A lot of this is speculative and also dependent upon if Verdugo turns into the stud projected (I think he does!). So, we get a number three pitcher for two years at $32 per year on a team already stacked with pitching and four or five guys that could and one of whom will fill his spot in the rotation.I don’t see the Dodgers getting into a bidding war for the services of Mr. Betts, no matter what he does for us in these yet to be played 60 games. They’ve proven time and again they are not giving out 10 year contracts to anyone. And even if they did offer Mookie 10, we all know some team will come along and give him 12. And that’s when LA says “best of luck to ya’, Mook”. We begged management to get us a marquee player for years but unfortunately when they finally pulled the trigger, it was for a one year rental that we may never know how good he and this team could have become. GO DODGERS!!! So big deal! Our Dodgers, down thru history dating back to the late 40s have been famous for deep rotations and starters in reserve. Remember 1974 when Tommy John went down with the ailment that bears his name? I ca'nt think of any other examples offhand, but you get my point. So, Dave Price has opted out. We have plenty of starters chomping at the bit to step into the rotation, and Jojo Gray who'll probably open the season at AAA. And, we drafted two studs a couple weeks ago, Bobby Miller and Landon Knack. Knack might need seasoning, but Al Leiter thinks Miller won't need much time in the minors. The rotation is one thing on our team I seldom if ever worry about.

Yeah, tru 'nuff. I don't understand how the season has been cancelled up till the 23rd, and in 1918, with the Spanish flu, pro sports weren't cancelled in those primitive times when doctors didn't even know what a virus was? So far, Price, Mike Leake of the DBacks are opting out of the short season, and Freddy Freeman has tested positive. I've been in Mesa, AZ for a month now, and when I planned this move a year ago, I was really looking forward to attending Dback games, being less than half an hour from Phoenix. No team is allowing fans into their stadiums. But opening day, I'm inviting family members over.

I read Trout is “on the fence” and he could lead the domino effect of marquee players that may decide the risk is not worth the reward. I remember reading Kershaw not being happy with the “separation effect” from his family. With a couple of fairly young ruggers, he might be joining Price and countless others if this disease cannot be contained and continues to show up and spread within clubhouses. I’m still somewhat skeptical that this season happens at all, despite the owners greed and commissioners desire to put on his new “all DH, extra innings circus”. I’m just surprised he’s not going to implement the “electronic strike zone”. Can’t wait to see what he has in store for the postseason but if it’s anything close to his original ideas earlier this year, I may pass on the entire fiasco I’ve already ditched NASCAR & the NFL. Haven’t been a big NBA fan for awhile. Looking forward to the NHL, although the games are much better live than on TV. GO DODGERS!!!

How did he concoct that extra innings gimmic, putting a runner on 2nd? And the electronic strike zone? Baseball is a game played by fallible human beings, and must be so-umpired. Besides that, is'nt the manager running on the field and shouting at the ump part of the baseball experience, entertaining? Everything Manfred touches turns to shit. However, he has charitably given Dodger Stadium the all star game in '22. Watch for my new signature.

GO DODGERS!!! Price was the necessary contract that needed to be absorbed for the team to obtain Betts. The team is pitching strong with or without him. Who knows if he would have been good even if he pitched being that he was hurt last year and is a velocity dependent pitcher. I don't have an issue with him taking the year off if he comes back and pitches well for us for the last two years of his contract. He much like others on the team are pretty good dudes. He paid $1000 to 220 minor leaguers in the Dodger Organization for the month of June, out of his own pocket. And, he certainly has a right to void the $11.9 million he was due to make this year if he wants to take the year off because he doesn't want to risk sickness for him and his family. I don't have an issue with him sitting out this year, he's been an All Star, he's been a Cy Young, he's been a World Series Champion and he's financially established for generations. What I don't want is for him to make headlines on political issues. If you're out then you're out. Stay away and see you next year David Price.

Especially for the sake of their family members, young, with medical conditions and the elderly. I just find some numbers that are interesting. Doctors say that there is an 85% chance of preventing the catching of Covid by simply wearing a facemask. The infection fatality rate world wide is 0.6% and here in the states it's 0.4% I just don't know why this isn't being reported regularly and I don't know what to make out of all of this.

It’s impossible to believe just about everything that the MSM reports on this disease. One day, the masks work, the next, they don’t. I’ve yet to wear one and tend to side with the ACTUAL manufacturers of most of these masks who advise they do NOT prevent wearers from spreading or acquiring the disease. And I’m also on board with any and all players who decide not to play this year, for whatever reason they opt upon. If I was in their shoes and could afford to forfeit that pro-rated salary, which I believe a good deal of them can, I’m not sure I’d want to share a clubhouse with 30 plus other guys that could at any time be carriers. And I don’t know how they’re going to keep them from spitting or high / low / elbow / fist fiving as these are as much a part of the game as pitching, catching, fielding and batting. Will these activities result in fines, suspensions? The season, if it ever does get underway, will always go down in history as “incomplete” or “tainted” much like the strike season and if there is a postseason and WS Champ, that title will also be “subject”. As someone who contracted Covid very early on before anyone even knew what it was, I can say with all honesty that beside my wife, I don’t know of another soul who has had it, even though we were around many family and friends before succumbing to our own self-imposed quarantine for the better part of those first two weeks. And my wife returned to work after only a couple of days off, obviously with the disease still in her system and to our knowledge, none of the people in her division contracted it. Her company of 3,500 plus employees did not close until nearly a month and a half later and she and most of them have been working remotely from their homes since mid-March. I find the whole thing is and always has been a big farce and while it may be more contagious and slightly more dangerous, it is still just another strain of influenza that infects millions every year and kills tens of thousands. The deaths being attributed to Covid are purposely being inflated for monetary and political reasons and I predict will quickly disappear once November 4th passes. Again, I / we have gotten a bit off topic, so I expect this will probably get moved, but I digress. GO DODGERS!!!

It's politics 101, to exploit and exaggerate a tragedy like this to make us afraid of our own shadow. But when a virus comes the 2nd time around, it's weaker, which the press won't tell you. That explains why the death rate has sharply diminished from just two months ago.

Plus its been 90 + degrees here in Cin City for the past week and this week looks to be much more of the same. Not a whole lot of things can survive in that kind of heat that many days in a row.
I can’t even cut my grass for fear that I’ll pass out before I get through the front and back 40.
Again, you certainly won’t see MSM reports that would do anything to damage their fear mongering and obvious continued “we’re all doomed” platform.

Of course no one wants people to die and of course no one wants to be responsible for infecting their significant other that has diabetes or their elderly grandparent and no one likes being insensitive but in contrast to the alarmist media the numbers aren't what we have been led to believe. I wonder if it's because the majority of people can fight this thing off or if it's the precautions the governments are taking or if it's both. I don't know. I was listening to 790 KABC a radio talk show here in Los Angeles and the doctor that was on live answering questions said that not everyone needs to be wearing a facemask and that everything shouldn't be getting closed down because for whatever reason, people have developed an immunity or naturally fight it off and that those that should be taking precautions are those with medical conditions and the elderly not the entire population.

What’s even more incredulous is the fact that we’re mid-year and there has not been a SINGLE mention of the “normal” annual flu that infects millions worldwide and kills tens of thousands. How many of those cases are getting lumped into Covid-19? My guess would be ALL of them, making Covid only slightly more deadly than the usual flu we see EVERY year. Has the country ever been shut down or have we ever been forced to wear masks at least half of us don’t believe do a thing for the “regular” flu? Not in the nearly 58 years I’ve been around, that’s for sure. But leave it to the liberal left and MSM to create yet another attempt to unseat a President they despise so much that has done more in three plus year than their “king” did in eight, despite their constant pressure and harassment to undo his accomplishments. Is Trump perfect? Of course not! Is he loud, obnoxious, narcissistic, untruthful and generally unlikeable by most, even his biggest fans and backers? I can’t disagree with that. But he’s head over heals better than what they are offering up and if they stick with nominating Sleepy Joe, I see a LANDSLIDE for reelection and four more years of Donald as well as keeping the Senate majority with a pretty good chance of flipping the House back. I think we all know that single party dominance has never worked before in this country, but this could possibly be the first time in history that it DOES. The Dems have gotten so corrupt that they make Al Capone look like a choirboy. People are getting fed up with their antics and the only way to change that is to vote them out. I’d personally drive cross-country to San Francisco to help that witch Pelosi vacate her offices. Schummer, too. And those crackpots in MN and NY. Time to clean house and “empty the swamp”. GO DODGERS!!!
