Dodgers' Justin Turner: Swats another homer
Rotowire Sep 4, 2019
Turner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over Colorado on Tuesday.
Turner plated an insurance run with a 409-foot blast to left field in the eighth inning. The long ball was his 27th of the season to tie his career high. The 34-year-old has racked up five homers in his last nine games and is tied for third in the majors with 17 home runs since the All-Star break.
Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Dealing with sore left foot Rotowire 3H ago
Taylor did not play Tuesday due to lingering discomfort after fouling a ball off his left foot Monday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue1958 reports.
Taylor stayed in the game after fouling a ball off his foot Monday but was sore enough to warrant a spot on the bench Tuesday. He was reportedly available to pinch hit, however, suggesting that the injury is minor. Taylor is hitting .270 with 11 home runs, 47 RBI and seven steals in 103 games this season.
Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Will return to Dodgers on Friday
Rotowire 3H ago
Barnes will be called up to the Dodgers on Friday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
With Will Smith thriving as a major-league starter and Russell Martin set as his backup, Barnes is likely to take the role of third catcher and occasional utility player. The 29-year-old has struggled mightily with the big club this season, hitting .198 with five homers in 207 at-bats. However, he performed well after being sent down to the minors, slashing .264/.375/.540 with six long balls and 17 RBI in 23 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Sharp in abbreviated start
Rotowire 5H ago
Urias didn't factor into the decision against the Rockies on Tuesday, giving up one earned run on two hits over three innings, striking out three and walking none as the Dodgers eventually won 5-3.
It was an abbreviated outing as Urias works his way back into action coming off his 20-game suspension, so he didn't qualify for a decision, but he looked good over the opening three innings before making way for his bullpen. He should see his workload increase as the Dodgers attempt to ready him to be able to make starts in the playoffs.
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Taking ground balls Wednesday
Rotowire 11H ago
Muncy (wrist) is scheduled to field ground balls Wednesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Muncy could return next week, and his resumption of baseball activities bodes well for that potential timeline. Assuming all goes well Wednesday, the 29-year-old is expected to advance to hitting shortly thereafter.
Dodgers' Alex Verdugo: Set to return next week
Rotowire 11H ago
Verdugo (oblique) is expected to rejoin the Dodgers ahead of next week's three-game series against the Orioles, which begins Tuesday, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
Verdugo began a rehab assignment with rookie-level Ogden on Monday and will spend about a week getting back up to speed after missing a month due to the right oblique strain. The 23-year-old had a .294/.342/.475 slash line with 12 homers in 106 games prior to the injury.
Dodgers' Dustin May: Facing hitters Wednesday Rotowire 11H ago
May (head) will face hitters Wednesday on the field prior to the game against the Rockies, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
May was hit in the head by a line drive Sunday but was cleared of a concussion, but he'll still do some throwing before returning to game action. Manager Dave Roberts said the team would decide on the 21-year-old's upcoming role following the throwing session.

Mets game with the Nats last night was hilarious. At the bowling alley watching, many Mets fans all excited as they had a 5-2 lead with the GREAT Jacob deGrom on the mound in the 8th. Home run makes it 5-4 No worries THOUGH, Mets score 5 in the 9th, it's now 10-4 and the fake fans still thiNk they're in the WILDCARD race. OOPS, Nats get 7 in the bottom of 9th to win 11-10!! LMAO.

Dodgers' A.J. Pollock: Day off Wednesday Rotowire Sep 4, 2019
Pollock is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Pollock is 4-for-9 (.444) with three extra-base hits in his career against Wednesday's starter for the Rockies, Antonio Senzatela, but his track record was not enough to earn him a start Wednesday night. Chris Taylor will get the start in left field, the position Pollock is expected to play most often down the stretch.
Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Starting Wednesday
Rotowire Sep 4, 2019
Taylor (foot) is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Taylor was held out Tuesday after fouling a ball off his foot in Monday's contest, but that will be the extent of his absence for now. Taylor will start in left field and hit eighth in the Dodgers' batting order Wednesday night.
Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Back in action
Rotowire Sep 4, 2019
Pederson (abdomen) is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Manager Dave Roberts expected Pederson to return Wednesday, and he will do just that after sitting out Tuesday with his abdominal bruise. Pederson will man right field and hit leadoff against Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela.
Dodgers' Edwin Rios: No callup on tap
Rotowire 12M ago
Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Rios won't be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in September, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Rios slashed .270/.340/.575 with 31 home runs during the Pacific Coast League season and posted a .990 OPS in a limited sample of action at the major-league level, but since the Dodgers already boast ample depth at both corner-infield spots, there isn't much of a need for the 25-year-old's services. Matt Beaty and Cody Bellinger already represent lefty-hitting options at first base, and Max Muncy (wrist) looks on track to come off the injured list as soon as next week. It would probably take an injury to everyday third baseman Justin Turner before the Dodgers would consider reversing their plan for Rios.

Dodgers' Kyle Garlick: Won't get callup
Rotowire 16M ago
Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Garlick won't be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in September, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Garlick had previously served as a short-side platoon option in left field in his prior stints in the big leagues this season, slashing .250/.321/.521 across 53 plate appearances. With right-handed hitters Enrique Hernandez, Chris Taylor or Kris Negron all healthy and capable of filling in as outfielders when needed, the Dodgers didn't see a need to bring Garlick aboard as extra depth.

Dodgers' Dustin May: No decision made on return
Rotowire 7H ago May (head) threw a sim inning Wednesday and will be re-evaluated before the Dodgers' upcoming series, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
May reported feeling "all good" after throwing to hitters Wednesday afternoon and has already passed multiple concussion tests after being hit in the head by a line drive Sunday. Although a return to the mound appears imminent, the Dodgers have already named starters for their next series. Therefore, May is likely to continue pitching out of the bullpen when he is cleared to play.

Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Start pushed back
Rotowire Sep 6, 2019
Buehler will not pitch this weekend against the Giants, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
He was originally slated to start Sunday's game on an extra day of rest, but now he will be pushed presumably to Tuesday's game in Baltimore, unless he is dealing with an unreported injury. Julio Urias will start Sunday's game. Buehler gave up six runs in five innings in Monday's home start against the Rockies. The Dodgers have a commanding lead for the best record in the National League, so it would make sense for them to dial back Buehler's workload in an effort to keep him fresh for the postseason.
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Tabbed as Sunday's starter
Rotowire Sep 6, 2019
Urias will start Sunday's game against the Giants, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
He pitched three innings while throwing 44 pitches in his start Tuesday against the Rockies. The expectation is that he will continue to build up from start to start, so he could throw around 60 pitches in Sunday's outing. It's a solid matchup for the young southpaw, but he is far from a lock to go deep enough to qualify for the win.
