Between the two of them they’d better be close to perfect, because we aren’t coming back from being down six or even TWO runs based on our pathetic bats thus far.
Writers and even the TV pundits are blaming the week long layoff for these underachievers but I think that’s BS.
This is what you play 162 games for and if you can’t get your shit together for these crucial games, then you’re not playing for anything other than that $30 mil a year.
We’ve seen this movie year after year after year and still nothing changes.
They ALL need a swift boot in the ass, but aren’t going to get that motivation from a dude who should just go ahead and start sucking on a pacifier come October.
Honestly - he might be one of the best REGULAR season players managers to ever don the blue.
But it’s a toss up between him and Rusty as far as who is the worst in the postseason and right now, I believe Daisy is leading that race.
But what are we to do? Ownership is infatuated with both him and Fraudman and it’s obvious neither one of them is going to resign and why would they?
They continue to put NL West Division Titles on the board and their contracts get extended every time they are up.
Ownership promised us multi championships and a dynasty when they wrangled the team away from McCourt and company.
They have assembled some of the best talent on the field over the last decade.
Yet every year this time we get excuses and this year will be no different.
We weren’t expected to do this good.
Our pitching has been decimated since late April / early May.
Our bench was made up of a bunch of scrubs taken off the free agency scrap heap.
We had to rely on too many rookie pitchers.
Need I go on? Truth of the matter is we had / have a lineup that consists of Mookie, Freddie & Will and then CRAP, 2/3 of which batted in the low .200’s.
A single backup catcher who wasn’t even batting .100 until late August / early September.
And I still say we never got and never will get the whole truth behind sitting or DH’ing Will Smith just about every third game.
His early season concussion and lengthy recovery notwithstanding, there was no reason a young HEALTHY catcher should have needed that much rest and I believe that he, like many others was / is suffering from the ill effects of mandated injections he was forced to take by MLB.
All I can say at this point is at least my Dolphins look pretty good this year and if Tua can stay upright and healthy, they very well could be playing in February.
GO DODGERS!!!
