The Dodgers are reportedly showing interest in Carlos Rodon. This is a can't lose ploy by Friednan. We either get a very good pitcher, or force the Giants to pay more than they wanted. I'd think the Gnats' higher priority would be their rotation, which ranked a very nice 7th in the bigs. However, of course, our rotation was first and we're their rival. So my guess is the press is playing up the Gnats' pursuit of the Judge for drama. Just like Vladdy Guererro years ago, on that day he signed with the Angels, no one was thinking about them. For all we know, the Judge could be a Mariner.

My first inkling was having Dan Evans interview for his own job. He was the GM who traded Kevin Brown to clear up payroll space to pursue Guererro with. Then McCourt blamed Bud Selig, who had pushed the other owners to approve McCourt's purchase of the team. Bud would be upset if Franky spent that much money. Of course Frank kept the money. The Dodgers' payroll went from well over a hundred million dollars to about 92 million. By 2005, it was 83 million. Yes. I'm sick enough to remember all this.

Honestly, I don't remember any of that, just that McCourt was scum. We all wanted to blame him for trading PizzaMan, but that was the Murdock group. He did bankrupt the the team and that was the saddest period in Dodger history. Totally corrupt! It's not right to compare him to Manfred however. Manfred isn't corrupt, just an idiot.

Maybe not corrupt, but morally bankrupt. Just ask Trevor Bauer. Playing God with someone’s career simply based on not liking the guy or his sexual preferences is reprehensible. GO DODGERS!!!

Kershaw first game 1 of the NLDS. Verlander for game 2. Then it's golf season.

The Dodgers ink bullpen help in the form of former 1st round pick Shelby Miller. His last several seasons have been plagued by injuries & the fact he's sucked.
I didn't see any details on the contract. It's supposed to be a major league contract though.
Hopefully Friedman & his scouts saw something they figure can be fixed.

I just read Miller has a two pitch repertoire. Slider & a 4 seamer. Can he learn a good change up?

To no one's great surprise, Yasiel Puig has withdrawn his plea bargain agreement with the government. Welcome to Planet Puig. Dodger fans know the feeling. The article I caught was the Los Angeles Times. I reached my limit. They want money. No. So I'll speculate as to our loveable Puiggy's motivations. He's afraid of the bookies. He's afraid it will lead to other investigations. Like those alleged burglaries at his home. All four of them. What ever delusions he may have entertained about returning to the big leagues goes out the window if he pleads guilty. If his Korean team still lists him as an employee, they might take a dim view of Yasiel's sports betting. Now I'm going to get back to my own sports wagering, endorsed by every major sports league.

Read a couple other articles. Puig is citing new evidence. The only thing I saw was he's claiming he didn't have an interpreter or legal counsel.
Under the terms of his previous agreement, he would have been fined $55,000 & maybe have gotten probation. If he's convicted, he could get a five year sentence. Take the curtain, Yasiel!! The curtain!!
What he doesn't seem to understand is once the government KNOWS you're guilty, they never let go. Like with OJ Simpson. Open Pandora's Box & they very well may nail you for insurance fraud.
I hope they throw the book at him. Moron.

If there's one thing our coaching staff is good at, it's spotting unrealized potential in players. Just last year, Anderson and Heaney. Both had great seasons after being taken off the scrap heap. And what about Mad Max Muncy? Justin?

The latest offer to Aaron Judge is said to be 8 years & 300 million dollars. It was proferred by the Yankees.
Don't let them outbid you, Farhan. He belongs in Frisco.

Welcome to December. My Christmas wish list...
Dansby Swanson Carlos Rodon Justin Turner back on a cheap, one year contract. You can't just let the winner of the Roberto Clemente Award walk. Bullpen help.
Then we ease Vargas in at third base. See if he has what it takes. Have Thompson & Outman compete for time in center.
I expect a bounce back season for Muncy. Please DON'T give him another extension though.
Keep Lux at second base.
We'll have to deal with the Bauer situation as it arises.
I hear the Padres are hot on the trail of Xander Bogaerts.
