It's like Andy Messermith's changeup. I well remember Messersmith's changeup and how Vinny raved over it. No wonder he was the ace of the '74 rotation and he had a very successful career. I'm amazed you remember what his changeup looked like, and I thought I was the one wih the great memory!

2-1 Dodgers lead in the 1st inning. JD Martinez hit a two-run homer. His 32nd. 100 RBI's. Amazing.

Might be time to lift Yarbrough.

Yarbrough has faced 18 batters & not struck out one. No walks either. Why walk when you're hitting off a tee?

This is embarrassing.
2 out of 3 after this to reach 100 wins.

Shelby Miller has a 1.71 ERA now. Scarborough Fair gives up nine in four innings to boost his ERA up near four and a half Starting does not seem to be his forté; may want to think about him returning to his role in long relief. GO DODGERS!!!

Flea Market surrenders four more while retiring only one batter. He might be one to leave off the postseason roster. Definitely not a starter / opener - not any better as a reliever.
GO DODGERS!!!

Hard to believe with as torrid as Mookie was in August that he's gone just as cold in September. He hit .455-11-30 last month. So far this month, it's been .257-1-8. His last homerun was September 11th. He's stuck on 39.
Encouraging is him going 6 for his last 15. 2 doubles. Like a lot of power hitters, he's streaky.

He and Acuña were neck and neck there for awhile, with Mook even slightly ahead in some polls. I’m sure he’d rather have another ring than the MVP award, tho. It’ll be interesting to see how both of these guys perform next month and if that has any influence on the final tally. It shouldn’t, because the award is supposed to be based on regular season play. But if Mooks gets hot again and helps LA advance to and win the WS, it could play in his favour. GO DODGERS!!!

Right now, Acuna leads the league in runs, hits, stolen bases, OB%, OPS, OPS+ & total bases. He has 41 homeruns & 70 SB's. Baseball's first 40-70 man. I'm afraid that ship has sailed. Remember when Miguel Cabrera won the Triple Crown? I picked up some Angels troll. I said you HAVE to give it to a guy who has won baseball's first Triple Crown since 1967. This guy was like their version of Dodgerwood, only with stats. 'Mike Trout is the MVP. Look at his numbers. WAR. Defensive metrics.' Whatever, homer. Cabrera was MVP. That guy disappeared. Acuna is winning it this year.

Dodgers' Kolten Wong: Three hits off bench Rotowire 17 HRS AGO Wong went 3-for-3 off the bench in Thursday's 14-5 loss to the Rockies.
Mookie Betts was taken out of the game once the Dodgers fell far behind, and Wong stepped up to lead the team in hits despite not starting the contest. Wong has two multi-hit efforts over his last three games, but those are his only such games since joining the Dodgers. He's slashing .186/.259/.267 through 85 contests between Los Angeles and Seattle, though he's at a .333/.387/.556 slash line in a limited sample (31 plate appearances) with the Dodgers.
Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Blasts homer in loss Rotowire 17 HRS AGO Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 14-5 loss to the Rockies.
Hernandez had gone 15 games without a homer entering Thursday. The utility man gave the Dodgers a short-lived 3-1 lead with his second-inning blast. He's hitting .283 (17-for-60) in September and .269 since he joined the Dodgers in a trade from the Red Sox. Between the two teams this year, he's at a .239/.292/.354 slash line with 10 homers, 58 RBI, 56 runs scored and four stolen bases over 138 contests.
Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: Launches 32nd homer Rotowire 17 HRS AGO Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 14-5 loss to the Rockies.
Martinez set an early tone with his first-inning blast, but the Rockies took control of the game in the third inning. This was Martinez's sixth multi-hit effort in his last 10 games, and he's hit six homers with 14 RBI in that span. The designated hitter is up to 32 long balls, 100 RBI, 60 runs scored, one stolen base and a .274/.325/.576 slash line through 110 contests this season.
Dodgers' Ryan Yarbrough: Pummeled in Colorado Rotowire 17 HRS AGO Yarbrough (8-7) allowed nine runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings to take the loss versus the Rockies on Thursday.
Yarbrough had allowed just eight runs over his first 15.1 innings in September, but a trip to Coors Field was responsible for his worst outing of the season. It inflated his ERA to 4.52 with a 1.23 WHIP and 67:14 K:BB through 89.2 innings between the Dodgers and the Royals. The southpaw will likely operate as a long-relief option during the Dodgers' postseason run.
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: On bench Thursday

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Gets breather Friday Rotowire 1 HR AGO Muncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Friday against the Giants, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
He'll get a day off after batting .240 (6-for-25) with zero extra-base hits, three RBI and four runs scored over his last six games. Enrique Hernandez will replace Muncy at the hot corner and bat seventh.
