Lakers beat the Celtics 114-112 in a barn burner at Staples Center & televised on ABC. Will these teams meet in the Finals again? Looking like it.
Bill Russell was in attendance & wore a Kobe jersey.

Guess LeBron wanted to show Zion Williamson who still ran the NBA. James had 40 points, 8 rebounds & 6 assists in a 118-109 victory over the Pelicans in LA. The kid acquitted himself quite well with 29, 6 & 3. I really hated to give up Brandon Ingram. He had 34, 7 & 4. But on our end, Anthony Davis had 21, 14, 3 & SIX blocked shots. Lonzo Ball had a pretty pedestrian 10, 8 & 8. It's finally dawning on me that Davis is a bit of a drama queen when it comes to alleged injuries. It may have been Shaq who intimated at that too. Anthony had one arm dangling like he had been shot after a block. Oh well. Don't pull that in the playoffs.
Lakers go to 44-12.

NBPA's Roberts: Players 'really want to play'
After gauging interest in a return to action through team-by-team calls with players, NBPA executive director Michele Roberts says the "overwhelming" sentiment has been that players want the 2019-20 season to return.
Roberts spoke with ESPN's Ramona Shelburne about the calls, which she plans to conduct with all 30 teams in order to provide details to the players -- and respond to their feedback -- about the NBA's plans for a return to action.
"It's time. It's time," Roberts told ESPN. "It's been two and a half months of, 'What if?' My players need some level of certainty. I think everybody does."

The Lakers lose game one of the first round playoff series to the Trail Blazers by just closing really badly. Missed free throws & open jumpers. 100-93. LeBron had 23, 17 & 15 on 9-20 from the field (1-5 on threes) & 4-7 from the line. Davis had 28 & 11 on 8-24 (0-5) & 12-17. Pope went 0-9 from the field. As a team the Lakers went 5-32 on three pointers. I just can't express enough my disdain for what the three pointer has become. Work for the best SHOT! Not the easiest shot. Shit!
No one could contain Damian Lillard either.
