Btw - Schiff made a very good point about Trump's tweeting amounting to witness intimidation. Something they will take very seriously.

GOP couldn't rattle Yovanovitch. Ironically their effort was probably sabotaged by Trump himself. He just can't stop tweeting. Zero impulse control. Scary personality trait for someone with his finger on the button.
Instead they had to go on & on about John Kerry in 2004, & the Obama administration. Maybe you should have raised those concerns at the time.

Even Jim Jordan fell silent about the tweets & Trump's smear campaign. Lee Zeldin of Trump's home state of New York had to step in.

David Holmes is nailing Trump to the cross in semi-private testimony right now. He made it clear Trump had ZERO interest in investigating corruption in Ukraine. He only wanted an investigation of the Bidens.
If news agencies have access to this material it isn't a Soviet style purge after all.

I see there's a special about Nixon upcoming. That can't be coincidental. There are some major differences, IMHO.
Traits they share in common...
1 - Paranoid. 2 - Vindictive. 3 - Self-absorbed.
Differences...
1 - Nixon was highly qualified. He might have been the best qualified foreign policy expert ever in the Oval Office. He was the most active Vice President in history. He would have been President in 1960 if the election hadn't been stolen from him.
2 - As much as Trump bragged about being outside the Washington establishment, he also bragged about owning politicians during the 2016 election. How does that put him outside the establishment if those politicians he disdained were doing his bidding? That actually makes him the man behind the man. The very epitome of establishment.
3 - Even Nixon knew when to withdraw. Trump takes to Twitter to make his point(less). He's dangerous to the Constitution. He recognizes no rights beyond his own. Right now he has the right to free speech, just like everyone else. Okay. Then House Democrats have the right to call you a crook. You have the right to have lap dogs defend you. What's the problem? You enjoy slinging mud. Afraid to have some splash back on you? Apparently you didn't buy the right politicians.
All in all, makes for great entertainment from the former reality TV star. This one goes without a vague script though.

I miss the dialogues with Dodgerwood. He tried to rile me up with insults about my family. Tessa became my "fat, retarded mulatto." HA-HA-HA-HA!! Like some troll could influence my opinion of my own family. Funny shit. She was not only a beauty queen, she graduated with an MBA on an ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP from a major university.
I punished him for his racist remarks by pretending to be offended. That put him on the defensive with...EVERYONE. I later met with someone I strongly suspect was DW. I brought my daughter along. He was duly impressed.
Utah cracked me up with his hollow threats against my safety. I have never refused to meet with anyone, so long as their invitation made sense. The only person I ever threatened was DW. He was throwing empty insults against someone 1,500 miles away. I told him I live in the Basin. Literally 20 minutes away from you. He abstained because he was afraid of my neighborhood. Hawthorne is better than Inglewood. I lived there from 1987-92.
Those were some funny times.

Dodgerwood would go on long monologues to explain himself and just plain talked too much, whether or not you agreed with him. He loved to argue and it didn't even matter what side of the issue you were on, I think he'd just pick a side. "I am an agnostic with atheist tendencies"... I still can't figure that one out.

GOP strategy for today is obvious. Keep interrupting to make Schiff appear unreasonable when he dismisses their unsanctioned remarks. Make it look like Trump is being railroaded. Trump's concern is once again highlighted by the president's desperate tweeting. He's doing exactly what Yovanovitch was warned he would do; Trump is smearing her. Donald is his own worst enemy. Expect Republicans to attack Yovanovitch's credibility when it resumes. It's been all too predictable: "a whistle blower came forward", and as if on cue, "a second whistle blower came forward" two weeks later, which always seems to be the case. After the Mueller report was put to rest, we're all wondering what'll be next? After this nonsense is put to rest, what'll be next? Remember Stormy Daniels was proven to be a liar? Dems just can't accept that Hillary lost, she beat herself. Trump is bound to beat himself with his big mouth. Watch this, on a youtube channel I follow: And this, which pretty much sums up this whole farce:

He abstained because he was afraid of my neighborhood. Hawthorne is better than Inglewood. I lived there from 1987-92. Those were some funny times. I remember his “prediction master” bravado and how proud he seemed to be of himself in picking NFL against the spreads AFTER the games were over. He & Dog used to go at it pretty good sometimes with DW usually looking foolish in the end. His best came out during the Romney / Obama debates when he declared Mitt the winner and next President. He even went so far as to taunt several posters that called him nuts, saying Mitt handed Barack his ass after that first debate and would win by a substantial margin. Included in that little tidbit was the fact that he had NEVER been wrong on a Presidential election as long as he had been alive. As results started to pour he, he changed his stance and denied EVER picking Romney. Once when we were having an unusually civil discussion about bikes, I said something about wanting to ride the PCH up the coast and he jumped in with how “overrated” and “unpicturesque” it was / is. I’ve driven or rode in a car on it a number of times when out that way and the parts I’ve been on in and around LA and Malibu were every bit as beautiful as I had seen and expected. Different strokes, I guess. GO DODGERS!!!

Or how about our old friend Lee J Meyers? What a nut job that dude was. EVERYBODY hated him. He was such an egotistical blow hard and if it wasn’t about HIM, then he wasn’t interested.
From his phony time in the service (which for awhile DW defended, even going so far as to say he met the man) to his unprecedented career with the OC Register’s Letters to the Editor.
And he didn’t have a PC bone in his body. I remember one thread having something to do with visiting certain restaurants and his normal stereotypical use of how their employees should have stuck to “picking cotton and eating watermelons”.
When I called him out on it and how offensive it was, he’d just gloss over it like it was acceptable dialog on a public baseball message board.
It was hysterical when he got banned from the Angels board, who he was overly devoted to. Then he tried to hone in on the REAL LA board, only to be rejected and booted off of it.
His next stop was the Rangers, but he didn’t last more than a few days there. I think in the end he was permanently banned from ALL of the boards.
The complaint he filed against the Angels on “Complaints.com” was legendary. Guess he’s still insulting away somewhere in the afterlife.
GO DODGERS!!!

Lee would stir up a hornet's nest in the morning, go bowling in the afternoon, Dwoo would defend Lee's right to free speech, Lee would come back in the early evening, thank everyone for participating in his lovely thread, take time out to hurl an insult or two at me, then Benny would burn his thread to the ground. It happened every single day.
My favorite was when he threatened to run me over in the parking lot of the Big A.

Someone I knew tracked Lee down. Told me what his condo looked like. That he had a tattered American flag out front. I asked Lee when he was going to replace that old flag. That sent a shiver up his spine. I had never seen him at a loss for words before.
