There are at least a few that could be removed from that list.
I would think.

www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=alvare000yadYadier Alvarez rhp 1 year (2019) 1 year (2019) contract selected by LA Dodgers 11/20/18 re-signed by LA Dodgers 3/19 signed by LA Dodgers 7/2/15 as a free agent from Cuba $16M signing bonus agent: Beverly Hills Sports Council ML service: 0.000 November 20, 2018 08:48 PM Dodgers' Yadier Alvarez: Added to 40-man roster by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Alvarez was added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster Tuesday. Once considered a fairly elite pitching prospect, Alvarez's fantasy stock has plummeted in recent seasons. He has electric stuff, but struggles to throw strikes, and probably profiles better out of the bullpen long term. That said, he definitely has big-league stuff and could eventually become a late-inning reliever. If the Dodgers elect to go that route, he could reach the big leagues this summer. www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cingrto01.shtmlTony Cingrani lhp 1 year/$2.65M (2019) 1 year/$2.65M (2018) re-signed by LA Dodgers 11/30/18 (avoided arbitration) 1 year/$2.3M (2018) June 10, 2019 08:36 PM Dodgers' Tony Cingrani: Ruled out for season by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Cingrani is out for the season after having arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder labrum, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. This was the likely development for the left-hander after he underwent the procedure on his shoulder following a setback during a rehab assignment, but the Dodgers made it official Monday, as Gurnick reports Cingrani will miss all of 2019. He didn't make a big-league appearance this season after posting a 4.76 ERA, a 1.10 WHIP and a 36:6 K:BB over 22.2 innings in 2018.

Let's see; July 2nd. Joc led off & played first. He went 2-0-0-0 w/ a walk before being replaced by Matt Beaty in the 8th inning. Pederson left the game. The Dodgers then rallied to beat the Dbacks 5-4 in the 9th inning. How should that be ruled? Joc didn't commit any errors. He didn't so much at the plate either. They kinda won in spite of him.
Let's call that a wash in the won / loss column.
He's now batting 8-37 / .216-0-1 as a first baseman / leadoff hitter. The Dodgers are still 4-4 .500.
July 3rd, Joc leads off at first based & later shifts to leftfield. He goes 4-0-2-1 w/ a walk. It was an extra inning game. Pederson moved to left in the 10th inning. Muncy replaced him at first. Cody Bellinger won the game with a walk-off homerun. It seems like all of Joc's plate appearances were as a first baseman. So that makes him 10-41 / .244-0-2 & the Dodgers 5-4 / .556 with him leading off at first base.
July 4th. Pederson leads off at first base, & once again moves to left later in the game. 3-0-1-1. He also got hit by a pitch. Muncy committed his 9th error. This one at second base. The Dodgers beat the Padres 5-1. Pederson went 0-1 in leftfield. Joc now batting 11-43 / .256-0-3 as a leadoff first baseman. The Dodgers are 6-4 / .600.
July 5th. Joc goes 0-1 as a pinch hitter. Everything stays frozen.
July 6th. Pederson posts 4-0-0-0 at first & leading off. He had a throwing error. Doesn't appear to have caused any damage. The Dodgers still lose to San Diego 3-1 though. Dodgers are 6-5 / .556 & Joc is 11-47 / .234-0-3.
July 7th. Joc goes 0-2 in leftfield. Muncy started at first & Rios finished there. No errors. The Padres beat the Dodgers 5-3 though. Everything stays frozen.
That's to the All-Star break.
The other night I think it was Orel Hershiser said the Dodgers' defense has been horrible for about a month. This sure coincides.

July 13th. Joc was a pinch hitter / DH. Muncy played first. Hernandez had an error at second. Wild pitch by Kelly. Is that the one that went into the second deck? Dodgers win 11-2. Everything stays frozen.
July 14th. Joc was a pinch runner / leftfielder. Taylor & Muncy had errors. The Dodgers beat the Red Sox 7-4.
Frozen.
July 15th. Joc leads off & plays first base the entire game. 6-1-2-2. He had a double. Even stole a base. Seager & Barnes had errors. Dodgers beat the Phillies 16-2. Dodgers are 7-5 / .583. Pederson is 13-53 / .245-0-5.
July 16th. Joc leads off & plays first. 3-1-1-1. Hits his 21st homer. First as a first baseman. Turner & Seager had errors. Jansen melts down in the 9h inning & the Dodgers blow one to the Phillies 9-8. Dodgers at 7-6 .538 & Pederson at 14-56 / .250-1-6. This is what? 13 games?
July 17th. Joc leads off & plays leftfield. 4-0-0-0. He pulls a hat trick, with three K's. Muncy has 2 errors, both at 3rd base. Dodgers still win 7-2.
Frozen.
July 18th. Joc in left. 3-0-0- w/ a walk. Muncy with yet another error at second. Bellinger even had one. Beaty played first base & had a very good game. Dodgers lose to the Phillies 7-6, as Philadelphia scores 4 runs in the 7th inning versus Ferguson, Floro & Kelly.
Frozen.
July 19th. Pederson leads off at first. 4-0-1-0. He & Seager both have errors. Dodgers beat the Marlins 2-1. The Dodgers are now 8-6 / .571 in these situations. Joc is 15-61 / .246-1-6 in 14 games.

That isn't quite all of it, obviously. I was hoping to find one or two glaring things. Some of the defensive mistakes can be written up to injuries. Turner has missed some time. Pollock was out a long time. Muncy is who Max is. A DH masquerading as a position player in the NL. Freese being out, etc.
Some things seemed preventable though. Yes, Kike's hitting was atrocious before he got hurt. But isn't he better defensively than Muncy? When Turner was out, why not just stick Max at third & be done with it if you're going to play Pederson at first? Why the musical chairs? Seager didn't look right when he first came back. Like he had been rushed. Or rushed himself. It's up to the team to decide when he's ready. Smith should have BEEN up. So should Lux. Screw the clock. I hate to sound like those alarmists from the MLB board, but I'm 60. This is maybe the most talented Dodger team I've ever seen (save the bullpen). Don't waste it by trying guys out here & there. I get the thing about roster space. Carrying more relief pitchers. But why do we have dead weight on the 40 man roster? We aren't getting anything out of Alvarez or Cingrani this year, & that's just two.
It seems like Roberts has PUT Joc into a tailspin by screwing with his head. He's not that mentally strong. We saw that early on in his career with the constant experimenting with his swing. Then he put on weight. Ned Colletti said something to the effect of - "This isn't the 'I'm trying really hard league.'" They sent Joc back down.
Stop experimenting, call up Lux & DO something about that blasted bullpen.

Btw - I get that Hernandez & Taylor need some playing time to stay sharp too. But they're redundant & now both are hurt anyway.

July 20th. Joc goes 3-1-1-1 starting at first base & leading off. He hit his 22nd homerun. 2 errors by Seager. 1 by Hernandez. Chargois, Ferguson & Garcia were gas cans out of the pen. Baez blew the save & vultured a win. Dodgers beat Miami 10-6.
Dodgers now 9-6 / .621. Joc is 16-64 / .250-2-7 in 15 games.
July 21st. Joc plays in right. Muncy at first. No errors in a 9-0 win over the Marlins.
Scratch.
July 23rd. 5-0-1-1 w/ Joc leading off & playing first & left. Moved to left in the 8th inning. So 4-0-1-1 from 1st. Another error by Justin Turner. Maeda & two thirds of the bullpen cost the game though. Dodgers lose to the Halos 5-4. Dodgers 9-7 / .563 & Pederson is 17-68 / .250-2-7 in 16 games.
July 24th. Joc in left. Scratch. Muncy at first. Error by Barnes. Another loss to the Angels.
July 26th. Joc at first & leading off. 3-2-1-0 w/ a walk. An error by Turner & a shaky performance by Jansen. Still got the save. Dodgers beat Washington 4-2. Dodgers. 10-7 / .588. 18-71 / .254-2-7 in 17 games.
July 27th. Joc at first but not leading off. 3-0-1-0 w/ a walk. No errors. Will Smith has 6 RBI's & the Dodgers win 9-3. I'll count that one. 11-7 / .611. 19-74 / .257-2-7 in 18 games.
July 28th. Joc leading off at first. 4-0-0-0. Another error for Pederson. Jaime Schultz got pasted out of the bullpen. Dodgers lose to the Nats to the Nationals 11-4. Dodgers 11-8 / .579. Joc 19-78 / .244-2-7 in 19 games.
July 29th. Joc leading off at first. 4-0-0-1. Errors by Pederson & Muncy. Max at second base. Maeda & Sborz pitched like crap. It was at Coors Field though. Dodgers lose to the Rockies 9-1. Dodgers are now 11-9 / .550. Pederson is 19-82 / .232-2-7 in 20 games.

Baseball Reference has Joc's record as .222-2-7 / .282 / .347 at first & .247-20-40 in the outfield. I might have missed something. Close enough though.
Roberts has them practicing defense, right?

I think Lux is our postseason 2nd baseman. They may wait til September, and that does make some sense if you think about it. But we are def weak there, I see him as the fix right now.
Get max to 1b, he’s bad enough there but better than 2B.

Coincidence that the trade deadline went by and Joc will no longer be playing 1B. If there was any hope of including Joc in a package it lessened and lessened the more he stunk it up towards the deadline. Anyhow, he was starting to struggle too much good move.

Joc hit his 25th last night. 3 run homer to put the team up frm 13- 3 to 16- 3. I think we can all agree that one goes in the “irrelevant” column. Didn’t see Toronto coming back from 10 down after Kersh was removed taking away the Jays only shot at additional runs off the bat of young Bichette. Let alone 13 down. But you never know - Yimi could have come in and given up 13 solo moon shots. 😝😁😝 GO DODGERS!!!
