"If it was only about service time Bellinger would have been called up a couple weeks earlier; players only have to be kept in the minors for 13-14 days to get that extra year."
Without knowing CB'S contract and the CBA, I myself was assuming that team control was what was decided.

I was and still am bornbrooklyn1954 😊 I started on mlb in 2013, I still remember a post you made I believe it was you Alan about having diabetes and losing a lot of weight and beat your diabetes. I never forgot that post and I’m almost sure you wrote it, I have also lost a lot of weight and have my diabetic numbers under control. It’s a ongoing battle but I finally have it under control. If that wasn’t you Alan who wrote the post sorry about that but I always thought it was you, glad to see you here 👍

If that wasn’t you Alan who wrote the post sorry about that but I always thought it was you, glad to see you here 👍 It was me. I'm going on seven years now since my diagnosis and I am still controlling my diabetes without medication by eating correctly and keeping myself in good shape. I had allowed myself to slip a little over the last year, wasn't watching as closely what I ate and had gained back about 15 pounds and my numbers had risen. Nowhere near the dangerously high levels I was, but still not where I was happy. Since January I have recommitted myself and have dropped again to a little under 180 pounds by eating a little better and getting back to my cycling and my numbers have dropped as well. I'm happy to say my fasting numbers now live in the 90's once again. I'll have my next A1C test in the next month or two. I'm working to get that back around (or even under) 6.0. Glad to hear you have gotten your diabetes under control as well. Too many don't take it seriously and I always cringe at those who are diagnosed and figuratively shrug their shoulders and continue to live in their same destructive manner. Eat right, exercise routinely, use the medications if needed, but take it seriously! This disease can be controlled. Keep it up bb!

Without knowing CB'S contract and the CBA, I myself was assuming that team control was what was decided. I’m sure it was A factor, among many factors, but to act like it was a Kris Bryant or an Acuna situation is ridiculous. Acuna had 221 ABs at AAA last year with a .940 OPS, Bryant had 244 ABs with an OPS over 1.000 the year before he was called up. Bellinger on the other hand, put up an .843 OPS at AA in 2016. Is that good? Of course. But good enough for a team to bring him up with out at least seeing if he could have sustained success for a month at AAA? No.

Good job Alan, just 8 weeks ago I started on a whole plant based diet and in 8 weeks dropped 26 pounds 😊 My VA doctor checked my A1C in December and it was 7.5, he checked it again two weeks ago and was shocked it read 6.8 😊
He says Raymo, tell me about that diet again, I told him I’m not on a diet I just changed what I am eating. I eat a lot of beans, salads, lots of steamed veggies, oatmeal, avocados, lots of fruits, oats and nuts. It’s working and I’m never hungry, I even cheat every now and then but the pounds are dropping and the numbers coming down fast. For the first time of having diabetes I’m getting many numbers below 100, and a few even in the 60’s. I’m averaging around 118 to 125 the last 30 days.
Feeling better now and I just decided to do something about it, doc took me off of two pills so I’m down to just Metformin now. Watched a video on YouTube from a Doctor Kim and Whole plant based diet and decided to try it and it’s working. Good luck Alan and keep up the great numbers 👍

Taylor tore the cover off the ball in spring training last year. I was chirping about him being sent down and claiming he was going to break out, and I'm no scout, but even I could see it. The Belly thing was to keep the clock from starting (as far as I know), and once April passed, he immediately came up. So, I understood the move. Keeping turds like Gutierrez, Van Slyke, and Font around simply because they are out of options doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. If they couldn't trade them, then just trim the fat and move on. The Dodgers got off to a slow start last season and IMO it is simply because they had the wrong guys on the roster. As soon as Taylor and Belly came up, we started winning, it's as simple as that. Realistically, it's a long season and I know the Dodgers will most likely be in the playoffs, but I want to try and win as many games as possible in April, because you never know. And you don't win with guys like Font in your bullpen, IMO, so why keep him? Toles should be on this team now, he earned it! But I digress...... If it was only about service time Bellinger would have been called up a couple weeks earlier; players only have to be kept in the minors for 13-14 days to get that extra year. Taylor had a great spring training, a year after posting an OPS under 700. If you had a feeling he was going to blossom in to the player he became, good for you. It’s amazing that this front office puts out nothing but excellent teams, and some people still complain about dumb things like this. Wow, so this board is exactly like the other? I didn't realize I was being "dumb". Sorry for having an opinion.

It doesn't take much if you're just willing to make healthy changes. I personally could not go on a plant based diet like you; beans and veggies don't do it for me. But that's the point. I have a different diet than you, one based on proteins and involving a lot of meats, but it works for me. There are many different ways to change a diet and eat healthy, you just have to find what works for you. Keep at it bb. If you're able, keep losing. Studies say every ten pounds or so effects a significant reduction in diabetes. And when your ready, get out an exercise. It doesn't have to be Ninja Warrior level, it just has to get you active. A pound of muscle burns three times the energy that a pound of fat does and burning energy (calories) is a diabetics best friend!

Look man, calling something I said dumb, or calling me dumb is basically the same thing. I came to this board to avoid that kind of nonsense. I had an opinion, you could disagree, but there is no need to get personal. I don't get personal with people I disagree with. And for the record, I don't think being concerned about roster moves is a "dumb" thing. I worry that the Dodgers are going to come out of the gates slowly because they have the wrong guys on the roster. It's just an opinion.
