It was all FIXED!!! MLB wanted a large market East Coast / West Coast matchup where they could dominate the TV ratings & LA / NY was the perfect matchup for them. There’s simply NO OTHER explanation as to how a team with ZERO pitching could suddenly shut down a powerhouse lineup like the mighty Padres with a bunch of bullpen scrubs. This is pretty much EVERY Twitter / X post I saw last week after their gag job. Guess that parade’s gonna have to wait another year. FIRE DAISY & FRAUDY!!!

Dodgers' Alex Vesia: Facing hitters Rotowire 17 hrs ago Vesia (ribs) will throw against hitters Tuesday or Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Vesia has been dealing with a rib cage injury since his early departure from Game 5 of the NLDS, but he appears to be trending in the right direction. How he feels following his upcoming throwing session will likely determine whether he is included on the Dodgers' roster for the World Series -- a decision that is expected to be made as late as possible.
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Starting Game 2 of World Series Rotowire 18 hrs ago Yamamoto will start Saturday in Game 2 of the World Series versus the Yankees, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Yamamoto has allowed seven earned runs over just 12.1 innings across his three postseason appearances and will be facing a Yankees offense that has posted a .759 OPS during the team's playoff run. However, the 26-year-old righty found success against The Pinstripes when he faced them in June, throwing seven shutout innings while allowing just two hits and two walks.
Dodgers' Jack Flaherty: Named Game 1 starter Rotowire 19 hrs ago Flaherty has been named the Dodgers' starter for Game 1 of the World Series versus the Yankees on Friday, Noah Camras of DodgersNation.com reports.
Flaherty made his last start in Game 5 of the NLCS against the Mets this past Friday, so he will head into Game 1 of the World Series with six full days of rest. The right-hander had an excellent start in Game 1 of the NLCS, shutting out the Mets across seven innings. However, the Mets got to him in his second outing, scoring eight runs in just three innings. With Flaherty set to go Friday, it is likely Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Walker Buehler will start the following two games, respectively.
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Confident about Game 1 status Rotowire 19 hrs ago Freeman (ankle) said Tuesday that he believes it is "100 percent" he will be in the lineup for Game 1 of the World Series versus the Yankees on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Freeman did not play in Game 6 of the NLCS on Sunday and has gone three days without running. The first baseman has been able to hit in that time and will go through his normal routine Tuesday, albeit without any running.

Which Flaherty will we get? Hopefully not the one that pitched Game 5. Odd (but not unexpected) Daisy would flip flop him and Yamaha to start the series, especially with Yama seeming to need more days off between starts. I guess he’s hoping for a short series, but I’m not counting those chickens before they hatch. This one had all the potential of going the full seven, which undoubtedly will include an infamous bullpen game. FIRE DAISY & FRAUDY!!!

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani's 50th home run ball sells for $4.39 million at auction
Ohtani is the only player MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season By Chris Bengel 10 hrs ago • 1 min read
Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season. After achieving the milestone last month, Ohtani's 50th home run ball has sold for $4.39 million on the auction block.
It sets a new record paid for a baseball and any sports ball overall. The previous record belonged to Mark McGwire's then record-breaking 70th home run ball from the 1998 season and carried a final price tag of $3 million back in 1999.
The ball was cosigned to Goldin Auctions and was predicted to be one of the most lucrative pieces of baseball memorabilia of all-time.
"Shohei Ohtani made history with this baseball, and now, with the highest sale price for any ball ever sold, this legendary piece of sports memorabilia has made history again," Goldin founder Ken Goldin said in a statement. "We received bids from around the world, a testament to the significance of this iconic collectible and Ohtani's impact on sports, and I'm thrilled for the winning bidder."
While the ball did sell, there's currently litigation taking place over who actually owns the baseball in Florida. On Oct. 7, an agreement was reached between Goldin and "all parties" that allowed the auction to take place.
The $4.39 million will end up going into an account while the lawsuit plays out in court.
Ohtani slugged his 50th home run on Sept. 19 when he recorded a three-home run game against the Miami Marlins. He finished the 2024 season with 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases.

Somebody has WAY too much money on their hands. I cannot imagine spending that much money on a $10 baseball. I would guess the next step would be to get his signature and perhaps personal inscription of it being #50, the date he hit it, etc. How much is it worth if he bests this year and goes 60 - 60 before the end of his career? Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Won't pitch in World Series Rotowire 4 hrs ago Manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Ohtani (elbow) will not pitch in the World Series, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Ohtani has always been a long shot to pitch at any point in 2024 while recovering from elbow surgery. He'll remain a key part of the Dodgers' lineup in the World Series and likely has his eyes set on returning to the mound in 2025.
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Good chance of making roster Rotowire 4 hrs ago Manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Rojas (thigh) is trending in the right direction and there's a good possibility he will be active for the World Series on Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Rojas has a torn abductor and will need to undergo surgery during the offseason, but his chances of playing in the World Series are still alive. Despite trying to be active for the NLCS versus the Mets, the Dodgers elected to add Kevin Kiermaier to the roster instead. Kiermaier's roster designation will likely be determined by the Dodgers' decision for Rojas on Friday .
Dodgers' Alex Vesia: Feeling good following session Rotowire 5 hrs ago Vesia (ribs) threw 15 pitches facing hitters in a simulated situation Wednesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Vesia is recovering from a rib cage injury, but he said he was feeling good Thursday morning. The reliever noted that his fastball may have been a mph down, but added that he will be ready to go Friday night. The left-hander seems to have made strides in recovery to make the World Series roster, but the decision still remains to be made.

Bullpen for Shohei in 2025. Or perhaps start learning an OF position in Glendale. Dude is one of the fastest on the team and could probably cover any of the three OF positions. I KNOW he and ownership want to see him on the mound again and the LA rotation certainly could use another arm. What worries me is how the starters have ALL suffered injuries over the last several years resulting in surgical procedures and months to years of unavailability. If Oh injures his arm again, LA loses not only a pitcher, but also their cash cow draw and offensive prowess for who knows how long. Is that really worth the risk? Are 15 W’s on the mound worth losing him for an extended period at the plate? And who’s to say that the offense we witnessed this year would remain or exceed with the added pressure of pitching every fifth day? LA should take SERIOUS consideration before anointing Shohei a spot in the starting five. FIRE DAISY & FRAUDY!!!

That arm in rightfield is a natural. Then have Mookie work on shortstop from spring training on. DH doesn't have to be an assigned position. Alternate. Keep Smith's bat in the lineup more often. Keep Muncy's glove off the field from time to time.

McDousch squeezing every cent he can out of Dodger fans using his parking lots.
$75 for standard vehicles, $150 for oversized, including pickup trucks and larger SUV’s.
That’ll pay for quite a few salon and tanning bed visits for that old leather bag of bones wife of his.

From what I’ve seen, the lot holds @ 16,000. That’s $1.2 million a night for ALL standards. If you figure 1/4 will be large vehicles, it jumps to $1.5 million.
That’s obscene. But considering seats are starting in the thousands, what’s another $150 - $300 for two nights of parking?
I guess a beer and Dodger Dog will run you $40 - $50.
Anybody going?

Phillips the latest victim of the LA pitching staff to come up lame with “arm fatigue”.
He will not be on the World Series roster and Gaterade will take his spot. Scooter also has been added to the roster.
Another stellar job by LA pitching coaches and trainers.
When are they going to figure out that these guys are NOT machines that can go every / every other night and throw nothing but 100 mph fastballs?
Gaterade has been on and off the IL the entire year. Think he has four or five more good innings left in him?
Boom boom Braiser Burger also keeps his spot along with My Sharona and Banya.
Better hope they get more than four or five innings out of Flaherty, Yamaha & Buehler this series.
