C'mon guys. We lost an All-Star shortstop. We replaced him with an All-Star shortstop. The purported centerpiece in our trade proposal is a studly young hitter who's a hack in the field. Seems like a perfect storm to me.

There’s a snag in the deal apparently. Something the Orioles don’t like about the prospects physicals. Opens the door for other teams they say to make a deal. Dodgers not a for sure trade anymore. Who’d have guessed it, lol...

the medical holdup in the Machado trade isn't over top OF prospect Yusniel Diaz, the key prospect in the trade and one real name that's out there & confirmed. since it's apparently over a complementary piece (at least compared to Diaz), the chances to work it out are much better.

My sources confirm @stevephillipsgm original report that hold up on Manny Machado trade is over a medical for one of the players I reported last night. (Not Diaz). Teams could pivot to another player previously discussed, or O’s could try and squeeze more out of #Dodgers

If Dodgers plan is to use this as a rental, then whoever they offered they shouldn't give in. O's just trying to get more & I wouldn't pudge, I already think it's enough or too much for a rental. Now if they want him to complete an excellent INF, I would only change if I planned on re-signing him. If so, they gotta move a few guys around which is no problem, but what about pitching if ur going for it. Current starters can only go 5-6 innings so gotta get 2 more relievers so Kenley doesn't have to pitch 4-5 outs. Need a for sure setup man & keep it one guy per inning 7-8-9!!!
Our once top-rated farm system isn't producing time to trade away top 10 or so for guys like Britton, Hand, etc...

Lots of options with him and Seager coming back next year. As for arms if Diaz, May, Robinson, and a couple of more go. Then the club would have kept all it's top prospects. It's two more weeks until the deadline and I am sure they have a plan already in regards to either a starter or reliever(s). Plus Maeda was great in the playoff pen and I would put Hill or Wood or both in it too if another starter is acquired (deGrom  ) or if Ryu pitches as he was he when he hit the DL. All is good. Just have to land Machado first from a tough O's organization. |
