Drumroll please.
Matt Kemp & Yasmani Grandal. Very small sample size. Who woulda thunk it though?

Yeah, Kemp can still hit. He sure does lumber out there in the outfield though... wow.
We need some MOJO.

Good thing we didn’t just dump Grandal and annoint Barnes the full time starter.

Good thing we didn’t just dump Grandal and annoint Barnes the full time starter. Yup. A lot of people turned on Grandal. He's streaky.

Good thing we didn’t just dump Grandal and annoint Barnes the full time starter. "LA needs to trade Grandal and not worry about getting anything back and put Barnes and Farmer as the catchers. Those two will produce just as well as Grandal." The team evidently doesn't even think too much of Farmer's catching skills! Classic Jake knee-jerk over reaction. I don't want to pay Grandal what he'll probably get in free agency this coming winter, but I'm glad he's here this season.

I have to admit I was on the "dump Grandal" bandwagon; and I also have to admit I'm still not off it (though I've taken a step closer to the door). My view about Grandal: (1) He's streaky, which drives me crazy when he's in one his cold streaks, and (2) he seems to go into a cold streak when he's needed most (and conversely, a hot streak when he's needed least). If he gets past the streakiness, I'm off the bandwagon. Only time will tell. Nevertheless, congrats to both him and Kemp - pleasant surprises in an otherwise dismal start to the 2018 season...

I agree it's frustrating. No argument from me there. But even through all that, he's still an above average starting catcher in this league, all things considered. I do hope/wish he would get back to his old ways of working counts and drawing walks at a good rate. That's the kind of thing that doesn't slump. Even when hits weren't falling, at least he was still working counts and getting on base. Last year that fell away. ***If he gets past the streakiness, I'm off the bandwagon. Only time will tell.*** Good luck with that. He's probably always going to be a streaky hitter. ***Nevertheless, congrats to both him and Kemp - pleasant surprises in an otherwise dismal start to the 2018 season...*** Yes they have been. And yes, unfortunately, it has been...

I wasn’t on team dump Grandal because we just wouldn’t have gotten good value for him because his market would have been pretty small. Better off holding on to him and hoping we get some sort of draft compensation when he leaves. We just have too much catching depth to sign him long term.

Looking at this Side by side Grandal and Kemp really compare nicely with Cody up and coming on strong and Seager should be creeping in there soon Just too bad Turner is wedge in there somewhere...
