"Nothing is ever the same. Even with the almost-same roster, the players are older,"
A year older.

16.7% of the full-year data points show that this is not a fluke. This is a trend and will remain a trend unless things change.
________
Like last year?
A season is 162 games. Not 27. If you've given up then that's your right. It's also everyone else's right to think you're being premature. And that is based on history. This happens every single year in this sport. Not just to our team..

A couple wins in a row should get jeremy back into hibernation... The news tonight about Seager makes the offseason even more inexcusable. They knew he had an elbow injury that could require TJ. We heard rumors about that in the offseason and in spring training. They didn't even bring in a competent backup capable of playing every day. As I said the guys in the lineup will hit and now we know why Corey didn't hit up to his usual standards. The arms of the pitching staff dealing with reduced velocities that the front office saw coming that is another issue that doesn't figure to get better. Should have planned for that in the offseason since they saw it coming. Going to be very tough to turn things around when the pitching is not as good as it was last year. Read a report yesterday in the article I posted that the team doesn't plan on making any big additions at the trade deadline. Hopefully the report is inaccurate.

It’s hilarious how much you hate the front office. You realize Corey Seager controls his own body right? What a dumb post.

Actually your defense of the front office no matter what decision they make is proving to be the dumb opinion in this case. The front office knew his elbow was in bad shape. There were rumors about him potentially needing TJ during the summer and in spring training. This isn't something that came out of no where. They should have had a better backup plan than his elbow holds up or it doesn't and that is it.

I do not hate the front office. They have a boss. I don't hate the boss I just can not defend the situation they put themselves in this year despite claiming to expect it in regards to the pitching and knowing Seager's elbow was in bad shape. They claimed winning would always come first and Stan Kasten even said it came first this offseason. Clearly wasn't the case. Winning came second to cutting salary and not the other way around period.

Cutting salary from what? The highs they set?

"Winning came second to cutting salary and not the other way around period." Cutting salary from what? The highs they set? They sat out the offseason for all intensive purposes. They claimed the team was so good they didn't need to improve the team. Then they turned around and said they expected a drop in velocity from the teams key pitchers. They knew Seager's elbow could require TJ. It is early but things are not looking good. The pitching drop off is most concerning to me. Will be tough to overcome the loss of Seager but if the pitching was as good as last year I believe the team could still win the division. Kershaw's drop off and Woods regression are very concerning for the rotation and I can't get a read on Jansen's issues one way or the other.

"Winning came second to cutting salary and not the other way around period." Cutting salary from what? The highs they set? Let me rephrase that slightly. If they had cut salary but found a way to improve the roster I would have been very happy with the offseason. So what I meant to say is they failed to improve the roster this offseason.

Improve the team from what? A salary perspective?

What does Seager have to do with pitching?

Please.

Ahhh! New theory. Thanks. But it still has to do with imroving the roster from the all time high payroll they set.
