Greinke notches 2,500th strikeout
Zack Greinke became the 37th pitcher in baseball history to record 2,500 or more strikeouts on Tuesday night against the Padres. Here's a look at the historic punchout:

Greinke is the third pitcher this season to eclipse the 2,500 strikeout mark, joining Felix Hernandez and Max Scherzer. CC Sabathia, meanwhile, topped 3,000.

Rangers' Willie Calhoun: Lands on injured list 2D ago • By RotoWire Staff Calhoun was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left quad strain Wednesday. Calhoun underwent an MRI on Wednesday which evidently revealed an injury serious enough for him to miss at least 10 games. He went 10-for-23 at the plate with a pair of homers prior to suffering the injury. Delino Deshields was recalled in a corresponding move. www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=calhowi01&t=b&year=2019He was hitting before that happened.

Yasiel has actually been on fire lately. Maybe this is the point where he earns a five year $100,000,000 extension by playing hard the last four months of the season. He hit .287 / .340 / .950 in June. Really, he was hitting .207 as late as June 9th, so maybe I shouldn't include all of June. He's gone 32-82 / .390-9-18 / .440 / .805 in the 22 games since then. 4 out of 5 on stolen base attempts. He's even turned around that odd reverse split thing he had going with Turner Ward. For the season he's batting .256-15-39 / .299 / .496 against righties. He's hitting .257-5-12 / .321 / .486 in 173 fewer plate appearances against southpaws.
Here's hoping the Reds give him whatever he wants, & that Puig finally pays back the Cartel the money he owes. That way he doesn't have to fake break-ins to commit insurance fraud so he has under the table money the Cartel can't reach.

Saw him get a hit and steal 2nd last week, then tried to go to third on a sharp grounder to short. He was out by 30 feet. Killed a rally. But he can do no wrong here in Cincy. Everybody LOVES him. I don’t know if the Reds have the kind of cash cow he’ll be looking for, but I’m guessing SOMEONE will. Just hope they know not to expect “full effort” from him until the last year of that contract. What a dousche! GO DODGERS!!!

Wouldn't it be great if the Cardinals got him? Would love to see Molina protecting him in the press.

The one and only original DDF gets a two year extension with the Marlins, making him the longest tenured manager in their team history with a 272 - 364 record.
I guess mediocrity in Miami goes beyond the NFL.

I really thought Jeter would make him the scapegoat. Must be that Yankee connection.

I really thought Jeter would make him the scapegoat. Must be that Yankee connection. It’d be like firing his dad! Nearly 100 games under .500 and he gets another two years. Amazing! Granted, he hasn’t had a whole lot to work with. But still . . . GO DODGERS!!!

So the Mads are going all-in with Snell & Darvish? Should we be concerned? Not IMHO.
Yu had a career, while shortened year, but the bulk of his games were against pretty lousy teams like the Reds and Pirates. The Cardinals weren’t exactly blowing anyone’s doors off, either.
Let’s see what that record and ERA look like against the rest of the NL next year and beyond.
The Snell signing was big, but I like our starting five (or six or seven) against anyone’s and I’m looking forward to the first repeat in decades.
GO DODGERS!!!

Here are the performances of the guys that we lost this past off season:
Joc is hitting a robust .108 with one homerun and 4 rbi.
Kike is hitting a health .216 with one homerun and 4 rbi.
Stripling is currently 0-1 with a 7.56 ERA. I sure hope he does better.
Wood is hurt and has yet to make a start
Baez is hurt and has yet to make a start
