Guardians of the Galaxy just went off. The original. I love this movie. The music.

Butch is one of my three stranded on an island flicks. I’ve probably seen it 20 + times from start to finish and another 50 + partial viewings. I pretty much can quote it line for line. I’ve seen bits and pieces of most of the others, but could never get through 2001. Matthau and Lemmon were classic in The Fortune Cookie. I had to go back and watch The Hustler after seeing the sequel (The Colour of Money) with Tom Cruise when it came out. Has Newman ever made a bad movie? GO DODGERS!!! Newman was like Denzel Washington in that way. You have to look really hard to find a bad movie. Their acting styles are similar too. They never overact. Perfect comparison. GO DODGERS!!!

Woke up during 'Nine Days.' This black guy was kidnapping people & putting them through tests to prove their worthiness to survive. He would have them watch news clips. Ask for their reactions. Then he would grade them. He had an Asian partner, who was sort of on board. Sort of not. He had a final duo of a white guy & a mixed woman.
It was interesting getting a black man's take on the world.

Anyone here into the classics, old movies? This is in my top 3! My wife LOVES the classics, but I’m more into anything after the 70’s. I’ve actually never seen a single minute of Casablanca, Gone With The Wind or Citizen Kane, all considered classic “must sees”. GO DODGERS!!! I enjoyed Casablanca, Gone With the Wind was no big deal and never saw Citizen Cane. I do like Dick Tracy movies, the Marx Brothers movies and just about any movie with the Duke.

Any Bogart flick was good.

Seeing how Billy Bob Thornton & Halle Berry treated their sons is appalling. They found redemption in each other.

This movie is more nuanced than I thought. Peter Boyle is an asshole. Billy Bob Thornton had to overcome his upbringing.

I saw a flick with her not too long ago where she played a schizophrenic with multiple personalities. I didn’t see all of it or can even remember its name, but what I saw was pretty good and she was excellent in the role. One of her personalities was a redneck, bigoted old southern white man. GO DODGERS!!!

Johnny Dangerously just went off. I hadn't seen it in a long time. Michael Keaton as the wisecracking Jimmy Cagney Irish mobster stereotype. Joe Piscobo as his psychotic henchman. Funny movie.

Devil in a Blue Dress just went off. Denzel Washington, Jennifer Beals, Don Cheadle & Tom Sizemore. It's about two powerful men running for mayor of Los Angeles in the late 1940's. The skeletons in their respective closets. I love LA noir flicks. They showed how Central Ave. in Watts was once the Harlem of Los Angeles. Rich white people checking out the jazz clubs. Lights everywhere. Then I recognized the tall palm trees in Denzel's neighborhood. That's the Crenshaw District. They mentioned an office on 103rd & Western Ave. My old girlfriend lived a few blocks from there.
Excellent movie.

Been Watching The Italian Job a lot lately. The remake. Ed Norton always plays a good asshole.

I was thinking about what I had to leave my daughter & those old albums came to mind. I had maybe 150 of them. Santana, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Marvin Gaye, Credence Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Ohio Players, Al Green, Elton John, War, Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, Aerosmith. After I left my wife, I asked what happened to those albums. "What albums?" I dropped it right there.
I found a picture of my old cat Glory, sitting in front of the television. She was watching it. By the side of the TV were my old albums.
Damn.
