Dodgers' Matt Beaty: In the mix for postseason roster
Rotowire 10H ago
Beaty is a serious candidate to make the postseason roster, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Beaty did not begin the season identified as one of the organization's top prospects but has made an impact with his steady bat and versatility in the field. He has compiled a .279/.328/.485 slash line with nine homers and 46 RBI in 250 plate appearances this season while seeing time at first base, third base and in left field. Although manager Dave Roberts has not committed to Beaty's inclusion on the postseason roster, he did acknowledge that the absence of Alex Verdugo (oblique) has opened the door for such a scenario to take place.

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Hopes to pitch from mound Tuesday
Rotowire 1D ago
Hill (knee) is planning to throw off a mound Tuesday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Hill is in a race against time to return to game action before the playoffs, though he suffered a similar knee injury in spring training and was sidelined for multiple weeks. For what it's worth, Hill suggested that he may be able to continue pitching immediately with a brace and a modified delivery, though the Dodgers are certain to quell any such discussion until reviewing the results of his MRI set for Monday.

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Hopes to pitch from mound Tuesday IDK, I don't want him breaking down or being ineffective in post season because of injury. Dude has about 2 weeks to show something.

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Likely to pitch Tuesday
Rotowire 6M ago
Hill (knee) will face live hitters Friday and hopes to return to game action as a reliever Tuesday against the Padres, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Hill's MRI results showed no structural damage to his strained left knee, opening the door for the southpaw to continue pitching as long as he is able to tolerate pain. Hill wore a brace and threw a 22-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, so he is clearly determined to do whatever it takes to be ready for the postseason. Should his live session go well Friday, Hill would likely make a one- or two-inning appearance Tuesday before potentially building up his pitch count in a starting role in the regular-season finale Sept. 29 in San Francisco.

"as long as he is able to tolerate pain."
Duh, isn't this the guy with a history of 'IL' stints because of blisters?

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Doubtful to start Wednesday
Rotowire 2H ago
Turner (ankle) is unlikely to start against the Rays on Wednesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Turner has now missed eight straight games with a sore ankle, though he did indicate Tuesday that he is "getting better every day," per Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. The decision to sit him out again Wednesday makes perfect sense for a team that has already wrapped up the National League West and has an off day Thursday. Chances are good that Turner will be back in the lineup Friday, though Los Angeles won't push the issue as they have plenty of time to get the 34-year-old back into the fold by the start of the postseason.

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Remains sidelined
Rotowire Sep 20, 2019
Turner (ankle) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies, according to Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com.
Turner had a chance to return to action Friday following a team off day, but he is not ready to play just yet, and will be held out of the lineup for the 10th game in a row. Expect the Dodgers to continue mixing and matching at third base until Turner is ready to resume playing.

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Absent from Saturday's lineup
Rotowire Sep 21, 2019
Pederson is not in Saturday's lineup against the Rockies.
Pederson has gotten inconsistent playing time of late, accruing three or fewer plate appearances in three consecutive contests entering Saturday. While the Dodgers faced a couple southpaws earlier in the week, Chi-Chi Gonzalez is on the mound for the Rockies Saturday, so the reasoning for Pederson's absence is unclear. Chris Taylor will take over in right field and bat fifth.
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Out Saturday with quad issue
Rotowire Sep 21, 2019
Muncy (quadriceps) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.
This hardly comes as a surprise, as Muncy left Friday's game with quad tightness and the Dodgers have no reason to test their luck with him. Muncy felt the tightness while breaking out of the batter's box on his two-run double in the seventh inning. Justin Turner (ankle) returns to third base as David Freese mans first.
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Back in lineup
Rotowire Sep 21, 2019
Turner (ankle) is back in the lineup Saturday against the Rockies.
This is great news, but the reins aren't completely off; manager Dave Roberts said Turner will be limited to three at-bats in his first start since Sept. 7. Turner is expected to start again Sunday but is unlikely to play the whole game, as the Dodgers are looking to get him back up to speed gradually.

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Start moved to Sunday
Rotowire 3H ago
Ryu's next start has been moved to Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Ryu was in line to pitch against the Rockies on Saturday, but he will instead be on the mound for the finale of the series Sunday. The switch means that Ryu will be pitching on seven days' rest and also sets him up to start Game 3 in the NLDS behind Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler.
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Start switched to Saturday
Rotowire 4H ago
Buehler will start Saturday's game against Colorado, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Buehler was originally scheduled to start Sunday, but manager Dave Roberts announced that Buehler and Hyun-Jin Ryu would flip starting assignments for the final two games of the series against the Rockies. The decision was likely made in order to set up preferred pitching assignments in the NLDS.

Looks like Captain Hardhead is going “stay the course” with his postseason pitching, setting things up for the trio of Kershaw, Ryu and Buehler as his rotation.
Ryu was pretty much untouchable ALL season and had a few rough games lately, very likely due to fatigue. After getting extra rest, he returned to his earlier form with seven shut out innings in his last start.
Buehler has been one of our most consistent starters all year.
Yet, as USUAL, Kersh will get the opener. I LOVE Kersh; he’s been one of my fav Dodgers since he came up and is the ONLY player jersey I own.
But IMHO, he’s our third best starter this year. He has significant first inning issues and has given up more HR’s this year than ever. And I get he’s been VERY good at Dodger Stadium this year,
But he also got blasted for three long balls there last night - two to open the game. And we aren’t going to be playing the lame ass Rockies and their crappy pitching in the playoffs or World Series.
Two long balls in the first inning might be all guys like Scherzer, Strasburg, Verlander and Cole need.
I guess his stubbornness regarding the pitching isn’t going to be limited to just the Vulture.
Looking forward to another long, cold winter . . .
GO DODGERS!!!
