Harper of course, as long as he is healthy, but at what price? who cares if it's in the budget? it's not our money. and i do think they can afford him anyway. They can afford him, but couldn't they afford one or two other pretty good players plus Puig instead of Harper?

Harper is a monster. He would be the best player on the team if he came here and that's saying A LOT.

I don't think 400 million is realistic but we will see.

I don't see the Dodgers signing Harper AND Kershaw. I think this because the Dodgers will not just be looking to add 1 player beyond Kersh. I think the Dodgers biggest priority will be Dozier. If they don't sign Harper, I can see them going after Blackmon, Pollock, or Gonzalez. Harper is a rare opportunity, however. Its not often that you get to sign a free agent of his caliber and age. But there will be huge risk - there will likely be multiple opt-out, which put the Dodgers on the hook if he gets hurt or becomes ineffective but they won't get the advantage if he performs to his ability.
It's possible the Dodgers will shock us and not be big players on the FA market and try to swing some trades to improve the club. But my money is on more, smaller deals - taking advantage of the depth of the FA market by getting some steals.

Wasn’t very highly publicized, but it was 6 years 108 million. Years 5 and 6 are player options.

Wasn’t very highly publicized, but it was 6 years 108 million. Years 5 and 6 are player options. Wow. I didn't even see that. How did that go by so quietly?!? I think Blackmon made the right decision. Some might say that if he had another big season in 2018, he could have really cashed in at least in AAV next winter, and maybe he could have. But I question even that given how extreme a Coors Field product he is and how much today's front offices are considering all aspects of a players game. I personally think he would have been one player that would have lost out the most next winter because many of the big spending teams would have seen the difference between his home (.970 career OPS) and road (.750 career OPS) splits. He's a league average type player away from Coors. Staying in Denver gives him the best chance of continuing to produce at a high level and I think was the smarter choice for him.
