Looks like Patrick Mahomes missed Travis Kelce in their opener. They lose 21-20 to the Lions.
And...That's exactly what CBS says.
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Struggles without Kelce in opener
Rotowire 10 HRS AGO
Mahomes completed 21 of 39 passes for 226 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Chiefs' 21-20 loss to the Lions on Thursday night. He also rushed six times for 45 yards.
Mahomes figured to have more of a challenge than usual with Travis Kelce (knee) sidelined, and that ultimately came to fruition, although largely due to an utterly forgettable night on the part of Kadarius Toney. The third-year wideout's shaky hands directly led to a pick-six early in the third quarter that proved to be critical, given the one-point final margin of victory for Detroit. Mahomes spread the ball around plenty in Kelce's absence, recording multiple completions to six different targets and connecting with a whopping 11 players overall. However, even the two-time NFL MVP couldn't overcome the long odds Kansas City faced on its last two offensive plays, when a Toney drop and an offensive holding call put the Chiefs in a 2nd-and-20 scenario they never recovered from. Kelce should have a solid chance of suiting up in a Week 2 road matchup against the Jaguars a week from Sunday, which would give Mahomes a very good opportunity of rebounding with much better passing numbers.

Rams blitzed Seattle 30-13. They were trailing 13-7 at the half. Then outscored the Seahawks 23-0 in the second half.

Mahomes is disjointed & KC's offense is a smoking wreck right now. He throws an interception.

17-9 Chiefs win. Underwhelming. They certainly don’t look like the dominant squad of the last few years. Meanwhile, Miami has another last minute fourth quarter defensive stand to hold off the Patsy’s in New England to start the season 2 - 0 with both wins on the road. Tua was fairly meh last night as compared to his previous performance against the Bolts. But Miami got its running game going which compensated for its QB. Their kicker also left six points on the floor after having one FG attempt blocked and the other shanked left. Dude is not very good and missed an extra point late last week that could’ve cost them the W. Hard to believe they couldn’t find a replacement for this guy in the off-season. GO DODGERS!!!

Gotta love the rapist Deshaun Watson proving he was a one year wonder in Houston and showing the Browns and their ownership the true stupidity of shelling out that kind of money and draft picks for that hack.
He did nothing against the Burrows and Cleveland won on the backs of their running game in crappy weather conditions and a still injured QB who didn’t take a preseason snap.
Tonight against a woeful Steelers team, he lost his crutch Chubb early in the game after his first throw resulted in a pick six.
He later fumbled the ball into another defensive TD by Pittsburgh.
I am SO glad Miami passed on this criminal despite the rumors that they were pursuing him.
I hope his failures continue and the Browns remain one of the bottom feeders of the NFL.
GO DODGERS!!!

I'd say Kelce is back & the Chiefs are rolling. 41-0 in the 3rd quarter.

Miami wins a nail-biter over Denver. My brother-in-law is a HUGE Broncos fan. So, naturally, I dogged him the entire day. I said “seven touchdowns - what is this, a college game? He responded the Broncos weren’t good enough to even play against some colleges. Russell Wilson was a HUGE mistake. He’s been done since his Super Bowl win and subsequent loss. GO DODGERS!!!

Dak and the Cowgirls showing their true colours today against a pretty weak Arizona club. I couldn’t be happier!

Chiefs beat the Jets 23-20 thanks to a very questionable holding call. Mahomes had a game in hell, bailed out by a big scramble at the end to secure the victory. Isiah Pacheco had 158 all-purpose yards.
