he's got MLB experience and he knows how to locate his pitches which were all over the zone. Those Korean pitchers are pretty good in their own right, allowing but 5 runs on 6 hits. The ones I saw in this game looked like they're good enough for the bigs. They had 10 Ks, including Teo Hernandez 3 times. I should point out that he hadn't been K-ing in several games till this one, but we'll see starting Wednsday morning. Can you guys get up that early? JR it's 6AM for you.

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Could play field later in season Rotowire 8 HRS AGO Ohtani (elbow) is set to begin a throwing progression when the Dodgers return to Los Angeles this weekend following their two-game, season-opening series in South Korea versus the Padres on Wednesday and Thursday, and manager Dave Roberts hasn't ruled out the possibility of Ohtani (elbow) playing the field later in the 2024 campaign, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Roberts reiterated Monday that Ohtani's sole focus for now is serving as the Dodgers' full-time designated hitter, and whether the 29-year-old could be used in the outfield or at first base at some point later in the season will depend on how his throwing program comes along. Ohtani hasn't seen playing time in the outfield with any regularity since 2014 while he was still in Japan, so the idea that he could be used in left field or right field less than a year removed from Tommy John surgery seems far-fetched, at best. Still, it's interesting that the possibility hasn't been totally nixed.

How about shortstop or third base?
Seriously, leftfield might be about it. Unless we're set on Hernandez reaching 200 K's again.

Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Mixed bag in Dodgers debut Rotowire 9 MINS AGO Glasnow tossed five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out three batters in a no-decision against the Padres in South Korea on Wednesday.
Glasnow retired six of the first seven batters he faced before a Tyler Wade walk, a wild pitch and a Xander Bogaerts single gave the Padres their first run in the third inning. Glasnow ran into more trouble in the fourth, as he walked the inning's first two batters before Jurickson Profar notched a bunt single to load the bases, but the right-handed hurler then induced a double play and escaped the jam with just one more run on his ledger. The Dodgers' new ace finished his outing with a 1-2-3 fifth frame, ending with 77 pitches (including 44 strikes). Aside from the four free passes, Glasnow looked strong in his Los Angeles debut, and he can be expected to even out his control as the campaign progresses after posting a walk rate south of eight percent each of the past three seasons.
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Recalled to majors Rotowire 10 HRS AGO The Dodgers recalled Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
The Dodgers optioned Knack to minor-league camp toward the beginning of March, but he will rejoin the big-league club for their opening series in South Korea as Blake Treinen (chest) begins the year on the injured list. Knack has yet to pitch in the majors, but he turned in a 2.93 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 43 innings at Oklahoma City last season. Knack has been used almost exclusively as a starter in his minor-league career, but he will likely come out of the bullpen for the Dodgers as a multi-inning option.
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Placed on injured list Rotowire 10 HRS AGO The Dodgers placed Buehler (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
Buehler has spent the spring recovering from his August 2022 Tommy John procedure, and he will require a bit more time before he rejoins the Dodgers' rotation. Buehler was able to touch 97 mph with his fastball during a live batting practice session Tuesday -- an encouraging sign that his rehab process is going well. That being said, Buehler is likely still a month or two away from making his season debut.
Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan: On IL with forearm injury Rotowire 10 HRS AGO The Dodgers placed Sheehan on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right forearm inflammation.
Manager Dave Roberts previously said Sheehan would begin the season on the injured list, but it's worth noting that he is dealing with a forearm injury rather than the general soreness he had previously reported. Sheehan will be out until at least April 3, but a longer absence may be in store.
Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Placed on IL Rotowire 10 HRS AGO The Dodgers placed Graterol on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation.
It had already been announced that Graterol wouldn't be available for Los Angeles' series against the Padres in South Korea, so it's unsurprising to see the 25-year-old begin the year on the IL. Barring a setback in his recovery, Graterol should be able to rejoin the Dodgers' bullpen when eligible in early April.
Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Begins season on IL Rotowire 10 HRS AGO The Dodgers placed Treinen on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a bruised lung.
Treinen made the trip to South Korea for Los Angeles' opening series against the Padres, but he will have to wait until at least April to make his first appearance since 2022. Manager Dave Roberts previously said he expected Treinen to make the Opening Day roster, so it's likely Treinen will only be on the IL for the minimum 15 days. Landon Knack was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Hey, I have to post as a guest cos something is wrong with my PC or the app. For about 3 days I had to keep logging back in and resetting my password. Today I can't do that, and I don't even get an email to do it.
Anyway, I saw the first 6 innings this morning. Glassman wasn't very sharp, though he was great at damage control. IN the 4th, he had a control lapse, walking the first 2 hitters on 8 pitches, then a perfect bunt single to load the bases with no outs. Then, a double play to score a run and he escaped the inning with a K. 5 IP, 2 ER, 2 singles, 4 BB, 77 pitches, only 47 strikes.
So Sheehan will be out till at least April 3 huh? "A longer absence may be in store" means for sure he'll be on the shelf longer. Glad to hear Walkman is doing so well.
Yamma starts tomorrow!
