Looks like the Yankees (like they need another bat) are making a strong push to get Machado. Heard last night that the Yankees would be his preferred location next offseason when he’s a free agent. Yankees looking to be the Golden State of baseball... Hell with that then.

Looks like Machado is gonna be traded to the Phillies now. Time to move on from this. Guess we try for some bullpen help now via trades and hope our offense is enough as it stands now...

Looks like Machado is gonna be traded to the Phillies now. Time to move on from this. Guess we try for some bullpen help now via trades and hope our offense is enough as it stands now... What's your source? Do you have anything more recent than this? Latest On Manny Machado By Steve Adams | July 16, 2018 at 3:55pm CDT The Orioles are getting “very close” to reaching an agreement on a Manny Machado trade, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com (via Twitter). However, despite a report of a “handshake agreement” between the Orioles and Phillies by Barstool Sports, Kubatko adds that there’s no deal between the two teams in place. To the contrary, Kubatko notes that both the Brewers and the Dodgers remain involved in the Machado market. Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com agrees, tweeting that “numerous” sources tell her that rumors regarding an agreement with the Phillies are “untrue.” To be sure, it’d be strange for any club, especially one in the Orioles’ position, to effectively close off bidding 36 hours in advance of completing a trade when a better offer could come floating in at any time. An arrangement of that nature would come with little in the form of precedent. The inevitable Machado trade will be a franchise-altering moment for the Orioles, and cutting off negotiations this far in advance would be a downright bizarre means of going about it. By agreeing to a delayed agreement, they’d leave no room for the Dodgers, Brewers or any other club — the Yankees, D-backs, Braves, Indians and others have been involved to varying extents — to top whatever is currently being offered by the Phillies. That said, it’s true that the league generally frowns on news of this magnitude breaking during All-Star festivities. It’s certainly possible that both sides are optimistic about something coming together shortly after the All-Star Game, and none of this is to say that the Phils won’t ultimately come away as the “winners” of the Machado sweepstakes, so to speak. But for the time being, it’s only logical to assume that the bidding for Machado remains open as the the Orioles seek to extract the best possible package of young talent. Regardless of where Machado ultimately lands, the timeline depicted this lengthy saga may indeed reach its end shortly after the All-Star Game. Reports over the past week have indicated that the O’s are loath to trade Machado prior to the Midsummer Classic, where he’ll represent them in Washington D.C. as the American League’s starting shortstop. Jim Bowden of The Athletic took matters a bit further this morning, tweeting that Machado is “expected to be traded” after Tuesday’s All-Star Game and before the regular season resumes play on Friday. As one can imagine, the rumor cycle is beginning to wear on even Machado himself. Speaking to reporters during the media hour for today’s events, Machado said that if he is ultimately going to be traded, he “100 percent” hopes it is over with sooner rather than later (Twitter link via The Athletic’s Jayson Stark). “To not answer these questions anymore, that would be good,” said Machado. The infielder also once again acknowledged that he has “no say” in where he plays following a trade (Twitter link via Fancred’s Jon Heyman), but his preference in free agency will be to pursue opportunities where he’s able to play shortstop (Twitter link via Ghiroli).

It doesn't make sense at all but then again the O's are dumb. They should have traded him already because of injury risk. They better hope he doesn't get hurt tomorrow night, lol. I agree with Bowden in that the O's wouldn't trade him before the AS game, which is dumb, but they should be very motivated to move him after the game due to the injury risk.

Breaking; The Dodgers appear to be the leading contender for superstar Manny Machado as talks head toward the finish line. The situation is fluid and brewers and phillies may still have an outside chance. Barring turnabout, deal should be done this week. Story comin on @fancred

Top dodgers OF prospect Yusniel Diaz could be in play in potential Machado deal. Hit 2 bombs in futures game. If so, that may be hard to beat. As said, Dodgers lead as they head toward finish line.

Interesting. I read just this morning that the Phillies were the favorite because they were willing to include pitching prospect Adonis Medina, their #2 prospect.
These guys are all over the place with these rumors.

Philadelphia is the most likely destination for Manny Machado, now that the Phillies have indicated a willingness to include pitching prospect Adonis Medina in their latest offer, one source told MLB.com.
Machado could join the Phillies later this week, unless the Brewers or Dodgers respond with a compelling counteroffer. The Orioles have made it clear to other teams that they want to wait until Machado represents the franchise in Tuesday's All-Star Game presented by Mastercard before finalizing a trade agreement.
MLB Network insider Jon Heyman first reported Monday for Fancred Sports that a trade of Machado was "very close."
Medina is Philadelphia's No. 2 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and No. 73 on the Top 100 list. Thus far, Philadelphia has resisted Baltimore's request to part with No. 1 prospect Sixto Sanchez.

Jon Heyman ✔ @jonheyman
If Dodgers complete Machado deal (and they lead), they could move Taylor to 2B, Muncy to 1B and Bellinger to the stacked OF. That’d be quite a lineup. Also, if top OF prospect Yusniel Diaz is in deal, their rep as stingy with prospects goes out the window. 11:37 AM - Jul 17, 2018

Things are constantly changing probably because teams keep offering a little more. Hope the Dodgers end up with him and acquire an arm with two weeks left until the deadline.

Maybe partially true. I think most of this stuff is just media hype, guys trying so hard to be the first ones who are right. They are usually wrong with this kind of stuff.

Manny Machado trade nears finish line with Dodgers in lead
By Ethan Sears
July 17, 2018 | 1:18pm
The Dodgers appear to have won the Manny Machado sweepstakes. Though exactly how iron-clad their victory is seems unclear.
If nothing else, it seems to be at the finish line. ESPN reports the Orioles have a deal is in place, though specific aspects are still being worked on, while USA Today says a deal with Los Angeles is essentially done.
MLB Network reported the Dodgers’ fourth-best prospect, outfielder Yusniel Diaz, is in the Dodgers’ offer.
Tuesday’s All-Star Game is likely Machado’s last appearance in a Baltimore uniform. The holdup for a deal may be that MLB prefers the attention focused on the All-Star Game.
The Brewers and Phillies both seemed to be in the running this morning, but evidently didn’t offer as much as the Dodgers.
The Yankees were also suitors at one point, but The Post’s Joel Sherman reported they weren’t willing to include high-end prospects such as Clint Frazier or Justus Sheffield in a deal, essentially removing them from the bidding.

Sources confirm that #Dodgers will trade for #Orioles slugger Manny Machado. Don’t know who is involved in the deal but it appears he’s coming to LA
