Finally caught Three Kings with Clooney, Wahlburg and Ice Cube last night. Pretty good flick about the recovery and return of millions in gold bars stolen by Saddam Hussein.
Some pretty funny lines to go along with the intense broken “cease fire” moments. Clooney was as snarky as ever.

Amistad is on right now. It's better than I remembered.
I read a book that included King Afonso of Kongo in it. Afonso was brought up by the Portuguese & taught Christianity. Such as it is. He was an alien to his own people. But he recognized what slavery was doing to his country. He wrote letters to the Pope & king of Portugal, pleading for help. Even the Vatican ignored him because of how lucrative the slave trade was. Adonso died in obscurity.

Moonfall with Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson and John Bradley (Samwell from Game of Thrones) looked promising, with the moon coming off it’s axis and hurdling toward earth.
With Roland Emmerich directing, I expected another blockbuster with the huge special effects of some of his previous works (Independence Day, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow).
What I saw was a poor attempt of the same story lines of Armageddon and Deep Impact, with stiff acting, horrible dialog and effects that looked like a teenager storyboarded and then input them on his Mac.
About the only interesting thing has to do with the moon itself, although SO absurd, it simply reinforced the flimsy plot of this yawner.
I read and agreed with whoever said that at least Catwoman was no longer Ms. Berry’s worst film.

“Bros” is getting snubbed by most of the people who pay to see movies and its stars are declaring it’s due primarily to heterosexual males and their homophobia.
I have not seen the movie, nor do I have ANY intention of doing so, even when it hits HBO / Max, Showtime or STARZ.
I’m not homophobic - I just don’t want to watch close to two hours of dudes making out. It’s as simple as that.
And from what I understand, I would think the LBGT, etc. community would find it objectionable as well.
After all, haven’t we been told for decades that homosexuality is something one is born with, and NOT something one can become?
This movie is about two “supposedly” hetero males who continue to strike out over and over with “the ladies” and decide to try “each other” from what I have read.
So, the question is - were they ALWAYS gay, or did they actually “change teams” as so eloquently put by Elaine & Jerry?
Either way - I don’t really care. But I don’t blame anyone straight or gay for blowing this one off - no pun intended.

I've never seen Brokeback Mountain because I know I won't like the storyline.
Dad walked out of Deliverance.
There's nothing wrong with avoiding war movies if you object to war on general principle. I don't object to homosexuality. Especially two hot bi chicks. I just don't want to watch two gay guys Frenching. Especially if I'm asked for money. No. Pay ME & maybe.

Exactamundo - especially the two hot chicks part. For some reason, I can watch that all day. But there’s nothing sexy about two dudes making out to me. I did watch Brokeback simply because of how the critics raved about it. I didn’t enjoy it, but it did include one of the sickest “jokes” I think I’ve ever heard. Funny, in a demented way, but still pretty sick and offensive. And while I, like most am opposed to principles of wars, some of the greatest movies ever made are war related. GO DODGERS!!! |

Can’t believe he was nailing her. But then again, he had quite a few hotties playing girlfriends on the show over its run. I wonder how many of them he hooked up with? Pretty much goes without saying that 90 - 95% of the babes on Two and a Half Men were part of Charlie Sheen’s harem. Dude probably has a roster comparable to Wilt the Stilt, if you believe his “conquest” tallies. GO DODGERS!!! |
