Dodgers' Ryan Pepiot: Heads to IL with oblique strain Rotowire 5 MINS AGO Pepiot was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a left oblique strain, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Pepiot had been lined up as the fill-in starter for Tony Gonsolin (ankle) but that assignment will now go to Michael Grove instead. The recovery time for an oblique strain can range from a couple of weeks to multiple months. There's no word yet from the Dodgers about a recovery timetable.

Dodger alumni today: Cody was badly fooled on a slider clearly inside and swung right threw it, then grounded out, and went 0 for 3 on the day ad the Baby Bears shut out the Beer Drinkers 4-0. Justin went 2 for 4 in Boston in a wild game, which the Birdies beat the Sox 10-9, but the 9th inning was a nail biter as the Sox scored twice on two big Oriole errors. I also saw the Yanks beat the Gnats and the Braves beat the Nats. I saw all four games together thanks to MLBTV. For those of you who don't know, you can watch four games at a time.

I have tickets to see the game vs the Snakes next Wensday and Pepperman was on pace to start. But his injury might explain why he got lit up his last two starts. Any muscle strain can take a good while to heal up.

So I'll have to settle for them for free.
