106 would be a franchise record.

So Mets fans think degrom has CYA locked up. Not sure how,
Ryu has lower ERA, better record and a great WHIP, higher than Jake though, Jake has strikeouts but the number isn’t alarming. 255, the only category he leads in.
Svherzer had 300 strikeouts last year and lost. Why would that suddenly be the barometer this year?

106 means nothing for a franchise chasing 11 more wins since 1988.

106 means nothing for a franchise chasing 11 more wins since 1988. Actually 106 wins is quite meaningful. Gives them home field against ever team accept Houston. We all know the goal is for 11 more. That’s hardly news here.

106 means nothing. Marlins 1997 Angels 2002 Marlins 2003 Red Sox 2004 Cardinals 2011 Giants 2014 Since 1969, only 12 teams have claimed baseball's best record and gone on to win the World Series. Sports Illustrated › 2018/09/30 The goal for 11 more. Let's go!

So 12 times in 50 years the team with the best record wins. That’s 24%, sounds about right. 3 to 1 odds is pretty accurate most years.
This year:
Astros 2-1 Dodgers 5-2 Yankees 4-1 Braves 10-1 Twins 12-1 Cards 12-1
So oddsmakers give Astros a 33% chance of winning it all, Dodgers about 28.6%. Yankees 20%. Numbers won’t be perfect since there is vig built in so it’s really a little less than those numbers.
Won’t be easy.
