I've heard that Rich Hill will probably get another start or be the opener on Sunday. If he can't go more than 2 IP in a possible game 4 in postseason I don't see the need to have him on the roster rather than another guy in the pen that can go multiple games for those 1 or 2 IP. I think they were being a bit cautious (maybe OVERLY cautious) with Hill, especially after he “legged” out that double to the corner. My guess is he’ll get at least four or maybe five innings in the finale and will be on the postseason roster, if not for the NL playoffs, then certainly for the WS as that will give him another week plus to build up his strength and tolerance for his knee pain. After the quick hook he got in Game 4 last year, Doc at least owes him that and a shot at a ring before he departs LA. GO DODGERS!!!

You’re not getting it. Game 4 is a bullpen game, he only needs to go 2 or 3. Cmon man, try and keep up.

I’m thinking SWEEP that first series and therefore no need for a game four starter. After that and with the extra time off, they might just get five or six out of Hill in a Game 4. But if they go “bullpen” for any of the three series and it works like it did last night, I have ZERO problems with that strategy. My only concern is we won’t be playing weaklings like the Madres and it might come back to bite us in the ass. Should be interesting either way and I’m looking forward to that Stella in Tampa / St. Pete! GO DODGERS!!!

If he goes 4 or 5 as jrgreene6 is saying then it's not a bullpen game is it? Geez you just like to put yourself out there. SMH!

Yeah, 4, 5, 6 IP would be nice but just to put him on the roster for 2 IP doesn't make sense. Gonsolin can get us 4 or 5 on his own.

Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Sharp in relief appearance
Rotowire 3H ago
Gonsolin (4-2) picked up the win Tuesday against the Padres, striking out three batters across two perfect innings.
Rich Hill pitched the first two innings before giving way to Gonsolin, who needed just 24 pitches (15 strikes) to retire all six batters he faced. It was a nice bounce-back performance from the right-hander after he allowed two runs across two innings in his previous outing. Gonsolin will likely make one more relief appearance before the end of the season as he auditions for a postseason bullpen role.

Of course there is a point. He starts and goes 2 or 3, no problem. Also available for other games.
