I just read the Pirates would want a package of Dodger prospects, headlined by Miller.

If the Dodgers are weary of public pressure and want to appease the rated- PG crowd then they can attach a prospect and move him to Pittsburgh for that Bryan Reynolds guy who had a down year hitting but is a switch hitting center fielder. One problem with that. Reynolds is under team control until 2026. We would have to send one helluva prospect. Maybe multiple prospects. Bobby Miller RHP the #2 overall prospect is already in play. It just doesn't make sense to me that the Dodgers would plan to let Bellinger walk and then send top prospects to some team to fill the void he left in center. So really, to what extent are they really interested in getting a top prospect expensive center fielder. The guys they have, have really fallen on their lap when it comes to money or prospects or both.

Steve Cohen is reportedly asking MLB & MLBPA for unique clauses in Carlos Correa's contract. That would have to do with any injuries arising from Correa's pre-existing condition. That could really open a window the Player's Association wouldn't want. Expect them to veto it.

I just read the Pirates would want a package of Dodger prospects, headlined by Miller. Well I have mixed feelings about this. In my prior post, I said that one great pitching prospect has to go. Bobby seems MLB ready, yet his AAA pitching has been erratic. But to get traded to the Pirates, a team that can't climb out of the cellar has to be humiliating, yet its not fair to Bobby to make him languish at AAA when he can join a rotation. And who knows, he could be a big part of turning those Blackbeards around, back to the days of Willie Stargell and Robby Clemente. But dry your tears, cos we still have Pepperman and Stone, with Nick Nastrini and Emmitt Sheehan on the way with more to follow. And remember that we traded Josiah Gray our #2 to the Nats and his stats aren't so great, along with Kiebert Ruiz, whose stats are OK and Will Smith has proven the better catcher between the two. And we did get Trea and the other Mad Max so we got the best of that deal

The Astros were surprised at how good he is. It's too early to tell with Josiah Gray. Sometimes it takes a few years to figure it out. But Downs just got DFA'd. Hard to believe Ruiz is ultimately better than Smith. I just found it hard to believe Reynolds could be had for one Dodger prospect, unless it was felt that was a can't miss prospect.

The Dodgers have been trading away guys for big names that haven't amounted to crap: Rich Hill Yu Darvish Manny Machado Trea Turner Max Scherzer

Still nothing on Correa. Boras has negotiated contracts with injury clauses before. Ivan Rodriquez had back issues. Boras agreed to a buyout if Rodriquez missed so many games. Same for JD Martinez & his right foot.
I think it's telling that Boras walked away from money in this case. The Giants were concerned & Boras called it off. He lost one year & 35 million dollars.
Expect Correa to sign soon. Not all the money will be guaranteed.

The Dodgers have until Friday to make a decision on Trevor Bauer. They can release him & he becomes a free agent. If he signs with another team, the Dodgers are relieved of the onus of having his 22.5 million dollars on their payroll.
But what if that other team is the Padres? What would it feel like to be beaten over the head with that mistake?
Some players were against Bauer returning to the team. Some have recently spoken in favor of Trevor. Don't make a bad situation worse by having to compete against him. I think Carl Crawford's attitude sucked. Mattingly alluded to it. We'll see what happens with Bellinger in Chicago. Then there was always Puig getting demoted to the minors. You can never have too much pitching.

Carlos Correa posted an Instagram photo holding his child wearing an 'I Love New York' t-shirt, under the caption that he's going to work with Daddy.
Sounds like it's all but wrapped up.

The usual parrots are mimicking eachother saying that there are those in the clubhouse that don't want Bauer. A couple are going off an article from 2021. The veterans that said so then are no longer here. What's interesting is that these parrots don't name the supossed sources or have any direct quotes. Of course!
I have a really hard time thinking that the Dodgers release him and allow him to play elsewhere while paying him.
I think they stash him on the 40 man and keep working a trade if they don't actually intend on keep him.

Trevor wasn't charged with a crime and it's pretty clear the sex was purely consentual, with that gold digger so I say, just drop the matter and let him pitch for us in '23! And great point about the Monks signing him and adding him to their good rotation, but is there room for him? There are always the Yanks of course, but at least the Mets won't sign him. They've filled up their rotation and have been so busy this winter, with a payroll close to 400 mil! George Steinbrenner was never that mad, even after adjusting for inflation! But the Red Sox and Cubs are also possibilities. Come back Trevor!

Or the Giants could sign Bauer since they whiffed on Correa. It would only be for one year. I just could do without facing him in our own division.

VERY POOR decision by the Dodgers. I guess that bimbo got her moneys worth on this one by ruining the reputation she obviously was hired to do. GO DODGERS!!!
