"ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Thursday, citing sources, the players or the amount of money the Red Sox are sending the Dodgers to cover part of the three years and $96 million remaining on Price’s contract could be amended, or that Boston and Los Angeles theoretically could opt for a two-team trade or involve a third team other than Minnesota. The Twins reportedly are to receive veteran pitcher Kenta Maeda as part of the original deal. It seems it should be as simple a matter of trading a prospect other than Graterol to get this thing done, but there is much fine print and contingencies involved. We know this deal will eventually get done, but this is nuts. The issue is that Friedman made out like a bandit and media pressure made the Sox shit their pants. I'm sure Friedman is thinking that he had a deal and he can get another team to take Maeda and give up something similar to what the Twins were giving up and can still make this happen. If it were me I'd say go fuck yourselves Red Sox keep the 1 year rental Betts and that horrible contract Price trade Joc and Stripling to the Angels still and get their prospects and wait for the Indians to sell Lindor and the Mets Syndergaard. Let's go! |

On the MLB homepage, it says the Twins' involvement is "up in the air". Even if they pull out, the deal is not dead, just delayed. I've never heard of such controversey about a trade. Nah, I think it's dead. Red Sox concocted that BS story about the Twins pitcher, when the real issue is they're owner not wanting to trade anymore after the backlash from trading Betts. Don't think there's any offer they'll take at this point. Betts saying he didn't want to leave Boston doesn't help matters either... Yeah and the cat is out of the hat for the Dodgers. I still want then to do the Joc and Strip deal with the Angles and get more prospects and try to do something that way. Prospects, Verdugo and Maeda and get Lindor or someone similar now or even towards the deadline. The spineless Sox need to move those guys sooner or later too so... If it's later then offer even less fuck them. |

In current talks, #MNTwins are working hard to satisfy #Dodgers and the Dodgers are working hard to satisfy #RedSox, sources say. Two separate deals are possible (for example, Graterol-plus for Maeda and Verdugo and others for Betts/Price). But all three teams involved in talks.

All the talent and potential in the world could not overcome the inability or willingness to learn and grow from his mistakes. He’s a grown man, yet still has the maturity of a pre-teen. I was one of his biggest champions, but when he was stupid enough to state that he didn’t give his best effort “until his contract year”, that’s when he lost me. I mean, it’s no secret players have and will continue to play that way - but to be so arrogant as to actually announce it to the press, and then go on to another simple “meh” season, it’s no wonder both the Reds & Injuns dumped his lame ass. GO DODGERS!!! |

Deal is moving to 2 separate deals, one with twins and one with Red Sox.
Supposedly we end up with Graterol for Maeda. And then package Verdugo with someone else for betts and price. That sounds like a better deal anyway, Graterol may be a real good piece for the bullpen. Throws close to 100 mph.
