I like the ones that have moveable parts like doors, hoods, trunks, etc. Most of my 1:24 NASCAR collection has hoods and trunks that I have purposely opened in their displays. The Elite models, which I have over 50 of also have roof flaps that I have in their “up” positions. I only have a couple 1:18 scale cars. A Tony Stewart Home Depot Rookie Car (hood, trunk & roof flaps) and a Jeff Gordon replica of a full sized street legal Monte Carlo you could actually order and purchase from Chevrolet. It’s blue with ghost flames and both doors open. My wife is / was a big Gordon fan and has her own case of 20 1:24 scales of some of his rarest diecast, including one that is plated in 24k gold. GO DODGERS!!!

I got a cherry red 1969 Corvette yesterday. It was used. On Ebay. I've yet to see a flaw in it.
But of course, I'm using the eyes that hack worked on.
I have to call that schmuck tomorrow. I have an appointment coming up & can't remember when. He always sends one of his assistants out first. To examine me. There will be no comment until the doctor arrives. Then I'll ask if he used the same lens in both eyes. They didn't have the same problem. One was farsighted. The other was nearsighted. Why am I seeing so much better with the right eye? That one was worse. The left eye was the one lasered. I paid $2,000.00 for that.
I'll give him every chance to make this right. It isn't my intention to piss him off. Let's see if he stands behind his work. I suppose he could prescribe bifocals. And give me my $2,000.00 back. Or he can put the correct lens in my left eye. I don't want a pissed off surgeon holding a knife to my eye. But they discovered with the first visit, I can be one cantankerous son of a bitch when things don't go as promised. That was with the insurance carrier's transportation. Not the medical staff. But they saw a man go berserk. What I'm capable of.

That was with the insurance carrier's transportation. Not the medical staff. But they saw a man go berserk. What I'm capable of. Went in Friday for my usual six month checkup. All was good; PSA holding at .04 (it had gone up a few points from .01 to .02 and then current, but seems to have leveled out). Knee brace is off and I’ve got a bunch of at home rehab exercises I’m supposed to be doing, but with the broken ribs, most of them are impossible. Now my doc wants me to see an optometrist annually. Said I should have them checked due to my pre-diabetes. I’m not having any sight issues and am still 20/10 since they were lasered several years ago. Sounds like just another out of pocket expense to me - probably one of his buddies who needs some more / new clients. I’ll get to it when I get to it, if at all. To make matters worse, I re-aggravated the ribs at a Mr. Big concert Friday night scrambling for a drumstick their drummer tossed to me. I got the stick, but the ribs paid the price. GO DODGERS!!!

Where's my 67 Shelby Mustang? I missed that one.
I always thought it was a little sad when I'd seem a 50-something year old driving a brand new Corvette. Like you wanted it then. You can afford it now. But the McLaren & Viper I'm considering are 1990's models. I would have been in my 30's.

Last time we were in LA for the ‘18 World Series, there were two McLarens parked at the hotel where we stayed. They must have been high rollers or celebrities because they were always parked in the same spots so they were readily available and didn’t have to wait for valets to retrieve, Both were VERY sweet - beautiful lines, lots of carbon fiber. One was a silvery orange, the other plain jane gun metal gray. A half a block away were people living in boxes. GO DODGERS!!!

Yep - I’ve got around 50 of them. Back when we were really into NASCAR, I belonged to RCCA (Racing Car Club of America). Every month I’d get a catalog with the latest diecast models for all of the drivers. The most popular ones usually had two or three versions of their available cars. The “Elite” models were top of the line with heavy details like operating roof flaps, nylon window nets, hinged trunks and hoods, etc. Most of them were a couple hundred bucks and they came in special packaging, including cloth bags and were numbered and limited to usually 100 or fewer units. My wife was big time into Jeff Gordon; I liked Rusty Wallace and then Tony Stewart after Rusty retired. When a new model or paint scheme came out for any of these three, I was on the phone ordering the day they were released. I even have a couple that were near triple that (a Jeff Gordon 24k gold plated model and a Tony Stewart 24k white gold plated model). I used to get a monthly magazine and track their values on my computer, but after awhile I just got burned out on doing it. I think I have close to 100 1:24 scales, about half of which are Elites. I also have a few 1:64, one Tony Stewart 1:43 and two 1:18. All but one are in mirrored cases. I’d figure I’ve got around ten large in the collection. Just another one of my obsessive extravagant excesses. GO DODGERS!!!

The blade is less than three inches. Still pretty cool. Bought a VERY sweet blade the last time we went down to Gatlinburg, TN. There’s a knife shop in Sevierville, which is a little east and is supposedly the largest in the country. And I don’t think they’re lying. The place is MASSIVE with several floors of merchandise and around the size of a typical Home Depot. I had heard of some brand names to look for (Colt, Case, etc.) and I had a $50 gift card I had gotten for my birthday, thinking that might get me something decent. I could not have been more wrong. Not a Colt or Case I liked under $125. And they had thousands of each. I finally decided on a Baretta than cost me another $30 on top of the gift card. Very nice oak or maple (I don’t know my woods very well) body with brass ends and a 4 1/2” stainless steel blade that I could shave with. They had more than a few knives that were two to four LARGE. I didn’t even think about asking how much some of their samurai swords were. Found a very nice leather pouch with a snap closure in town for another $20. I’ve been needing something like that in my toolbox for awhile now. The knife I previously had was an old plastic piece of crap that I got from one of those crane machines at the annual carnival that used to come to my village when I was a kid. Guess those crane machines and carnivals went the way of the stagecoach and pony express. But that was one sweet week in our little town. They’d throw those rides together the same day they pulled into town and we wouldn’t give a second thought to how dangerous they might have been. Tickets were 10 and later 4 for a buck. Most of the games of chance were a quarter. Winning your girl a big old stuffed bear never cost more than a buck or so. Mr. Softee ice cream truck would run from Memorial to Labor Day offering soft serve cones, sundaes, banana splits, ice cream sandwiches, malts & milk shakes. Most items were less than a buck. Damn, I’m old!!! GO DODGERS!!!
