Lakers snap back & take game 2 by a score of 111-88. Anthony Davis had a bounce back performance. 31 points on 13-21 from the field (3-4) & 2-2 from the line. The Lakers as a whole shot only 10 free throws. The Trail Blazers shot just 16. Is this because of the pandemic? Or the amount of three pointers? A little from column A & column B?

Rockets turn attention to rested Lakers in Game 1
FLM Sep 03, 2020
James Harden believes the Houston Rockets can improve offensively. But Harden is as pleased as anyone that defense lifted him and the Rockets to the Western Conference semifinals, where they will encounter the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 on Friday in the NBA bubble near Orlando.
"Our shot-making ability is going to come, and when it comes, then it's going to be scary because our defense has been very, very solid," Harden told reporters.
The Rockets advanced to the second round on Harden's defensive gem in a 104-102 Game 7 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. They prevailed despite a subpar performance by Harden, who managed 17 points on 4-for-15 shooting from the floor and 1-for-9 shooting on 3-pointers. He also had nine assists.
But his block of a 3-point attempt by Oklahoma City's Luguentz Dort with 4.8 seconds left helped seal the win for Houston.
"I've been locked in, obviously, just all year long," Harden told the media following the victory. "Trying to be better on that side of the ball but tonight there was emphasis on it, so I came up with the big block to win the game. I just tried to be engaged in this as much as possible.
"Offensively, I had a rough shooting night, turned the ball over a little bit too much but I had to find a way to impact the game. I came up with a huge block to end the game."
Eric Gordon, who connected on 5 of 9 3-pointers, and Robert Covington scored 21 points apiece to lead the four-seeded Rockets, who shot 39.8 percent from the floor compared with 46.1 percent for the Thunder. Covington also grabbed 10 rebounds. Russell Westbrook collected 20 points and nine rebounds against his former team.
The Western Conference's top seed, the Lakers haven't played since Saturday, when they eliminated the Portland Trail Blazers in a 131-122 victory in Game 5 in their first-round series. Anthony Davis had 43 points and nine rebounds and LeBron James finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Lakers, who won four straight contests after dropping the opener.
Davis leads the Lakers in scoring at 29.3 points per game and is shooting 57.3 percent from the floor in the playoffs. He also averages 9.4 rebounds. James is putting up 27.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and a league-high 10.2 assists in the postseason.
Lakers guard Rajon Rondo, who underwent surgery to repair a broken right thumb in July, is expected to return for the series. His thumb has recovered, but back spasms kept him out of the Portland series.
Rondo, who was listed as questionable for Game 1, practiced this week and seemed ready to go.
"We're hopeful to have him in uniform and in the rotation on Friday," said Lakers coach Frank Vogel, according to the Los Angeles Times.
In their last meeting on Aug. 6 during the abbreviated regular season, the Rockets defeated the Lakers 113-97. Harden scored 39 points and recorded 12 assists and Ben McLemore added 20 points.
The Lakers played without James (sore groin). Westbrook (quad injury) and Gordon (ankle) also missed the contest.

Lakers drop the opener to Houston 112-97. Hopefully they're just being sporting.

So the Lakers won game 2 by a score of 117-109. They entered the half with a 16 point lead. Then they got outscored by 41-23 in the third quarter. They bounced back by outscoring the Rockets 27-17 in the fourth.
Houston is dangerous.
Lebron was Mr. Everything. 28 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists, 4 steals & 2 blocked shots. The only negative was 7 turnovers. The Lakers were +15 with him on the floor. -7 with Anthony Davis out there. The Lakers bench scored 41 points.

I thought LeBron and the NBA were going to shut down for the year if Trump didn’t resign. Bunch of millionaire hypocrites. Gotta love players making more money in a year than most of us will in a lifetime with balls big enough to wear shit like “Reparations” on the back of their jerseys. GO DODGERS!!!

Lakers won again. This time it was 112-102. They outscored Houston 30-20 in the fourth quarter. They take a 2-1 lead in the series.
LeBron had 36 points on 13-23 from the field (4-9) & 6-10 from the line. 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocked shots & just 2 turnovers this time. Davis had 26 points on 9-13 from the field (0-0. That's better) & 8-11 from the line. 15 rebounds & 6 assists. Kyle Kuzma provided 14 points off the bench. The big story was Rajon Rondo though. 21 points & 9 assists off the bench.
Harden & Westbrook came up big for the Rockets, but it wasn't enough.

Lakers won game 3 of their series versus Houston. It's now 2-1 Los Angeles. Final score was 110-100. Nice even numbers.
Lebron scored 16 points (7-17, 0-5), with 2-3 on free throws, 15 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals, +15 with him on the floor. Unibrow had 29 points (10-18, 0-2) 9-9 on free throws, 5 assists & 2 blocks. +7 with him on the court. The bench quartet did their usual contribution. 36 points on 14-28 (4-11), 4-4 from the line, 15 rebounds, 13 assists, 5 steals & 2 blocks. Caruso was the high man with 16 points.
Westbrook was a stud for the Rockets. 25 points on 8-16 shooting (3-8), & 6-9 from the charity stripe. The Lakers must have shut down the passing lanes because he only had 3 assists & 3 turnovers. James Harden had an awful game. He was the one talking the most shit before this series got underway. 21 points on 2-11 from the field (1-6). 16-20 from the line. That reinforces my belief the Lakers shut down Westbrook's passing lanes. Harden was forcing it. With Westbrook eliminated as their facilitator, Harden had 10 assists. 5 turnovers too.
The Lakers led 57-41 at the half. The two teams were dead even at 29 points each in the third quarter. Then the Rockers outscored the Lakers 30-24 in garbage time.

Lakers beat the Nuggets 126-114 in game one of the Western Conference Finals. Anthony Davis scored 37 points on 12-21 from the field (1-3) & 12-15 from the line. 10 rebounds & 4 assists. Lebron contributed 15 points on 6-11 from the field (0-2) & 3-4 from the charity stripe. 6 rebounds & 12 assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope contributed 18 points, & the bench (led by Howard & Kuzma chipped in with 48 points. The Lakers scored 70 points in the first half. Denver made the score look less like a blowout in garbage time.

The Lakers totally deserved to lose this game, but Anthony Davis nails a three pointer at the buzzer. 105-103 & up 2 games to none.

I would really love to see the Showtime Lakers play this version. The current team (& game) is undisciplined. Where's the movement without the ball? Where is an unstoppable skyhook? Where is Worthy spinning off defenders dumb enough to put their elbow in his back? Where is Magic Johnson running the break? These guys just run up & down the court & take off balance three pointers. Would you guys PLEASE run a play? No wonder 6'-3" guards like Russell Westbrook average a triple-double. With all these three pointers clanging off the rim, the rebounds must be pretty dang long.

Lakers lost last night's game to the Nuggets by a score of 114-106. Far as I'm concerned, that's two games in a row the Lakers have been outplayed. They trailed 93-75 at the end of three quarters. Then made it look respectable in garbage time. Denver kept Anthony Davis off the boards. Just 2 rebounds in 43 minutes. Nikola Jokic is abusing whoever we put on him.

Lakers defeat the Nuggets 117-107 & move on to the Finals. Denver did a pretty good job of keeping Anthony Davis off the boards. But at what cost? LeBron had 16 rebounds. The Lakers outrebounded the Nuggets by 43 to 36. The winning really started when they put Dwight Howard in the starting lineup. They need to keep doing that.

A true beat down of the Heat tonight. This one might be over quick. GO DODGERS!!! Pat Riley & the Lakers. Riley & LeBron. A lotta subplots here. So far the Heat aren't employing the same box Davis off the boards strategy the Nuggets used to such imperfection. 34, 9 & 5 for Unibrow. 3 blocked shots. James really ripped Miami a new one though. 25, 13 & 9. What really killed the Heat though is just 14 free throws. The Lakers took 27.
