It’s impossible to root for any team or this league when they’re SO devoted to mediocrity and the mighty dollar betting lines.

How many divisions will be won or wildcards will be given to teams a game over or under .500 this year?

Officiating is just COMPLETELY out of control this year. Mac Jones (New England) just got sacked and fumbled on his way to the ground.

A direct, clean hit to his backside. No lowering of the helmet, no helmet to helmet contact. Refs called “roughing the passer”.

They might as well just start putting flags in their back pockets. I’ve never seen such pussification of a sport than the NFL.

Another casualty in the AFC North. Joey Burros of the Bungles has a torn ligament in his throwing wrist and joining serial rapist Deshaun Watson of Cleveland as out for the year and basically giving the division to the Ravens.

Burros started his career with a blown knee after one game, rehabbed and took Cincy to their first Super Bowl in decades, only to lose to Matthew Stafford and the Lambs.

Started this season with a bum calf and after getting the largest contract in Bungle / NFL history, is now on the shelf again.

Somewhere in all of that he also suffered a blown appendix which required surgery.

What is it about these outlandish contracts that nine times out of ten results in star players turning into fragile glass pussies?

And the way the NFL protects them, it’s a wonder they ever get more than a hangnail, although that too would probably lead to a month on the IR.

This is a violent sport - always has been and always will be. But brushing by a QB or clean tackling him while he still has the ball in his hand is NOT roughing the passer.

I was watching ESPN the other night and saw a commercial for English Rugby. Talk about BRUTAL!

These guys play the way football USED to be played with NO helmets, shoulder pads, leg and arm pads and braces, etc.

Just a striped long sleeve polo shirt and an all out battle for an oblong ball.

I doubt a single NFL player would last more than a few minutes in one of those matches.
