Oh, so now you "sense" it because of a playoff rivalry for a couple seasons. Got it!! so in other words, you're making a total wild guess which really isn't much of an "opinion" anyway. Yep, what do you have, inside information? Why do you think the Dodgers will sign Harper? Do you know him? His agent? I didn't give an opinion. But now that you ask, I posted an article from Jon Heyman that says the Dodgers are the favorites at 3-1. Jon Heyman reports on baseball for a living. Get it?

I don’t see him going to the Yankees; I understand they have the DH but i don’t think they are going to commit a ton of money to 3 corner OFers. Also, why do you think the Dodgers only have an outside shot? Do you just think they flat out aren’t going to want to spend the money? The interest from Harper’s end will most definitely be there. I don't think Harper wants to be a Dodger and I don't think the Dodgers want to spend 400M on him and another 300M on Kershaw. I just think when it's all said and done, the Dodgers will re-sign Kersh and that will be their "big" move. He is from and still lives in Vegas; you think he has no interest in playing for the closest team to home that also happens to be a well run consistent winner?

Harper will play for the team that pays him the most money, which is the case for just about every player represented by Scott Boras. Players typically want to play close to home when they're older and/or have families of their own.

The Dodgers have more money then any of the teams that will be bidding for him, on top of a location advantage. My point is that IF they want him, they can most likely get him. The same can not be said for most teams. The Nationals are the biggest threat (IMO), but it is pretty rare for a big time free agent to be re-signed once they actually hit the open market.

I'd prefer to go down this road : Let's build a field where his position works for us. 1'st? Would CB move to 2'nd? Maybe BH could fit in as our 2'nd baseman; leaving CB at 1'st. Utley has 1 year left. Forsythe. Where will he be next year? LA? Somewhere else? JT staying with a short extended contract? I'd like to see if BH would accept a position change in order to extend his ability over time. As stated earlier here, we have plenty of outfielders. So Let's assemble a mock potential position roster. Then we can eliminate holes. My imagination : 1. CB 2. BH SS. CS 3. JT LF. Kemp/Toles CF. CT RF. YP C. YG/AB
Bench :?

If "CB" is Cody Bellinger he throws lefty & could never be a second baseman. JT has two years on his contract after the current season. Who's "BH?"

Bryce
I'm no expert Just a fan Just trying to establish how BH could work with what we currently have. I suppose AF could make trades leading up to acquiring BH. It's all speculative currently

But would he consider a position move. One that lengthens his career? Maybe it's a reality he may not fit.
