Well how do you like this? Our old friend Julio Urias didn't show up in court yesterday, I guess for his arraignment. Whatever it was, that little punk just didn't show up. What do you all bet he escaped to south of the border where he could be extradited from? But he knows the hiding places in Mexico. There's very little in the article about this, so it's really not worth posting, but there will be more news but probably not till after the last out of the WS.

Julio Urias Reportedly Did Not Show Up to Court Date: Latest on Dodgers Pitcher
Clint Pasillas Follow on Twitter09/29/2023
Estranged Dodgers pitcher, Julio Urias, was set to have his day in court on Wednesday. Urias was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence on September 4, 2023, and released on $50,000 bail. With the news also came a reported September 27th court date. According to Marca.com, Urias did not show up.
LaOpinion.com journalist Ricardo Lopez Juarez reported on the no show.
Via Marca.com: “There is no formal accusation against him, therefore, the case has not been filed in court”, Lopez Juarez reported as the reason behind Urias’ decision not to attend court. … in the absence of a ‘formal accusation’ by the alleged victim, Urias was not required to appear before a judge.
The long time Dodger remains on paid administrative leave while Major League Baseball investigates the accusation. He served a 20-game suspension for violating the league’s domestic violence policy in 2019 and stands to become the first ever repeat offender of the policy.
As it stands, it is unknown what the next steps are in Urias’s legal case.

Dodgers' Will Smith: Heads to bench Rotowire 1 HR AGO Smith will be on the bench Saturday against the Giants.
Smith sits for the second time in three days, with the Dodgers seemingly prioritizing rest in the final week of the regular season. He's one homer shy of his third straight 20-homer campaign but will have to wait until the final game of the season to try for it, unless he appears as a pinch hitter Saturday. Austin Barnes will start behind the plate in Smith's absence, catching for Clayton Kershaw.
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Not starting Saturday Rotowire 1 HR AGO Rojas (hand) will not start Saturday's game against San Francisco.
Rojas left Friday's game after getting hit in the hand by a pitch. He escaped with nothing worse than a bruise but has no reason to risk anything Saturday with the Dodgers locked into the second seed in the National League. Chris Taylor will get the start at shortstop in his absence.
Dodgers' Victor Gonzalez: Recalled from OKC Rotowire 1 HR AGO The Dodgers recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.
Gonzalez will give the Dodgers additional bullpen depth to close out the season as Lance Lynn is away from the team on bereavement leave. Gonzalez holds a 4.13 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 32.2 innings in the majors this season.
Dodgers' Lance Lynn: Placed on bereavement list Rotowire 1 HR AGO The Dodgers placed Lynn on the bereavement list Saturday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.
Lynn will be held out for three-to-seven games as he tend to more important matters. Victor Gonzalez was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill Lynn's roster spot.

Frisco fans start a 'BEAT LA!' chant. How very sad. In a meandering season, that ends in oblivion, with another fall of watching other teams in the playoffs, San Francsico's treat is beating the Dodgers in a meaningless game. They're 21.0 back.
