Watching a movie about Jackson Pollock, played by Richard Harris. I'm no art critic. Art is subjective. As a layman though, this shit looks like junk, slapped together by a drunken conman. But it goes for tens of millions of dollars.

Pacific Heights is on. I've never seen it before. A friend said he disliked Michael Keaton because of this role. He plays a deadbeat renter. So far he looks like a total nightmare. It's just a role though.

Everything Everywhere All At Once, the multi Academy Award nominee and winner of most of the major categories seemed like it might be worth a viewing, so a couple of weeks ago, I decided to “give it a go”.
After around ten minutes of subtitles mixed with broken English / Japanese dialogue, I turned to something else. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right state of mind.
It was on again last night, so I fired up the DVR for viewing tonight by both the wife and me.
After around ninety minutes, we both looked at each other and said “WTF is this?”. We turned to a new episode of Pawn Stars.
I just happened to flip thru the program guide and see it playing again tonight and tuned it right around the point we had left off earlier.
Another hour later and I’m still thinking WTF did I just waste ANOTHER hour on?
This movie is completely ridiculous, confusing, condescending, pretentious and above all, unwatchable.
How it ever got and won all of those awards is COMPLETELY beyond me. I understand Oscar tends to LOVE artsy, odd and unique films, but this was simply nearly two and a half hours of jumbled crap.
There was one sequence of five or ten minutes of two large rocks talking to each other (in subtitles) - I kid you not.
Do not waste your time.

Zack & Miri Make A Porno was on the other night and while a few years old and not really my “cup of tea”, I decided to give it a look.
Now, I like porn as much as the next guy and considering the cast included a couple of adult stars (Katie Morgan and her lopsided “twins” as well as Traci Lords, who made her name as an underage star of the genre), it had promise going in.
Unfortunately, it was quickly destroyed by its “star”, stoner and all around “nice guy” Seth Rogen, who basically plays the same part in EVERY single film he is in.
The premise itself was fairly ridiculous. Two platonic roommates (Rogen and the always yummy Elizabeth Banks) are broke and decide to make a porno movie to pay off their debts.
They’re SO broke, the apartment they live in has no electric, heat or water and to stay warm, they literally burn a fire in a large industrial metal container in the middle of their living room.
I guess they must’ve disconnected the smoke alarms in the ENTIRE building, as the smoke alone from this would likely travel throughout the structure.
What I can’t seem to fathom and / or accept is how this goofball Rogen continually gets cast in these parts and ends up with some of the hottest chicks on the planet?
Banks in this one, Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up, Charlize Theron in The Long Shot, Rose Byrne in the Neighbors series, Cameron Diaz in The Green Hornet.
I know he’s pretty into the ganj and maybe he blows them a few shotguns, but DAMN - no way a doofus like him could score ANY of these babes on his own or in real life.
I just don’t get it!
⚾️ 1/2 for Banks (no nudity, as USUAL), Morgan and Lords.
GO DODGERS!!!

Just watched a movie that was very much like black exploitation movies of the early 1970's. Don't know if Quentin Tarantino was behind it. All that was missing was Samuel Jackson.
It was set in the old West. The Rufus Buck Gang. Good so far. Cherokee Bill. Okay. Bass Reeves. Hmmm...Do I know whether or not Bass Reeves tracked the Rufus Buck Gang? Rufus was played by Idris Elba. Isn't he a little old to be Rufus Buck? Bass Reeves was played by Delroy Lindo. Good actors.
The Nat Love Gang (he had a gang?) was in it too.
But the good part was black America was portrayed. However fictitious it may have been.
I give this film two snaps up.

David Crosby - Remember My Name, a documentary about the Byrds / CSN / CSN & Y singer / songwriter was on early Monday morning, so I decided to fire up the DVR for later viewing.
A poignant and sometimes brutal interview with clips throughout the years and performances with all three bands as well as his latest solo project.
The stories were sometimes funny but more often sad due to his estrangement with every single musician he ever played with.
He was also completely honest that their hatred was due to his addictions as well as his complete disregard for them as well as him being pretty much a total asshole.
At the time this was filmed (2015), in Graham Nash’s late interview he advised he hadn’t spoken to Crosby for over two years, after talking to him nearly every day the previous 45.
I did see that they were reaching out to each other just prior to his death earlier this year.
But none of them, nor Roger McGuinn or other Byrds members attended his funeral.
I’ve been in a few bands myself and know first hand how ugly things can get when egos start clashing and it’s usually limited to a power struggle between the two Alphas.
But with CSN & Y, there were FOUR - all writing and wanting THEIR songs on each album and THEIR songs on live concert set lists.
Things get said and some are unforgivable. Crosby owned up to being responsible for most of them.
A lot of great songs and clips throughout the years, including Woodstock, where they weren’t even supposed to play and had only been a band for a few weeks.
At 72, he could still sing with the best of them and in late interviews was asked how he was still alive. He had eight stents in his heart and suffered from diabetes, but he had no answer as to how he was still upright (much like Ozzy!).
Pretty good doc.

Death Wish, the remake with Bruce Willis was on USA last night so I gave it a look, figuring it’d be edited and hacked up pretty much for network television.
I’m not sure if it was just this one or what the case was - but it was left fully in tact with all the dirty words and gore to boot.
And being directed by Eli Roth, the gore was a bit over the top and FAR more violent than the original with Charles Bronson.
The premise was the same. Willis is a successful doctor at a local hospital with a trophy wife (the always tasty Elizabeth Shue) and just starting college daughter.
Technology allowed for minor changes, such as the bad guys get Willis’ home address via a parking valet who finds it stored within the BMW sedan he retrieves for Willis.
A home invasion leads to Ms. Shoe’s character demise and the daughter in a coma. I believe both were raped and killed in the original.
Willis begins his crusade as a “defender of the people” and thwarts a car jacking by killing the two baddies.
The two cops assigned to his case are dragging their feet with hundreds of other open cases on their docket.
He then finds the valet in his emergency room shot multiple times and steals his cell phone to track the thugs that killed his wife.
As expected, he eventually tracks all three down and they all meet their maker via fairly gruesome means.
Not the greatest of Bruce’s works, but certainly not the worst of those made before his current sickness that has forced him into retirement.
