Crazy, Andrew Toles who everyone wondered what had happened to him just popped up in jail in Key West for sleeping behind a building (trespassing) near the airport. We all know about his mental issue(s) so where if he has any family or friends are they? He made hundreds of thousands while he was with us, so what happened to that? Either up his nose or his veins no doubt.

Personal life
Toles was born in Decatur, Georgia. He is the son of Alvin Toles, who played college football at the University of Tennessee and then played in the National Football League. Toles spent two weeks between the 2015 and 2016 Major League Baseball seasons working in the frozen-foods section of a Georgia Kroger grocery store.
On June 22, 2020, Toles was arrested and jailed on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing after police found him sleeping behind the Key West airport. According to the arrest report, Toles refused to leave the area. His address was listed as "the streets of Key West".

Either up his nose or his veins no doubt. I don't know about being a drug user amigo. From what I remember reading his mental issues go all the way back to college. I think Andy F took a chance on him knowing his talent from their days in Tampa but mental health issues are extremely hard to overcome, without continual therapy and meds. How did he go so long without anyone knowing about him, family, friends, the Dodgers? As of now he has been bailed out and the players union and Dodgers are on it. I wish him the best.

We're in good prospects at 3B. It's probably and more than likely the reason the team didn't pursue Rendon and the likes. I've read that Vargas looks to be a freakin' stud, let us hope.

The future of the All-Star Game in L.A.
The Dodgers were looking forward to hosting the 2020 All-Star Game on July 14, and took on a massive stadium renovation project to mark the occasion.
Given that the season is not expected to start until July 23 or 24, that date is certainly no longer in play. Whether there will be any sort of all-MLB showcase this season -- and whether that will take place at Dodger Stadium -- remains to be determined.
“We’re still awaiting definitive word from Major League Baseball,” said Friedman. “I think once we get the schedule for this year, I think there will be a lot of clarity on that.”
Atlanta’s Truist Park is set to host the 2021 All-Star Game, but no venues are confirmed for 2022-25.

That's right. I had completely forgotten about the All-Star Game. Curse you cruel fate!

That's right. I had completely forgotten about the All-Star Game. Curse you cruel fate! I saw that 2022 was a real strong possibility. The intrigue was booing the Astros' every chance possible. I don't see the game this year it's just too tight.

Dodgers set initial player pool; 9 spots remain
By Manny Randhawa @mannyonmlb June 28, 2020
The Dodgers announced a player pool of 51 for their summer camp roster ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. PT deadline. Camp is set to open Wednesday, with the first workout scheduled for Friday at Dodger Stadium. Some players will report to an alternate training site that hasn't been announced yet.
The player pool includes all players on the 40-man roster plus seven non-roster invitees to Spring Training and four other players from within the organization. With a maximum of 60 players allowed in the pool, Los Angeles has nine spots open.
The pool includes 18 of the Dodgers' top 30 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline -- infielder Gavin Lux (No. 1), right-handers Dustin May (No. 2) and Josiah Gray (No. 3), catcher Keibert Ruiz (No. 4), right-hander Brusdar Graterol (No. 5) and Tony Gonsolin (No. 6), catcher Diego Cartaya (No. 9), right-hander Mitchell White (No. 11), outfielder DJ Peters (No. 13), right-handers Dennis Santana (No. 16) and Gerardo Carrillo (No. 17), infielder Edwin Ríos (No. 18), right-hander Michael Grove (No. 19), infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry (No. 20), left-hander Victor Gonzalez (No. 21), infielder Omar Estevez (No. 24) and right-handers Edwin Uceta (No. 25) and Andre Jackson (No. 30).
Dodger Stadium (40)
Pitchers (22): Scott Alexander, Pedro Báez, Walker Buehler, Caleb Ferguson, Dylan Floro, Tony Gonsolin, Victor Gonzalez, Brusdar Graterol, Kenley Jansen, Joe Kelly, Clayton Kershaw, Adam Kolarek, Dustin May, Jimmy Nelson, David Price, Dennis Santana, Josh Sborz, Ross Stripling, Blake Treinen, Julio Urías, Mitchell White, Alex Wood
Catchers (3): Austin Barnes, Keibert Ruiz, Will Smith
Infielders (6): Matt Beaty, Gavin Lux, Max Muncy, Edwin Ríos, Corey Seager, Justin Turner
Outfielders (5): Mookie Betts, Joc Pederson, DJ Peters, AJ Pollock, Luke Raley
Infielders/outfielders (4): Cody Bellinger, Enrique Hernández, Zach McKinstry, Chris Taylor
Alternate site (11)
Pitchers (6): Gerardo Carrillo, Josiah Gray, Michael Grove, Andre Jackson, Marshall Kasowski, Edwin Uceta
Catchers (2): Diego Cartaya, Rocky Gale
Infielders (1): Omar Estevez
Outfielders (2): Zach Reks, Cody Thomas
According to MLB's Operating Manual, all players on a 40-man roster “that the Club anticipates participating” during the season will be part of the player pool, while the rest will be made up of non-40-man roster players under contract. Any 40-man-roster players who are not included in a player pool (for example, maybe a prospect who isn’t deemed ready for the Majors) will still be paid during the season.
No team will be allowed to exceed the limit of 60 players in its player pool at any time during Spring Training 2.0 or the regular season.

Was just thinking about how long the Dodgers have been in LA now. Fourteen teams have come into being since then, because of that fateful move.
This is in no particular order. Just when they occurred to me. Asterisks denote teams I believe are a direct result of the Dodgers' move out west.
Mets* Nationals* Royals* Mariners* Blue Jays Dbacks* Rockies* Angels* Astros Rangers Rays Marlins Brewers Padres*
1 - The Mets came into being to replace the Giants & Dodgers in New York. They adopted both teams' colors. They have a statue of Jackie Robinson out front, for Christ's sake. 2 - The Montreal Royals were the Dodgers' top minor league affiliate until 1960. Then the Dodgers named the Los Angeles Angels as their top minor league team. The minor league Angels relocated to Seattle. Of course the major league Expos gave Washington yet another bite at the apple when they moved to our nation's capital & became the Nationals. 3 - Took their name from Montreal's minor league team. The A's had stopped off in KC on their migration out west to Oakland. Highly doubtful markets the size of Kansas City & Oakland get a shot if the Dodgers & Giants hadn't already blazed a trail out west. Walter O'Malley had convinced the owner of the Giants to move out west with him. 4 - The Mariners replaced the Dodgers' top minor league affiliate, the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels were renamed the Spokane Indians. Tommy Lasorda managed them. Then they moved south & became the Albuquerque Dukes. 5 - The Dbacks live off our vapors. Proof of that is in every action they take. Chasing off Dodgers fans from view of cameras behind home plate, seemingly nonsensical brushback pitches, a United States Senator taking umbrage at our players swimming in their pool, etc. 6 - See Dbacks. Colorado has handled their second class status much better though. 7 - We took the LA market from them. The American League wanted to expand in 1961. Los Angeles was seen as a still ripe market then. For decades before that MLB ignored us. Walter O'Malley proved them wrong. 8 - Does anyone seriously believe the Padres aren't Los Angeles south? Going to their games is like going to Dodger Stadium, minus the traffic.
Eight teams that wouldn't exist except for the Dodgers. All came into being after their move to Los Angeles.

Add the Rangers & Twins to that list. Minneapolis was courting the Giants before O'Malley lured them west. Then Minnesota settled on the first Senators team. They became the Twins.
The second Senators team moved to Arlington. There wouldn't be a second team if the first team hadn't moved to Minneapolis. They became the Rangers.
The Angels were the only AL team west of the Mississippi from 1961-67? Wow.
10 teams now. For all that O'Malley was voted to the Hall 29 years after he died. You're welcome.

So one of our trade acquisitions and expected starter in our rotation is taking the year off and we’ll get a big 60 games out of Mookie (if the season even starts at all).
I don’t “befront” any of the players for skipping a modified season and looking out for themselves, their family and friends against a disease that could potentially (although not likely) kill them.
But sacrificing Verdugo for these two certainly looks uglier every day this goes further in 2020 and could go immediately to the top of the “DOH” scale.
GO DODGERS!!!

But sacrificing Verdugo for these two certainly looks uglier every day this goes further in 2020 and could go immediately to the top of the “DOH” scale. GO DODGERS!!! Thanks. I just checked that out. No David Price. 'The Dodgers acquired Price and former AL MVP Mookie Betts from the Boston Red Sox this past winter in an effort to boost their chances of ending their 31-year World Series drought. With the Giants and Dodgers reportedly set to open the 2020 season on July 23, Price likely was expected to be Los Angeles's No. 3 starter behind Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler. But now that Price has opted out of the season, the Giants don't have to face the 2012 AL Cy Young award winner until the 2021 season. With Price out of the rotation, that likely bumps Julio Urias, Alex Wood, Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin and Ross Stripling into contention for the No. 3 slot. The Giants aren't expected to contend for the NL West crown or a playoff spot this season, but in 60 games, something weird could happen, and the Giants will take all the help they can get. As for Price, he's leaving a hefty chunk of change on the table by opting out of the season. The 34-year-old was scheduled to make $11.9 million in prorated salary this season, but he won't collect any of that. Price still has two years left on his contract, with each year worth $32 million, so the Dodgers will still have a chance to reap the benefits of the offseason trade with the Red Sox. Betts is a free agent after this season, so his time in Los Angeles are numbered if he doesn't re-sign.' Not catastrophic.

A lot of this is speculative and also dependent upon if Verdugo turns into the stud projected (I think he does!). So, we get a number three pitcher for two years at $32 per year on a team already stacked with pitching and four or five guys that could and one of whom will fill his spot in the rotation.
I don’t see the Dodgers getting into a bidding war for the services of Mr. Betts, no matter what he does for us in these yet to be played 60 games. They’ve proven time and again they are not giving out 10 year contracts to anyone.
And even if they did offer Mookie 10, we all know some team will come along and give him 12. And that’s when LA says “best of luck to ya’, Mook”.
We begged management to get us a marquee player for years but unfortunately when they finally pulled the trigger, it was for a one year rental that we may never know how good he and this team could have become.
GO DODGERS!!!
