Yeah - it usually takes Doc at least a few games before he starts with his lineup tinkering. But wasn’t part of the reason for acquiring and signing Betts was for the lead-off position? GO DODGERS!!!

Hi folks.... I’m back. I CANNOT WAIT until tomorrow. Finally we are back to baseball , and with greatest team in the history of the Dodgers. A lot can go wrong with COVID, injuries and all, but I feel this is our year more than ever. Team is downright dangerous. Mookie signing is pure brilliance - I don’t really care about the years even though they seem like too much. They will work that out. Consider who we could have had instead - Harper.... Machado .... Rendon.... Lol. Instead we hold out and hit the jackpot. Mookie is top 5 in all of baseball, as is Cody. Obviously this limits our signings in future. Cody has to be paid, Buehler will have to be paid in a while. Seems the odd man out will be Corey and that does bother me a bit. I see him having a monster year this short season. I want to see JT get a title badly, he’s been an all time great Dodger, this will be his last season with us 😥 :-( Nice to see you're back bulldog. I was starting to wonder if the COVID had gotten you in NY. Glad it didn't. Have to agree that this looks to be the most talented hitting team in Dodger history. Starting pitching is deep but other than Buehler I think it lacks a Koufax, Drysdale one two punch and who knows if the former Predator (chopped off his dreds now) can be that lights out closer. Other than that this team is great and I'm sure there isn't a team that is as stacked other than the Yanks. Disagree about not caring about the number of years Betts got. I know that might be the going rate for a star hitter but man he'll have 5 to 6 more years past age 33/34. I guess Andy F figures he might not be around as GM in 8, 10, 12 years from now. I do care about the years but I guess it was a necessary evil. I'm not sure this will be JT's last year with the team he might be brought back on a Chase Utley, David Freese type of deal because some of the options might not be ready to take over 3B full time. Edwin Rios seems a little shaky there and might need more reps, Muncy? Oh hell no, Beaty more than likely not at all, and Hoese and Vargas years away. Heres the thing.... JT is 35 years old and still incredibly productive . Why are we cutting Mookie’s production off at age 33/34? Most great players are productive well after that age. None of us know when he becomes unproductive but there is no reason to think he stops being productive at that age. He’s likely a hall of fame baseball player. derek jeter hit .316 at age 38/39 arod hit 33 HRs at age 39/40 I could go on all day with examples no way I am cutting him off at 33/34, he’s too good. If he’s unproductive at the end then he will likely be traded. That’s a long time away though. Great signing.

Totally. Didn't they just massively sign this generation's "Rickey Henderson" per Davey Dumb Dumb LOL but he's going with the LHH Muncy leading off because Cueto is RH. My God! Does he overthink this or does he overthink this!

Not a big deal Max batting first, he’s a high OBP guy- get on base! Many times the best hitter on the team bats 2nd. Mike Trout for example. Cant wait for the game tonight.

If he’s unproductive at the end then he will likely be traded. That’s a long time away though. Great signing. Yeah, JT is still productive so why would you say this is his last season with the team. Age 33/34 is when the common human athlete begins to see decline. Can he still be productive after that, sure. But, the Dodgers are going to pay him top dollar for 5/6 more years past an athlete's perceived prime. You make a comparison to Jeter and ARod none hit for both power and average at that age when they were clearly overpaid. Here are their numbers: Jeter age 38-- .316 AVG/ 15 HR...$16 million dollars Jeter age 39-- .190 AVG/ 1 HR...$17 million dollars Jeter age 40-- .256 AVG/ 4 HR...$12 million dollars ARod age 35-- .276 AVG/ 16 HR...$32 million dollars ARod age 36-- .272 AVG/ 18 HR...$29 million dollars ARod age 37-- .244 AVG/ 7 HR...$28 million dollars ARod age 38-- DID NOT PLAY FOR PEDS....$3 million dollars ARod age 39-- .250 AVG/ 33 HR (Could have been on PEDS again)...$22 million dollars ARod age 40-- .200 AVG/ 9 HR...released $21 million dollars ARod age 41-- released $21 million dollars So, we see that while Betts is necessary for the Dodgers he is a necessary EVIL which looks to be over paid at the end. No question.

Season hasn’t even started, this is supposed to be a joyous day,
Seriously - Who the fuck cares who bats first? Let’s all Try and understand the logic behind it before lashing out. It’s not really a hard concept to understand.
If this board is just completely negative all year then I don’t want to participate. I am completely stoked for this game and this season. No one will ruin it for me. We have the best team in the league, you would never know it with some of the comments here. Whatever- do as you like and I’ll do the same.
Go Dodgers!
BTW - Is anyone sending in for their cardboard cutout at the stadium? I’m doing it tomorrow hopefully.

No question. I think it’s JTs last year because I don’t think we will be able to afford him. Hope I’m wrong. you didn’t answer my question why you cut betts’ production off at age 33/34. and I don’t care what jeter and arpd did at age 40 and 41.... We have betts until age 39. Or less if he’s traded at the end. And in 10-12 years from now $30 million will not be a lot of money. Let’s not compare what he makes then to what guys made 20 years before him. That’s manipulative and biased.

I’m waiting to see if Mary Hart and her oldster are locked into their usual seats behind home plate. I heard some of the field level sections were pretty expensive. Where are you going to be and do you have the prices for each section? GO DODGERS!!!
